If I was to build a arcade machine (big box, buttons and joystick) are there games that can be used with the joystick etc and then maybe keep a controller to the side for controller games ? Would be cool to have it have all of them in one
I know it's been a year since you commented this, but there are tons of great adapters for the X-Arcade to make this work easily and plenty of arcade boards support PC, console, and RPi options, you'd be best off with one that maps the board to X-input.
Hi there. I have a Pi 3 which I have set up with Retropie. I like the look of some of these builds you mention as getting games to work can be a tedious process. I wonder if there are any somewhat smaller image files to try? 64gig would be about as high as I want to get, as I don't have a lot of space on my PC to play with.
I have a question. I have a retropie handheld. The SD card that came with it is not in English, so I bought a SD card with everything in English. When I put the new card in It boots up just like original and the games play fine except the dpad and buttons seem disabled. I have to plug in my USB controller to play, and that defeats the handheld point. When I put the old SD card back in it plays fine using the portable dpad and buttons. So, how to map so when the new SD card is in I can play using the buttons and dpad on the portable?
File needs to be torrented, then written on an sd card with etcher, then download the roms, then add the roms manually into the emulator files within RetroPie, and launch your Rasberry Pie. Not hard, but maybe if you’re a big time noob.
I don't know what your using for Dreamcast emulation. I have a pi 3b+ I've tried reicast and it stutters bad on every game I tried. There was a another Dreamcast emulator I forgot what it was, not redream but something else. If you can get most Dreamcast games to not stutter on a raspberry pi 3b+ tell me what you did. I'm dying to play marvel vs Capcom 2 WWF Royal Rumble and power stone without stutters.
@DrewTalks are you aware of an image which comes with cheats installed/enabled for all console and arcade platforms? I dont have a lot of time to game so when I do have time, its fun to use god mode and other cheats to beat games. Thx man!
Im so new to this I don't even know where to start. How do I go about finding this? Can someone like me to a site so I can give them money? Is it just plug-and-play or does it require some type of programming?
One question: Does Noe Geo work out of the box on this? I have a RP3 and retro pie, but can't get controllers working for neo geo. If i install this will everything work straight away?
What I don't understand is that how the hell do dreamcast games work fine where the N64 games run moody. Considering the specs of both machines u would assume that the dreamcast games would cause the issues, even my gpd Pro runs dc nicely whereas the N64.......
N64 is very hard to emulate because it has a different architecture, like RISC compared to ARM. I guess you could say that it executes the code differently.
This particular build only runs on pi 3. In my opinion the only thing a pi 4 can do better is it can run more n64, dream cast, and psp games. If that's something you want then get a pi 4.
How would one get a retropi image to work on their Gamepi43, as far as the actual keypad. Recallbox seems to work fine, but retropi images just never work unless I plug in a USB controller? It is so frustrating

I haven't done any RetroPie stuff in like 3 years, can anyone help a guy out and tell me what the best 128GB image is rn?
Will this build work well with the Pi 3?
Waiting on m 512 card to show up. Anyone catch what theme that is? I like that hyperpi look.
Anyone know if this has RetroFlag Snespi safe shut down code already written in?
What is the best least inexpensive 512 SD card that can be used for this? Is it possible to boot off a hard drive to boot the retro image?
