Bingo!!! It was all all marketing. When you over stress any system you shorten it's life and efficiency replacement comes quickly... Who is the winner? Yep we all know
This is all well and good but for the consumer and someone like myself who is a builder owner none of this really helps me in dealing with the suppliers and installers etc. I have serious doubts the suppliers and installers are going to be privy to all these different brands tweaking their performance, in other words, many of us don't have very many choices if we are dealing with a single supplier and installer etc. This is particularly true if you want the extended manufacturer's warranty like, for example, Mitsubishi units etc. There's a serious problem in this ecosystem when it comes to repair and support as many below are alluding to or directly describing. This is particularly true the more rural one lives.
can any one address working on a cold climate heat pumps in a cold ass climate? cant you see the over all problem? if large numbers come to be. current labor shortage and people that want any thing to do with working on a HP in the cold with a system blowing even colder air on you becomes a major problem.
The mfrs CANNOT provide the field tech with ANY testing parameters to determine what is happening in a system like these!!! There are no longer individual replaceable parts, it is all a board that costs so much that ANY out of warranty repairs are required.
In Canada with our ODA below minus temperatures are not feasible as in the Southern USA plus the initial costs and then repairs costs are very expensive with the more expensive replacement costs and enough knowledgeable people out there to service them at $200.00 an hour! The cost benefits are not there unless one can make repairs themselves! The laws of thermodynamics are the same today as they were since the beginning of time! Cold climate is simply another buzz word that do not deliver as promised!
Very very little substance and left out the cost benefit s which as others said correctly do not exist! Highly recommend basic units then over size for colder climate only aa last choice. Keep it simple! Best for user, installer, and service! This was 30 minutes of marketing...thanks this confirms plain Jane units best...or go propane All the very best
Good presenter! Very clear! Thx
So tell me more about brand f and why you wouldn't choose that one for your HVAC system? Does it use more electricity? Probably.
In the boost mod, will we lost the 15% safety for the compressor amps!
Taking 32 minutes to deliver 9 minutes of information has made me sleepy

I can’t stand high end AC units they cost so much to repair or you have to make the home owner wait on parts.

This is bs green advertising ad.
Sounds expensive to repair. The HVAC companies will love them, consumers not so much.
There is nothing better than a few tones off coal in your boiler room .
