  • Wagner is currently ranked #7 nationally in men's 55 singles while Perdue is unranked in singles (due to lack of play) but ranked #1 nationally in team doubles. Honestly more enjoyable than watching modern professional tennis.

Any idea how fast Perdue’s serve is? Looks pretty big

You can theoretically look at the graphic in the upper right to show serve speed, but it looks faster to me that what is shown. Maybe Joe will see this and answer. Actually here is what he said:
Hey Mike. I do have a radar gun and the fastest flat serve I’ve hit when using the radar gun is 117. So, I suppose I may touch 120 on occasion.
SwingVision has been working on speed for years now but their “average speed” vs the typical radar gun speed as the ball comes off the racket is quite different. So many variable, like humidity, wind, etc factor into it. SwingVision shows my average serve speed to be in the low 80s, so they say to add roughly 20% to get in the ballpark. That would be around 100 as an average, which sounds reasonable if including much slower kick serves & slices along with 2nd serves. The kicks and slices make the flat one more effective, so I always mix those in.
In that match with Ed the gusty wind really affected my tosses, so I hit more slices than usual just because I hate to catch a bad toss (not smart, but that’s what I do). Kicks and slices maybe be in the 80s, I’d guess, but certainly slower than the flat serve.
