    So glad I found your channel! My hair is a very similar texture to yours and was getting so frustrated with it as it gets longer because I couldn't find anyone with hair longer than bra strap length. They all just promite cutting layers and what not to help the curls.

    Thank you Jenn! I appreciate your videos and helpful information! I am a wavy, curly girl and sometimes I really struggle with comparing myself to others in a bad way. I’m learning to embrace the hair God gave me learn how to take care of it. And honestly, it’s really fun to experiment and there’s always something new to learn

    Thank you, Jenn. That was another great class on hair. I am sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. You and your family are in my prayers.

    I don't remember exactly what I was searching for when I first stumbled across your videos (Denman brush, maybe?), but I was so happy to find someone making videos about curly hair care whose hair is longer than mine! Shoulder-blade length is not "long"...

    Thank you for sharing this! I try to use all homemade or natural products, but this is still very helpful!
    I'm still in the transition phase and I started about a year and a half ago😳😭
    My hair is very thick, coarse, and low porosity.

    Yes love your tips 🤗💕 I had damaged my hair with heat... I did cut it 5 inches last year but now it is 25 inches close to my tailbone. I have ethnic curly wavy hair I wash it only with shampoo every 2 weeks, I can last that long. I use one product only and use coconut oil 2 times a year and it works for me. I love your videos 💕💓 I haven't cut my hair and it is still in good condition.

    Trader Joe's tea tree shampoo and conditioner is a great natural option, I don't get to use it that often because there isn't a Trader Joe's where I live and it's quite expensive online. Renpure is a more natural brand but they started putting fragrance in it that isn't plant based so I won't be using them anymore. But you can find their products at Walmart as well as on Amazon. Most of the time I just make my own shampoo and conditioner, and then I scrunch in flaxseed gel to hydrate my hair when needed.

    What if you haven’t colored your hair in 12 years? (I haven’t cut it in 12 years either so I still have the hair that I colored but it’s highly faded like not really there anymore) would I still need a lot of protein?

    • @LifeWithJenn
      @LifeWithJenn  2 роки тому

      I think you would still need some yes! because once your hair is damaged its hard to reverse it unless you cut it. so i would definitely do some protein, a little at a time and see how your hair handles it!

    Hi Jen! My hair is actually kinda similar to yours thickness wise, strand diameter wise, and my hair is past my butt as well same length as you about or maybe a tad longer, I’m 3c texture. I started my cg journey about 4 months ago it’s going well. My hair looks bad ass I must say lol!!! I love the cantu gel you recommend and I tried out the cantu curl custard on my own and it’s amazing as well! Idk y I ever wanted straight hair all my life lmao! My only problem is the tangles under the hair that accumulate on the upper back section, I’ve never been able to last on cg because of them this is the longest I’ve ever gone… but I have tried so many things that I can think of and still get the same tangles every time and seriously it takes me like 2-3 hours to comb and carefully pick them out on my wash day which currently is on 3rd day hair, because I can’t last any longer then that due to tangles, I can’t comb in the shower and I can’t do nothing upside down either…. having this long of hair honestly it makes the tangles worse if I do any of that, I can’t use a brush or a wet brush either (has to be a wide tooth comb) I notice I loose wayyyy more hair if I use those and it takes way too long to grow hair this length ….all strands count and I refuse to risk their lil hair lives 😂 lol!!! Now in this video you said deep conditioning which I don’t do bc my hair is pretty healthy just using conditioner galore but maybe that’s my key to control the tangles, I’m going to try it and see, regardless what do you suggest to help tame the tangles? P.s I have a fb group that’s free advice no mlm’s~ for women only, and you’re free to post your vids in my group anytime! It’s called “Hair growth, fitness, health, and natural beauty tips” Anyways totally love your videos, thank you for taking the time to make them and help others ~~~~~ I love long hair 😍

      Lol!! I love this comment 😂😂❤️ I usually rub oil in the underneath parts of my hair and gently take the tangles apart each day before I go to bed. If I do wear my hair down I try and wear a shirt that has a smooth texture to it. So I never wear my hair down with sweaters!
      Deep conditioners might help with tangles, but with curly hair we will get them regardless!
      Other than that I don’t do much to prevent them because we can’t 100% prevent them. We will get tangles no matter what 😂 unfortunately.

      @@LifeWithJenn thanks for your response! I’ve been experimenting since I wrote you this and I also noticed the fabric of the shirt is a huge part of the problem, cotton causes hell fire tangles! So I’ll stick to silky feeling shirts while the hair is down!! Lol and yeah you’re right, regardless we are going to get some tangles so really all we can do is be careful while we pick them out and just practice good hair habits and think wisely lol! Thanks again! ❤️
