They are actually not overly bright and much dimmer than a NightSun. It's called a NightScanner and is used to add some light for night vision goggles. NVG's throttle when exposed to too much light. Some of the aircraft I fly have two NightScanners of different sizes and strengths and I usually use the smaller one for landing in very dark places. Sounds counterintuitive but needed with NVGs.

Awesome!! That spin at lift off gave the opportunity to really see just how powerful those landing lights are as they lit up the building.
