"Glimpse of Us" is a great song to react to - such good vocals on that one!
And the sad thing is, almost none of the covers I've heard get why it's so brilliant. Even though it wasn't written by Mr Miller, George did the impossible and made it more than it was as lyrics on a piece of paper. He deliberately sang it in a weak, broken voice. Got you to feel how crushed the lyrical I is. Almost everyone else singing it sings it in a clear, well trained voice, losing nearly all the power the song has. Only two VTubers, both from the same agency, managed to get the heart of what makes Glimpse of Us work so well.
My fav Joji song is either Sanctuary or Run, both have pretty wild videos too
Half man, half goat, actually. A Satyr. A lustful creature of hedonistic fun.
And not hit by Robin Hood, but someone much more dangerous and cruel. Cupid.
The whole thing is, as you can probably tell from the lyrics, a story of unrequited love.
The Satyr chooses to suffer alone and yearn for the loved one, as it is not made for committed relationships. Anyone else will be a better partner for the one it loves.

This is a metaphor where Dancing in the dark means be with somebody but hide that relationship ship, that why he is saying he don’t deserve her… I love Joji! I suggest you to check Run, Glimpse of Us, Will He, Yeah Right. Yes, is different but also interesting.

The Satyr bit is not the only mythology bit you need to know well in order to get the video. It is a Satyr/Faun, a servant of Dionysus/Bacchus, made to have no strings attached, hedonistic fun. Be it drinking or adult fun times... They're not meant to be seriously committed. This one, though? This one was hit with a sharp arrow of Eros/Cupid, the servant of Venus/Aphrodite(as opposed to a blunt one. The sharp one causes unconditional, deep love. Not desire. Love. The blunt one causes disgust.). As a big D energy being it can even kill a human partner if it gives in to its desires. And if it doesn't follow the will of the arrow, it won't be able to pull it out. It will bleed to death.
See the issue, though? It knows it isn't meant for a serious commitment and can't give the person of interest what she(the woman he is deeply in love with) deserves, plus it risks harming the girl. And so... "You should be with him. I can't compete.". It chooses to yearn and suffer alone as to not cause harm.
On a less metaphorical level, the lyrical I doesn't want to hurt a long time friend, even though he wishes for more than they have. He knows/feels he's undeserving of her. He has fallen for her, though. He can't be "just friends" any more. He doesn't want to "slowdance in the dark" any more. In the end, he chooses to hurt himself rather than her.
