Haha, I clicked on this out of curiosity and after a few seconds I thought it could really be something but sadly it turned out to be one of those endless intro things were no actual song ever starts, quite disappointing.
I'm reluctant to imagine the rest if this is the best song, thanks for the warning!

It was fun taping music on the radio, a lot of people taped their LPs and then could listen to just the recordings and save their LP collection as new, I never did that myself I played my LPs.

Yup. I'm 64. I long ago lost count of the number of acts that I've seen live. That has included singers with superb voices such as Ian Gillan and Annie Haslam. It has included singers with bags of charisma and stage presence such as Mick Jagger, Noddy Holder and George Melly. But I've never seen anyone who could just *own* a stage and spellbind an audience to the extent that Alex Harvey could. He is much missed.

What has age got to do with it?
We listen to the music of our youth, that doesn't just stop when you hit 60 😆

    • @HTJB60

@@charliekane135 But arn't we lucky to have LIVED THROUGH THESE TIMES ? Youngster's missed all that excitement & inovation as each new band came on the scene. Age has a LOT to do with that.

    • @charliekane135

Yes age has a lot to do with *that* however that wasn't the subject of the comments.
They were about still listening to bands like this when you're in your 60's and 70's like it's some sort of oddity. That puzzles me, why wouldn't we?
Should I start listening to Coldplay and Ed Sheeran because I'm 60? 😆

I did not see them but some of my biker mates did. Apparently the SAHB put on a great show. The sort that left them grinning from ear to ear.

I saw SAHB supporting Slade June 1973 at Leeds University.I was 13 and left with my mouth open! I bought all their albums over the next few weeks (pocket money allowing!) I remember getting into trouble for playing 'Next" too loudly and my Mum getting annoyed at the lyrics!

Alex asked me to play flute for him on a Recording made at a London Studio in the early 70s.
The Band was so loud I had to play isolated in something that resembled a Telephone Box, as the Band would have been picked up on the Mike I was using.
I have the Track on an MC. It is very low in loudness. Maybe I''ll get a copy made from the MC sometime and see how it sounds with the volume raised.

SAHB was more like a cross between a vaudeville act & an Olde English Troupe with the theater thrown in for free. They were as different as night & day compared to other acts of the time. Exceptionally good LIVE! I can't stress just how spectacular they were. He used to act quite giddy about introducing his band, he'd do it over & over as part of the act. When he stuffed the stockings in his mouth & started his 'I've been FRAMED' routine, we about fell over. Up till then, bands that incorporated a crazy stage act the entire show were & stayed EXTREMELY rare. The Faith Healer was very much an act about faith healing, strange in itself.

NOBBY, you are 100% correct my friend! Alex was one of Bon's Idols, listen to swampsnake, and you would sware it was bon himself, look at early ac/dc footage, and you will see the same striped jumper on Bon that was Mr Harvey's trademark, Bon loved Alex Harvey, Angus Young has said Bon loved Aex & he was one of his Idols, both true Scotsmen, and both sadly missed, RIP Bon & Alex, We miss you both so much, God Bless x
