Need a guide for Ottawa - I can never get my alliances or economy sorted out by the time England arrives and wipes me!
Poland needs some love
Ardabil into Persia please.
I think rather than do a specific country guide you should do a military only guide. You always skip over your wars when that is often the hardest bit about your guides to emulate in our own games
Thanks for the video Red Hawk, any chance we can get one for Great Horde? One of the Black or White Sheep?
I knew it was a matter of time til Hawk dropped another prussia vid 😂 Glad people are coming around about curtail noble privileges, 15% tax is nothing to scoff at even midgame. Banger guide.
Ah, EU4 economics. "We're _deeply_ in debt, we barely manage to make a profit while completely defunding our military _and_ having another power heavily subsidize our income." Red Hawk: "As you can see, money should be absolutely no problem!" ;)
Hawk , increased lavies exempts the nobility from seize land anyways. Take the 10% core creation as soon as u can get it, dont wait for 30% crown land. 27:49
Or you can just not take increased levies.

You’re the only EU4 player that not only helps me to sleep, but keeps me interested enough to still listen when I close my eyes. Thats also why I watch you when Im awake and alert
well, glad to see I'm not the only one who watches Hawk's videos when it's sleeping time. I don't know, something about his voice and his content makes me feel so comfortable, that's very easy to fall asleep listening to.
same i sleep to his vids
Feel like we've had enough Brandenburg guides, I'd love to see a Teuton/Livonian guide!
Just started a run of Teutons into Prussia about 6 hours ago and now this drops. The universe is definitely telling me something
It tells you that teutons are way better than brandenburg.
You get subjugation cb on livonian order and easy way to conquer poland
Yeah probably but you should still ignore whatever its telling you because Catholic germany before the age of reformation is based as fuck
@@1tsbag134No they are not, sorrounded by enemies, a 30K or more polish-lituanian army, not military bonuses that good as Brandenburg, is probably something. Teutons probably just can vassal Livonians (They would have strong liberty desire for half the game) and is risky since it makes russia and poland your enemies. Let's be honest.
@@Airland-xx3pr The livonians are not even Worth Allies They Start with 10k Troops But by the time the War with Polond strats they only have 5k because of rebals and with brandenburg always Allies With Poland Its Hard to Win the War
@@eastgermangeneralfsauea7991 Correct, Teutons are not the best way to form Prussia, is Brandenburg.
Lets goo another fire guide
Nice video. Good guide. Enjoyed a lot.
Love this guide! I'm around 1500 in my game right now, and I ended up accidentally getting the Burgundian Inheritance from being Emperor, and then PU-ing Milan, which led to... a *little* bit of AE. Nowhere near as big myself as you are by that point in the video, but the subject swarm is pretty fun.
Nice. Cheers!
Spooky that you posted this when I got this achievement this morning.
Thanks for the Angevin empire guide because of you I might be able to reform the Roman Empire
Of course you post this a day after I start my first Brandenburg run
Thanks, I will probably try Brandebourg sooner rather than later. Your angevine guide was really helpful (as were all your guides anyway).
Oirats when?
I know there are other guides out there but every time i try to get into eu4 i find that you make the best guids, If its possiable do you think u can do genral guide on things like managing economy, ae, trade and the like.
When will we get that Ottawa guide!?
I love it when the "Fate of Neumark" event doesn't fire before Poland's truce runs out with the Teutons
I'd like it if you'd do a Genoa guide someday. It's one of the Italian nations that I haven't seen a serious guide on yet, just your A to Z video. They look quite interesting to me.
Colonial Genoa seems interesting
>Makes a guide for Brandenburg
>Completely ignores the Ansbach Succession
Although I'm sure someone has already pointed it out: Increased Levies exempts the nobility from Seize Land regardless. All the CCR Privilege does is makes them more influential and Loyal.
7:17 Here its good to look first at who you want to attack first and if you can rival one of their allies aswell. You can get easy PP from humiliations and the age objective this way. Rival your next target after you are done with the first and a slot is free again. You ll also pick up free PP by outscaling those side rivals (guys like Mecklenburg, Lüneburg or Magdeburg for example) and those slots get freed up aswell.
Good video. But you should have covered the Succession event
Great video, thank you very much.
Something unfortunate happened in my playthrough.. I am not sure how it happened but when i declared war in Bohemia in 1460s-1470s, my ruler was still General of the army, either he died in battle or by age, however because of that i had a female ruler and right then the new HRE emperor was elected... i had almost all the electors on my side.. didnt even have time to react it both happened almost instantly.. unlucky i guess
Can you do a guide on Aq Qoyunlu at some point? It's getting very little attention compared to the Qara and its neighbors
Personally, what I found to work really well for expansion is to dismantle the hre asap. (It’s possible to do within the first 5-10 years)
Makes expanding easier as I could fully annex a lot of nations without getting a coalition. Even if I sacrifice the teuton initiative, as long as there is a province you can vassalise and get cores back from Poland diplomatically or through war.
