I COULD be wrong but I think that the wave action was happening because you need a stretch needle when sewing through knits!
I used a ballpoint needle, I’m not sure if that’s the same as a stretch needle but I’ll research more on this, thanks!

I honestly sometimes just do what feels easiest in the moment 😅
That being said, feel free to do the DIY in whatever way you like - if you’d prefer to take the extra length from the hem, DO IT! It’s your DIY and you make all the rules 😉 I simply make these videos as a rough guide.
