Swapped my 7.5R to an A35 and hit the same problems as you. I went back to VAG with the 8R. So much more mods available especially with the TCU tunes. 420bhp from stage 1 and virtually no hardware. You’d be lucky to get 350 in an A35 plus the cylinder head would likely go. The A45s is a proper AMG 420 stock 👌
Besides from modifications any other problems from stock, like faults/reliability? I was thinking of doing the same with my 7.5R, but heard they're less reliable with random fault codes appearing.

w212 E class, c205, c204 and w204 C class are super reliable as well. Especially the c204 C63, w205 C43, w212 E400 (applies to E43 - E63) as well, pretty much bulletproof engines. The only thing is rust which was annoying while owning them but I have NEVER had any issues except for standard stuff like replacing spark plugs, water pump etc.
Good video as always, Luke. Dropping my 2 cents: Technically, the front licence plate isn’t legal if the name and postcode of the plate maker/printer isn’t being shown (in fine print) below the registration. Most police won’t care but it would definitely fail an MOT, which I found out the hard way!
I’ve got a Porsche 997 with the hardback sports seats they rub on centre console and rattle when there’s no passenger and unless there lowered to the floor you can’t let anyone in the rear without them hitting sun visors…

To put it like this, the difference between a brand new a45s and a new m3/m4 is only around 10k, 68k with full options in the UK so it's definitely up there, u In rs5, c63s and M3 category there.
Great video Can I ask if the lowering of the car made it more comfortable? I’ve currently got one on demo out the box and the spring rates are very firm even in comfort. Would be pleased to hear your thoughts

Funny you mentioned the T on the turbo badge, there was a brand new A45-S in the showroom and i noticed it had gone, I assume how you mentioned, when polishing with a mitt.
the rear wing of a45s has to be loose, like the new golf 8 gti clubsport and the golf 8r performance pack. the rear window can break if it is to tight. mods for the a45s arent really there because the car is expensive and the mods are expensive.
@@shotta2878y is good exterior is great! interior wise not so felt like the golf 8 which is oke but not for a audi that cost almost 100k. both audi rs3 8y and a45s 2022 were the same price i choose the a45s because for me it has the complete package interior and exterior. for people who dont care about interior i would say choose the rs3 8y if you want to tune it because stock with opf everything it doesnt sound great like the 8v.
I drove a 45s from Bristol to Manchester. The seats spoiled the whole trip. If I had one 1st mod I'd do is change or refurb the seats with extra padding. 2nd best 4 cylinder engine on the market behind Honda

AMG is built for racing 😅 go for regular Mercedes instead if you are looking for luxury. This car has a hard ride quality 😮 but a track machine that can destroy supercars on track
The fact that you're basically looking for errors in a perfectly built high premium car, show me a hatch better the A45S... I'll wait.... All I heard was negativity about the best well built car.🤦🏽♂️
Shocking build quality from a German car at that price point. Still, when you’re flat out down your favourite B road in it with a big grin on your face, you won’t worry about any of that 😁
Very good unbiased review. We had a 69 plate A35 Luke and I will say while a great machine overall, the interior while looking awesome is very cheap in places. We had a few switches just break off 😂 It was all sorted under warranty but the car wasn’t even a year old. Merc build quality is not what it once was! I personally think both the A35 and A45S are overpriced for what they are. I’ve got a 62 plate M135i now as a toy and the build quality is better! And the car cost 1/3 of what the A35 did! I feel these would be more popular if they didn’t cost so much. However the tuning game engine and TCU wise is poor for Mercedes. Far more you can do in the VAG and BMW scene. But I do respect the 45S, it’s an awesome bit of kit. But for the money I’d want it built better, like an RS3 👍🏼
4:29 Really that is awful. Mercedes should be ashamed of that low quality of an interior for that price. The M140i for example would never have had that issue.
Not sure about your comment about your seats, I had Konig MK4 R32 seats in my old golf and the a45s seats are way comfier. have you checked the settings because mine are super comfy - you may have the back support adjustment out of whack in your settings. I definitely agree with regards to the rear spoiler, at first I thought mine had been damaged after the very first rear hatch shut, I honestly thought it was going to fall off. One other thing I would have thought you'd mention is the rear defuser is a bit wonky too - well at least I feel mine is when I wash it by shoving a mitt down it feels like it might pop off, but is certainly fastened in tightly. I noticed you've done something to your steering wheel, I would like to mention on mine the yellow leather strip on the top of the steering wheel goes all grey and always looks dirty, i haven't found a way to return the original yellow back, it's just a dull grey yellowish/green/grey looking strip, looks crappolla. one grape of mine is "Hey Mercedes" 8 out of 10 times she can't do jacksh!t right now - incredibly frustrating. btw did you get your navi speed/camera point of interest loaded db? that is a good mod to have
Very balanced review as always enjoyed that. The interior on these looks epic but I can't get why they've left silver bits on the steering wheel. Makes it look very Mecano like. Also don't like the fake exhaust tips on a car that expensive but the rattles are part of most cars I feel. 500ps on a stage 2 car but as you say its limited by a lack of product availability. Maybe Mercedes could monopolise the gap. Best wishes look forward to one on your Mk7 R! 😂
i have an a220 and it creaks bad its super cringe worthy, if u have an a45s/cla45s u still have a220 quality interior which isnt great ur just paying more for the nice motor

Cylinder head is only an issue on the 19/20 plates A35's but still shouldn't be a issue on any car that new
plenty of mods only downside cost more than vw or even audi. the car can run 605 😮

Mine is also a little wobly. Looks like it could fall off with just a rough wipe

Is the A45s too stiff for daily driving?
I have no rattles at all in my cla, although I here it is very common in the cla and a class. Guess I was lucky with my build :)

There's a magnet in the passenger seat, on the side of seat, the seatbelt then sticks to the seat and doesn't rattle 👍

No your paying for so much more it has the best interior in any car I have seen. Not everyone has creaks
These care terrible quality, fast but couldn’t deal with all the rattles

Get an rs3 stage 2 sounds much nicer. But the new shape might set you back a bit more. Nevertheless these are also lovely cars.

A45s best super hatch by far. Interior build quality. There just superior to all others atm. Had a 69 plate rs3 saloon and the a45s is levels above.