As a bonus it makes Burgundian succession easy as they rival France most of the time.
Another Prussia guide?! Hell YEAH!
Fiiiiiinallyyyyyyy
Please do a guide on Golden horde
>tried playing Brandenberg
>focus on sieging Konigsberg
>Teutons allied Hungary, but Poland got Lithuania right away and my alliance outnumbered 2:1 so I didn't even bother bringing Austria in
>ignore everything else going on in the war outside of peaceing out Teutons' allies when their morale drops
>all of a sudden
>Poland signs separate peace
>both Poland & Lithuania had no army left
>get immediately stack wiped by Hungary-Teutons-Livonia
Yeah, I'm thoroughly demoralized, gonna play something else for now
integrating vasalls who are also members of HRE cause agressive expansion with all HRE Nations- even ur allies and other vasalls. So take care when u integrate
I had an odd situation where poland were fighting austria when i went for my second teutonic war, so Poland ended up not having a truce and taking the 3 provinces I didn't take in the second war
Once it happened to me that i got elected the Emperor in the first year of the game 💀 Btw waiting for 30% crown land to give that priviliege to the Nobility is useless since increased levies also extempt them from siezing land
That’s only possible if the mission Pomeranian Succesion is achievable with only 4 provinces, and not all of Pomerania. In my game I am obliged to take both Wolgast and Stetting in order to gain claims on Prussia
Can you make a video of the teutonic order? Later
Prussia already has very good combat stats, so quantity ideas are more important then quality ideas.
More combat stats scale aditive to the combatstats you already have. more troops scale muliplicative with your combat stats.
taking those loans for me it always spirals out of control
instead of vassalizing wolgast, it might be better to take everything and release rugen and give them the provinces you dont need
If you dont wanna waste diplo points but still want to become emperor you re also fine by just allying two electors and get them to vote for you. Austria rarely gets 3 or more votes if you already take possible 3 votes away from them. Thats because the other electors will vote for their allies and Austria only tends to ally the Palatine and/or Trier sometimes. But they mostly fill up their alliance limit with south german and italian minors and one or two strong allies like Hungary, Burgundy or Aragon. So its very rare that Austria will ally more than one elector.
If you dont interfere Austria mostly gets re-elected cause they secure the votes from the bishop electors (Cologne, Mainz and Trier) by improving relations with them. If you take two of them for yourself, you should be fine with 3 votes. Bohemia, Saxony and the Palatinate (if not allied to Austria for the latter) prefer their allies over Austria cause they also have the royal marriage bonus that doesnt exist for the bishops.
Lets say its "worst case" and Austria allies both electors they tend to go for, Trier and the Palatinate. You got your own vote and secure Cologne and Mainz, blocking both of them for Austria. And Bohemia and Saxony will vote for random allies from them. You ll still win 3 vs 2.
Teutonic order to Prussia guide when? (Don’t forget to move your capital to Berlin)
Man what do I do if the Tueutons join the HRE? Same strat or I should focus on someone else?
Brandenburg>Hansatic League>Prussia>Germany... the Hansa mission tree is absolutely stacked with permanent modifiers & can be formed then mission tree before flipping to Prussia at Adm Tech 12 (State Houses really help with that -50% Governing cap.)
how do you form hansatic league as brandenburg? i thought only lubeck can form it?
@@onethreeify Saxon culture plus Lubeck plus dominance in Lubeck trade node... there were a few other conditions but you can probably look them up. I just ran across it recently in my Nth Brandenburg run where the option to form the Hansatic League became an available mission. Really changed my normal plan cause then I had to shift upwards & eat into Sweden to do Lubeck Mission Tree (spawning Gold in the province with the monument as your Capital is a beyond broken exploit)... then got all the Free Cities as Vassals in my Trade League. It was an unusual experience for a Brandenburg playthrough... I highly recommend it since you get this whole chunk of the game where you are an economic powerhouse with buildings everywhere (there's probably even a case for tag switching to Denmark cause they have that awesome Global +1 building slot mission.) It's way way way easier than the Gotland path to get the +5% Discipline from their missions which isn't really that impactful anyways when your Discipline is so high in the end... saves tons of AE & there's no Imperial Ban modifier with Austria being your ally from the beginning of the game.
Why waiting for ccr bonus on nobles privileges ? I thought Increased levees already exempted them from seizing land.
i got bored of my France run and decided to play as Brandenburg, well the universe did want me to play this country ig lol
If we r going to vasalize a lot y did we not open with diplo or influ ideas?
Once you are set up with a large Prussia it might be good to expand using vassals and pick up Influence ideas. A lot of the policies from Influence increase your force limit contributions from vassals. Get a few +100% vassal force limit contribution and it makes a big difference. Plus I always enjoy having a few large Marches as permanent enthusiastic allies. You can also divert their trade power to get a lot of income from them.
Alright so the Neumark event never popped for me, and in 1450 Poland declared war on the Teutonic Order. They are now occupying Neumark and Dramburg in September of 1451. I have a feeling that they will be taking those provinces in the peace deal. Is this cause for a restart?
