@@equinoxgts they stop the sound (from the 'underside' of the speaker coliding with the sound from the front, so your sounds Comes out cleaner. it alsof can increase the mid tone and bass
noticed a couple month's ago that the rubber on my speakers was m.i.a. so decided to replace them, got around to it today and drilling out the rivits was surprisingly easy >.>...at least getting the caps off :P having never done it I needed to figure out how to get the stem out of there...just using a slightly smaller bit and wiggling the tip seems to get the job done ^^ though do not lower the window >.> thank god I forgot as I thought it would help to see if the speaker went in to deep...when the first drill shot through I was SOOOO glad I forgot to put the window down :P
I’ve got a 2000 gts that has the 4 prong harness, do you know the part number of it because I bought the ones you needed when I need the ones that you don’t need lol

I ran into the same problems lol I had to order everything and work on it another day. Also you should get speaker baffles, it sounds so much better🤘
