If anyone is not getting communication to work - double check your patches on the Blueprint Mesh side. I had everything else set up right and it wasnt working and it turns out I just didnt patch that specific light (which happened to be the first one he plays with) haha. But it works now. Seriously great video.

Hi yes in the latest versions of chamsys we no longer have that option. If basic settings of unreal engine and chamsys are in place then it should connect easily.

Hi I'm guessing this could be happening here in your case.. After hitting play if you click on viewport the cursor control the screen and moves. to stop that Press shift+f1 to come out of cursor mode.. Hope that helps.

I understand that after hitting 'Play' the cursor controls the screen and it moves until you press 'Shift+F1' The problem I see, is when I click 'Play'.....the screen moves to a position away from the view I was looking at (without me moving the cursor). Referring to your video, time stamp 19.04....when you click 'Play' the viewport stays as it is. When I click 'Play' my viewport changes view????? Is this a setting somewhere?
Oh I get it it could be the player position try dragging it to the desired spot so wherever the player position is placed that's where the camera will show.. Try moving it back... I'm sure you have seen that it's a joystick like symbol with an arrow.. Try moving that and hit play.. That could have caused the view change.. Check whether this helps.

Hi yes that usually happens when you have both the application in the same computer. You will have to toggle between two windows.. Unreal would appear simulating things slow but as soon as you click on unreal window (make it active) it will be normal.. If you have two monitor it would be easy to extend and keep things separate but single monitor could be annoying.. Try keeping unreal and chamsys side by side. You can also try installing chamsys on a 2nd computer and trigger from there via network. But make sure to have the IP address of unreal configured in chamsys for it to work. Hope that helps.
Go to editor settings - General - Performance: Use Less CPU when in Background - Remove the tick here and the view will no longer brake when switching.
I have a problem with DMX Matrix Fixture. The button to 'Generate Preview Mesh' is not working for me. I checked it in DMX template UE 4.27. It does not generate mesh for nor Static Matrix nor Moving Matrix. Do you know how to fix it maybe? @Rajashekar Techy
Hi just making sure in DMX library for matrix you had selected appropriate fixture type as matrix, mode is added, matrix Size is defined eg 1X5 or 5X5 to which three functions RGB is added, patched and then in your viewport matrix fixture is linked to its corresponding patch and dmx library.. when the above said points are done and mesh size is defined then the generate preview mesh works. check whether if there is any miss in above steps.
@@RajashekarTechy I've tried to do it before linking to library and that is the issue. However I have another technical question. When I use Sharpies, it seems to work fine until I change speed to something very low. What happens then is strange jittering movement. It's like slowing down 25p by 50% to 12.5. Have you encoutered something similar? I tried to modify Pan and Tilt component in Movinghead blueprint because it has two parameters: "Interpolation Scale" and "Skip threshold". Changing interpolation scale from default "1,05" to e.g. "0,1" lets doing slow head movement but it cannot be speed up as before then. It seems like there is no golden mean. Do you have any idea? Do you have any Discord DMX lighting related? Thank you.
Hi try dropping all the sharpies quality from details tab to low or medium and test it to see whether you encounter the same.. When you are ready to render set it back to high quality.. You are triggering the light from Chamsys right. Also check whether this settings is in place in UE. gotoEdits-->settings-->preferences-->general-->Performance--->Uncheck use less CPU when in background. I Dont use discord though.
@@RajashekarTechy Yes, I am triggering from Chamsys. I think that you point a right direction. There may be a performance drop for some reason when multiple lights are moving slowly. I do not know why tho. I will test it. Thank you.
Im unsure on patching laser in Chamsys at the moment. There should be a generic fixture for it. Will keep you posted on it If I Come across. If you are using Unreal Engine along with Chamsys. Howcome unreal only recognises universe 0 with magic q? i patched the light to universe 1 and it cam through on unreal in universe 0? if i change the universe on magic q to universe 2 or any others unreal doesnt recognise any input
Hi Im unsure but just guessing possibly the default external port/universe has been set to 0 but that can be changed within unreal as well which I haven't explored it yet.
@@RajashekarTechy I foud that i had to set in controller settings the universe at the bottom to 0 which allowed me to use universe 1 but still cant use multiple universes atm

@@pomelftofficial8411 You can still use the new version of MagicQ. They've renamed the option to "Net host options". I got stuck on this too. I'm just doing it right now. I think you need to set it to "Normal + Loopback IP"
Hi looks like there is some issue with automatic subtitling on this video. I have re-enabled it lets see it should work when you play it next time. Try again after a while if you don't see the subtitle.
oh I see not sure what else could be causing this... is it like suddenly stopped working or never worked? will have to check as to why it's not working... hope you are trying using chamsys method(in dmx library check whether starting universe address is 0 see if it's that helps) ....try level sequencer method with just 1 light and see if it works..

I agree there were lot of cuts just to reduce loading times but not to worry everything which is needed to get started with Chamsys from top you will find it here. What you will not notice is me going and clicking on app icons i.e magic q pc which is name of Chamsys program :)

Hi BP I haven't explored it yet will plan to put a separate tut on simulating dmx using bp as well sometimes soon.

Magic Q version 1.9.1.6 does not have the "Send to Applications on the PC" I am not sure If the DMX is actually being sent? Is there a work around?

Yes this is one of the method using Chamsys as shown. There are other similar programs too.

Hi in chamsys goto setup-- view system settings and DMX io tab-- enable all the universe you prefer. Now it will work.

Hi it's usually under settings--> network in chamsys. Check whether you see it else will send you a snap on it

Ok, still struggling to get MagicQ to communicate with Unreal, but I 'think' that's the right option

you didnt make it very obvious how to get into chamsys it just cuts and you already have it open