So they ended their war with them and ended up not taking Neumark or Dramburg, but the even still hasn't popped for me. Still not sure if I should continue this scuffed game lol
I would actually suggest getting involved with Burgundy, if you become the emperor, if anything to not let France have all of it
When I get my promised 2 years ago Genua guide?
What are age objectives? I've seen them mentioned in several of Red Hawk's videos, but they don't appear in my games. Is this a pay-to-win thing from one of the DLCs?
yes, you need mandate of heaven dlc for it
just pirate the dlc's
You can RM Burgundy on day 1 if you get religious diplomats and either scornfully insult a Burgundian rival or get a diplo rep advisor
Imo you left out the most important part of a Prussia guide: getting the government reform upgrade missions done fast
Sure, they are easy to do when you pretty much wait for them until the Age of Revolution, but at that point you kinda missed out on a lot of it.
I missed this editor
What about Espionage as the first or second group, if anything for the AE reduction?
id say espionage into offesnive is the best idea setup for brandburg for a chill playthrough
I think it was Zlewik who said espionage is really good now, but it has so much competition it still isnt picked that much
I take Espionage 2nd because prussian ideas dont get into effect until tech 10 atleast.
@@oKnuTo I prefer going more economic focused as brandenburg as you start as a backwater march on the frontier of the Holy Roman Empire, Nicolaus Leuthinger describes brandenburg as a poor marshlands with almost no infrastructure and the lands plagued by robber barons. Quality for the +10% infantry combat ability then Innovative or Infrastructure. Offensive then Economic/ Infrastructure for the 2nd pair but sometimes I pick Aristocratic for the -5% dev cost
Ngl, tried a Brandenburg campaign about two weeks ago. Mission tree power-creep makes these old nations feel stale and lacking.
I prefer to conquer Tuchel, Kulm and Danzig in the first war and then vassalize the Teutonic Order. Through annexing a vassal you don't destroy the monument level in Marienburg. I started to aim for Burgundian heritage too. Their provinces guarantee your supremacy over continental Europe and that power comes at zero AE if you get lucky and France didn't eat half/ most of Burgundy before the inheritance.
@13:17 ah! Invisible cursor!
*create a trebizond to roman empire guide*
Or theodoro to Germany guide
what happens if poland rivals austria at the start?
Im currently trying to unify Germany with Bohemia.
And also for AE, you can also just wait for the year to tick if there’s nations that are at or near 50 AE. If you have strong allies like Poland and Austria you need to worry about 4-5 outraged countries.
C’mon now, we don’t need a 3rd Brandenburg to Prussia guide. We need a Persia or Arabia guide!
Soon
Pls do Beloozero to Poland guide!
He has to capitalise of all those kaiserboos in the community
Those are countries that (iirc) he’s never done guides for before, so writing them might take a while. These are popular and decently quick to pop out.
His last Brandenburg vid was like 6 months ago
I've tried, but ended up with a shitton off debts and two disloyal vassals
edit: i vassalized Stettin and Woglatz or wathever and conquered danzig and konigsberg, but now i'm super poor with multiple debt , i don't know what to do, i'll probably quit.
Before I watch this video, boy do I hope a guide actually has the Franconian conquest mission in it for a change.
Edit: Hawk says it doesn't matter which of the four electors you ally, but if you're going for the Franconian conquest don't ally Mainz as they're one of the nations that owns land in Franconia, and thus may be one of the nations you have to fight if you can't find a way to fight a Free City.
I usually end up going for Cologne and Mainz, just because they're usually rivalling other electors and it will be harder for Austria to win their vote if they're not allied. Budgetmonk had a good suggestion for Franconian conquest, just ally Ansbach and call them into wars against their neighbors' allies, feeding them some land before you even have to conquer it. Sometimes their neighbors don't ally anyone you can reasonably get into a war with, but in my experience you can usually get 4-6 provinces under their control before you PU them. If their neighbors don't have suitable allies you can always break the Mainz alliance temporarily. For me though the biggest problem is that unfortunately Albrecht Achilles also tends to die before he can come to power and trigger the PU.

Excuse me, i would like to ask anyone that willing to asnwer my question. My game has no sound, whether it's the soundtrack or even the clicking sound, is there some kind of solution to these things?
1) make sure it isn't something stupid as you putting the volume on 0 (it can always happen to anyone, as the obvious is what you won't think about)
2) You might want to repair the game using Steam or Epic Games
I don't know if there can be more solutions

One day Red Hawk I hope you stop saying 'It's totally up to you' a bunch of times. It's implicit since you give two+ options then state what you choose to do. Please. I beg. It's driving me insane.
why guides for nations where we already have so many guides for? nothing changed for prussia last patch
Different play style, similar results. Lots of people enjoy forming Prussia, so lots of people use these guides, making them in popular demand. And not everybody finds it easy to do style a, and so want guides for style b or c.
Forming PreuBen and Deutschland are the only reasons to play this game.
