What this is called is perfect self promotion. If I had not put that buffer bead on the wrong way round then you wouldn't have commented, thus my UA-cam traffic numbers would be less and I'd appear less in searches haha.....
Or at least that's my excuse 🤣

Push the swivel end of the trace through the tail so the fish is hanging tail first from it,that way less cahne of it coming off when casting or reeling in.

Thanks for the comment, what u would say is that I have tried that a few years ago and I found 2 problems.
The first being it was tricky trying to get the swivel through a fully frozen bait and secondly when the bait was retrieved and re cast, the wire cut through the thawed flesh n the bait came off.
I find with using bait elastic, the elastic holds tight on the frozen bait and as I wrap it round quite a bit a bit after the bait has thawed the elastic constricts and keeps a firm hold of the bait.
I'm back out on Sunday for some more distance fishing 👍

@@fftfishing I use a thick piece of wire bent over an inch at the end thread the swivel on that and push it through no problem on frosen baits or you could use a baiting needle.Maybe make the hole a little further down so not right at the end of the tail and of course it depends on what fish you use I find it's okay with Herring and even more so with Mackrel but Lamprey are a bit soft so maybe push it through and tie it on too.If you by fresh fish and freeze them yourself then maybe make the hole before freezing or if you use frozen then put one or two in the microwave on defrost so it's semi frozen just before you set out .

Can I ask, what it is you are distance casting to? Have you used a sonar or depth finder? Or are you just casting to range because it gets deeper? Thanks

Hi, I spent a day in the summer with a marker rod. There's a steady decline until you hit around 60 yards then the decline gets steeper so anything beyond 60yards is getting you to where you really need to be (without the use of a bait boat)
