Very informative video this. Will be fun to see how the car compares now to how it was.
Great video, the tuners explained the challenges nicely.
So ecu/cpc/tcu tuning with some mods - at least dump pipe- is the goal.
My question, what about the 4matic+ system? Tune it to be more rear wheel biased lile xdrive or even E63s like. Tuning the twinster/rdu on the FocusRS made a huge difference to the driving experience.
It does not all need to be about power.

Great video ! Am going to watch your progress avidly, especially as I’m not brave enough to void the warranty on my own A45S ! (I also find it quite rapid enough already, stock, - just wish it sounded better, so might just risk an exhaust mod alone)

Will at VRS had a guy who mapped the gen 1 dct 7 spd box from the a45 amg which let him change gears alot quicker
That is correct, Will at VRS uses our EST Performance Gearbox and ECU Software.

These cars seem to be already maxed out from factory. I think power figures on stage 3 won’t be significant as the previous model in terms of huge gains over stock.

From the long term perspective would you not be better doing all the modifications at once? As I understand it from this excellent video the down pipe is now going to be the next restriction (which you’re planning on changing). If you’ll need t/ intend to do more tuning via the ECUs when that’s changed isn’t a stage one in effect money / dyno time wasted? Obviously going straight to stage two or even more would cut down on your content and also need a larger initial financial investment…
Just an easy way to make more content, do it all separately and make a video for each. Otherwise agree would make sense to do all in one go.

That's a lot of work for a stage 1 on a modern car.
Stage 1 is just a software reflash
why were only front 2 wheels rolling on the dyno ? the 4 matic disengage due to heat?
We disconnect the 4MATIC System on the dyno to avoid unnecessary heat in the Rear Differential. We have found the figures are more accurate this way too!
I know there are lots of builds out there but to be honest does it not worry any one about going bang as no dealer or warranty will cover it , seems strange to modify such a special car in the first place as they are f quick to start with .

Looks to have gained 17hp recorded @ wheels from your standard runs and then an extra 19hp flywheel hp through a drag increase from an ecu tune. Looks odd.
Lad at EST needs a pay rise the guy knows his stuff
460hp on a 4cyl with nothing but a reg fuel tune is damn good👌🏻
The mk8 r makes similar power with just a tune.
Do you have to get special insurance when you tune your car...i.e Andrian Flux type etc?
You don’t need special insurance you just need to tell them that you have done it
ALL modifications must be declared to your insurance provider.......

@@MaackyD If the insurance provider finds out you have not been honest with them the cover will be declared "ab initio", which is Latin for "it never existed"..........
@Richard Sealey I crashed a car, complete write off, exhaust, almost every body mod and it was mapped. Got 30k in 2 weeks of waiting. So I'm talking from experience, not like a lot of people on here lmao

It's because the 4 Matic system is an on demand and not always on all wheel drive system i.e. it's not always all wheel drive like cars such as Subarus for example.

@monraypretorius3585 I was led to believe that all the cars of this type worked on the front drive bias system until all four wheels need drive
@@markrhoden68 correct. Golf R, S3, RS 3, Focus RS are all front bias hence me saying on demand. It's also the very reason why you shouldn't dyno in all wheel drive.

the 'horrible' sound is taken from the exhaust..it is not manufactured
For this engine ( M139 ) I prefer MSL as tuner I mean stage 1 they did 492 hp and 702 nm which is absolutely crazy if you think that is only software stock hardware 🤯
MSL figures have a lot of speculation involved
They have a very generous dynojet and conversion calculation
Take a look at the Draggy Leaderboards, that is all you need to know, Dyno Figures are subjective and a massive variable, we are within the top 3 on Draggy Worldwide, no other UK tuners are in that category.

@@budisa9923 m140’s are pretty quick little cars, Tuned ones are pretty quick are you disputing that? Why dont you go buy both an m140i, and an amg. Tune them, then test them? Plenty for sale, if i wanted to figure out their real numbers i would just go buy both them, tune them, then run them. I would do dragy, then take them to santa pod and compare both, why dont you do that? As i say plenty of both them for sale.
Why didnt you add aftermarket downpipe? Would that have given some more ponies ?
