Broiled Chicken Recipe

  • Hi Guys, today I’m making a family recipe that I’ve been cooking for a long time. It’s very easy to prepare and the only vegetable you have to cut are onions. We’ll be using ground spices to save time and effort. All the ingredients are listed below:
    Chicken legs - 12 pieces - 3 lbs - 1.3 kg
    Onions - 2 large - 1 lb - 455 g
    Tomato Paste - 3 tablespoons
    Coriander Powder - 1.5 tsp
    Garam Masala - 1.5 tsp
    Garlic Powder - 1.5 tsp
    Chili Powder - ½ tsp or more to taste
    Ground Turmeric - ¼ tsp
    Butter - 2 tablespoons
    Oil - few tablespoons

    I don’t see the point of broiling chicken if you’re going to pull the skin off. The point of broiling chicken is crispy skin. But either way, nice spice blend.

      Not necessarily; it's basically grilling. Grilling doesn't always crisp food

    I like the recipe, looks yummy, I would add onions in last 10 mins just to avoid burnt taste!

    Seems a really good recipe! I think I would use a timer, first for 7 mins and then reduce to 5 mins...and keep checking!

    How long in what temperature do you cook the onions ? My broiler has Hi and Lo temp , wondering which one I should broil 25 minutes

    can i increase the cooking time without turning the chicken since i'm meal prepping?

      You can reduce the heat to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and cook turning just once halfway through 😁

    I know this video is since 2017, i might be late for this replay but i just came across it and tried it immediately, i even took some pictures .. i used breast, boneless, and skinless chicken. it was tender, yummy, flavourful and easy. but i might have put a lot of spices so it was too strong with flavours for me, but my husband loved it and asked if there was more..

      Hi, I use the broil setting in my oven. If your oven does not have a broil setting, use the highest temperature available. 😀

    Hi Anita what if I don't want to use the broiler and I just want to use the regular oven temp instead what would the temperature be and how long would I have the chicken legs in there for?

      +gioarias75 Hi, cook the chicken at the highest temperature your oven allows and turn over when one side is golden brown. The legs will take 20-30 mins to cook depending on your oven 😀

    I think by taking off skin the species can go deep in the chicken and broiling gives taste of grilled chicken.

    Hi there,Is the broil on low or hi?

      I chose high broil and placed the chicken several inches away from the broiler so chicken doesn’t burn. Low broil is fine too, you’ll have to spend less time turning chicken 😄

    Why, when you cut it open, did it look so much like a breast, or white meat? Is it possibly due to the 'darkness ' of the outside......by comparison? Looks yummy.       Hi, I cooked the chicken on the broil setting in my oven. If you don’t have that setting in your oven, cook at 500 degrees Fahrenheit or close to it 😀

      If you don’t have a broil setting in your oven, use 425 degrees Fahrenheit/218 Celsius. Cook until done, turning once. Enjoy 😉

    Everyone I know bakes their chicken in the oven and they never use the broiler.. A few friends said that you can't use the broiler because you will burn it.. Me I've never bake it.. I always crack my oven door a little bit using a spoon or something metal.. And that's also how I make BBQ Ribs.. I'm going to try your recipe because it looks kicking.. The other day a friend made BBQ chicken and it looked weird.. I called it spotted BBQ chicken, because he only used one spoon or BBQ sauce and he didn't spread it out.. One little dab right dead center of the chicken.. Lol.. I was like damn dude what is that, are we running low on BBQ sauce? Nope he had plenty.. And he doesn't use a brush..

      One more thing, And I like how the broiler will caramelize the bbq sauce.. You can't get that when you bake it..

      It’s cooked on the broil setting. If your oven doesn’t have broil setting, bake at 425 Fahrenheit and turn pieces once or twice during cooking 😁
