  • Hey friends! In today’s video I’m sharing a very exciting DIY. My hubby and I built a table and chairs for our boys! I’ve been shopping around for a children’s table and chairs for while now and they’ve either been the wrong size, too expensive, or not in stock. With my oldest son doing distance learning from home and my 5 year old homeschooling with me, I really needed to find a table that would accommodate them both and even my little Caleb who’s 1 year old. We’ve never built any kind of furniture before so this was definitely a first for us. We stepped out of our comfort zone and we’re so happy we did! This table and chairs is perfect for us and will most surely get passed down the generations…I’m so proud of the fact we did this and we can totally see future building projects! I hope this video inspires you to create your very own kids table and chairs. This project was beginner friendly for DIYers like us. Let me know what you think!

    I love it! Nice to be able to hand it down to the boys when they have their families. Don't forget to engrave your initials and the date it was made! Looking forward to new projects. Thank you for sharing!

    In the future harbor freight has a pocket system for 64 dollars and you can use the 20 % off coupon or if it's a holiday they give 25% off coupons. Also Titebond III is best for out door furniture. For chairs or benches give the backs an 11 degree slant for comfort. Great job on the project wow You did a fantastic job, I do this for a living and you did great!

    Did you have to cut the wood for the table top? I’ve never built anything in my life and don’t have any tools yet. I need to know exactly what I need to complete this. Thanks!

    Very nice! For future info, when sanding, start with a lower grit and work yourself up! Example: Start with 120, then 220, then 300 , etc :)
    800 grit is smooth as butter, not 220!

    For greater joint, it would prefer using extra biscuit jointer + wooden glue in between that 2 screw holes. GBU.

    Hi, how is the smell of the polyurethane?? I know oil based is strong.

    • @SheMakes31
      @SheMakes31  3 роки тому +1

      The Polyacrlic that I used is water based and barely has a smell to it. Nothing compared to oil based polyurethane! Thank you for watching ☺️

      Thank you Jose. I’m aware of this, the plans called for the on the outside this time to reduce the chances of cracking the wood since it’s rather thin and just furring strips. Thanks for watching!
