Ice House follows the story of two friends, Grant and Wayne, on one night’s excursion to a fish house on a frozen Minnesota lake for an evening of camaraderie. What seems to be a harmless outing between two friends slowly evolves into a murderous plot between two men, both with hidden secrets and mysterious agendas.

Not a horror movie. I'm not your typical thriller movie either. But this was truly a completely different type of plot that I've never seen before and it was an excellent movie
Loved it, enough twists and turns to keep you interested until the end.
It's a good movie and worth watching. If you think it's a bit slow, keep with it. Good story , thumbs up from me!
I usually get bored with movies like this, but the acting was really good and kept me glued to the video from beginning to end. The twists and turns were predictable, but NOT predictable. I enjoyed this.
It wasn't creepy at all, thank goodness. Spellbinding & suspenseful story, unique plot, great acting, thrilling, chilling! Enjoy!!

This is a great movie. Most of it consists of two men in a room, but it's more tense and suspenseful than most movies with gun battles and car chases. Good old-fashioned storytelling.
Enjoyed this and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Good old fashioned suspense thriller. Something Hitchcock would have done. The scenery was great and the whole icy theme was perfect for this. The husband was great and reminds me of a young Bryan Cranston , and was really quite funny in a zany psychotic sort of way...I laughed out loud at him quite a few times....and was at the same time frightened by him....good tension there... and the marine played a brooding quiet type so well. The twists and turns....great! Thanks for a great night in, that didn't cost a thing.

I'm late to this but wow... this is one incredibly well-made film. From plot, acting, environment, perfect filming... this had me hooked. Desperately hoping I will forget it soon so I can re-watch but kind of doubt it!

Wow luxury ice house. Far cry from ice fishermen cutting a hole in the ice in a shack the size of an outhouse!!
You got that right! Nicer than my Travel Trailer I live in. Gave me Great idea's for gutting my place and remodeling! I do have a complete fully functioning bathroom though.
For sure, didn't know this is how rich guys "rough it". Not sporting at all or testing oneself against the elements in a manly way. Felt sorry for the fish.
I've never understood the attraction to ice fishing. You're out on the middle of a frozen lake all cooped up in a little hut with some dude drinking beer all weekend. Sounds dreadful to me, and I've lived in Minnesota my whole life thus far. I abhor Winter; I absolutely hate the cold, the snow and the ice. It's like being in a frozen hell, stumbling around in the deep snow trying to stay warm while brushing snow off the car after a snowfall almost every other day!
The twist at the end is incomprehensible. This is a spoiler comment by the way so don't read if u haven't watched the movie. She had live cameras at the cabin but how did one camera manage to record and keep one static image even after the cabin had curved in?
Am happy because the ending was confusing

@@CreativeKids2023, you are correct we shot in the Brainerd Lakes area. We shot in Garrison, MN and on Lake Mille Lacs. We shot most of the exterior ice (fish) house scenes about a mile out on the lake. When we sunk a section of the ice house we were about 1/4 mile out. It was darn cold the night we shot the ice house sinking (about 40 below wind chill) plus blizzard conditions. The cast and crew did an an amazing job. I actually thought it was filmed on gull lake but good to know it was mille lacs. Sounds like quite a venture I'm sure that was all really interesting. What a movie good story the plot and twist kudos to all the people behind this movie.
What an interesting, intense movie! Both men are relatable characters. The epic storytelling is classy. The many turning points make this a true thriller. Simply one of the best thrillers I've ever seen.

It's hard to believe Wayne is a marine.
Not at all. The USMC alumni are everywhere. Many you come across never fit “a cookie cutter mold.” Its often said “the military is the greatest equalizer ever.” Its true. What is tragic is when people are in, or, after their service is done, and they fall into the dregs of society.
(Fall to drugs, gangs, crime. All spell the most unpleaant end of a military career or tour of duty.)
The Corps strips everyone down to a common baseline upon entry. And quickly rebuilds them. As individuals, and as parts of a team. It leaves intact the best qualities, it builds on the virtues and adds like building blocks stacked on,
The Marine Corps values. A real, true to the Corps Marine is an example of one damn fine citizen. Patriotic and as honest as the day is long. Having maturity often far beyond their usually young years. A highly skilled and motivated combatant. Yet, self-restrained, self-boundaried, and self-disciplined. Polite in society.
But, the reality is, Marines are people first. Subject to all the virtues and pitfalls of humanity. Some Marines truly excel. They “find a home” or “their niche” in the Corps, they function extremely well in its highly structured environment. They are ahead of the curve in awards, promotions and assignments. These Marines often get the plumb assignments, schools, promotion points and respect of their superiors and subordinates.
Then, there are the Marines who are just there to do their time, finish their hitch, and get back to the easy civilian life.
They’re “marking time.” Many are in for the college money promised after fulfillment of their enlistment contract.
The third category consists of “the shitbirds.” ‘Nuff said about them.
The movies create an image of all Marines as brainwashed, one dimensional robots always looking for a fight. Hard drinking, usually to excess.
The other military branches each have their place. Their necessity and expertise.
The Corps stands apart as far as discipline, rigidity and formality of tradition. The Marine Corps uniform is by-far the benchmark of excellence.
“It pops.”
@@cw2gtc Wayne wasn't hard drinking (he poured out his beer when he went out to urinate, he poured another down the fish hole, he was on Margarita 1 when Brad was finishing his 3rd and Wayne didn't want another) and he had his Moral Values in tact. As you said, Military breaks people down and rebuilds them. In Waynes Case, he was lost without the structure of the Marines. He was easily coerced by this twisted couple. At movies end, he had completed every task that was asked of him. He was very disciplined.
In my comment I had said he IS the Innocent Hero in this movie.
