This was most certainly one of my favourite videos to make, as the 717 has always been a favourite aircraft of mine! Make sure to watch to the end to find out the TRUTH on the retirement rumours, and if they should be true or not!
Sad to see the end of the Maddog, I used to see Qantas 717s quite a lot. Sadly the last QF 717 flight was on the 30th of December. Good to see a review on an aircraft that is getting rarer these days.
Fun fact: in a different video where ice 711 flies on the porter Q400 he sees a delta 717 and tells himself that he will fly it one day. Ps: ice please heart
In December last year I got to go to Brisbane Airport to see the last ever 717 landing in Australia. It's a shame that they are getting retired, they are such a good regional aircraft.
@@ice711realThe QF 717 had a bit of a weird retirement, they tried to retire it months ago but A220 issues kept a single one flying. Hopefully VH-YQW (the final 717 ever made) will be kept in decent condition, the engines will probably be sent to the US but the aircraft will stay here down under to train crew at Brisbane.
Congratulations on 180k! Amazing flight on the Maddog btw, loved the sounds of those engines! It’s a shame it’s retirement may be near, hope I can catch of flight aboard it before then. Great upload! ❤

That's actually so cool! Also ice711 I have been watching your channel for a while now about 10 months and I just wanted to say that your my idol and got me into aviation:]
I loved flying the 717 for Qantas once, it was a blast in one of their last 717's. Yes my first flight was cancelled before, but the airline transferred us to the 717. I got some beutiful shots of the 717 wing over the sydney harbour in the sunset. All respects to the pilots and crew of all 717s
Hey ice!, Amazing video, I'm glad to see you got to fly on the 717, I'm going to fly on a delta 717 this summer from CLT-ATL. also thank you for including the seat number in the description because I will for sure book my flight with the same seat number.
The 717 was probably the only regional jet I am excited to get on, even though I never been on one, from what I heard from family and now you, it seems to be amazing! It's a shame these are getting retired. Hopefully Delta/Hawaiian becomes the Lufthansa of the 717 :)
That is so impressive how steep the take off is! I’ve never been in a type of plane like that, really interesting to see! Sad that it’s being retired, I love a good plane. I enjoyed the video, it was great!
I just went ice skating and saw a delta 717 fly over while I was spinning and looked up the with the snow and me spinning it was a beautiful sight 😍 sad they are getting retired soon tho, epic aircraft 😮❤❤
Man, the Boeing 717 This little dude is one of the last of its kind, well 2 ( McDonnell Douglas, and the DC-9 Family ). One of the last still in service, the T-tail, the rear mounted engines. Ngl, it’s gonna leave a hole in our hearts when it’s gone. Most of the MD-80 Family, and all of the DC-9s are all out of commission, the JT8Ds, the RB715s they’ll stop singing. Well, The aircraft wouldn’t be forgotten after its retirement along with the rest of the DC-9s and the MD-80s. I wonder if Delta would preserve one of them to be next to 675. 🤔 (N675MC) Edit: 13:09 w o a h
I was very fortunate to fly on a Delta 717 from Atlanta - Fayetteville. It was N971AT, and was the first cockpit i sat in. To this day, it is one of three I’ve been allowed to sit in. It definitely isn’t your average plane.
I flew on one of these planes years ago from LGA to ORD. It was a comfortable 2 hour journey on the shuttle, which I thought was for Northeast flights but for some reason LaGuardia to O’Hare flights on Delta are part of the shuttle service. I do remember it took off quickly from LaGuardia after it turned to the runway which an LA based plane spotter calls “Turn n Burn”
I went on the Boeing 717 38 times already here in Hawaii it's sad to see airlines getting rid of the 717 but it makes sense because it's a old aircraft and airlines want more fuel efficient planes

Luckily for me. The 717 flies daily to my airport from 3 different places with 2 being regular. All I think 2-3 times daily. Heard the A220 is replacing them for Delta though so I wonder if we’ll get those or the CRJ-900 (hopefully A220)
I'm 39 years old, recently laid off, and in a new phase of my life. What are my best options for steady income given that I have 425K saved for retirement, 10K in an HSA, and a property that might bring in an additional 200K?
Is it time for a career shift or should I consolidate my investments into a single account? If I go for the latter, how do I do it right, and what could be the drawbacks? Plus, with a $200K property sale on the horizon, should I combine my investments or diversify them across different markets?
