OMG people, chemistry is real. Throwing a bunch of random chemicals in a bowl is a great way to get chemical burns and wreck the Ph of your hair, never mind try to control the actual color that your hair turns out.
I think I led a more sheltered hair colouring life than I thought! Madness 😮😂

I did many awful things with my hair when I was a teenager, but baking soda with 40 vol? Hell no.
And of course she doesn't show the back! She took fine sections on top and some of the front side, but man I KNOW the rest was an absolute patchy mess and she was NOT gonna show it lol. 😂
I used to lighten my hair with 40 volumes and 12.11 hair dye because I was afraid of bleach. Now I find out that bleaching my hair with blonde me and 20 volume gives me 5 levels of lift and less damaging. Please do not be afraid of that powder. Just be careful of the volume of the developer.
Exactly, It's 30 and 40 vol developer that will eat hair, when bleaching I always stuck mostly to 10 vol and sometimes 20 nothing above that

Blonde me didn't lift my hair enough 30 vol I usually use Jerome Russell born blonde in one session lifts my hair enough been using it since I was a teenager I tried blonde me because I heard people saying how good it was I think the ola Plex stuff they put in it waters the bleach down too much making it more 20 volume I would not mind my hair is a mid level brown with 50 percent grey and it was orange
What on earth? She's just pouring peroxide in with 40 volume and baking soda. Its like a random chemistry experiment on her hair?
That's dangerous if you don't know what you're making too. And I highly doubt this girl is a chemist.

Ugh. Whyyyyyy?!?!? For the price she paid for that big bag of baking soda (about $20) she could've bought actual little packet of bleach and a bottle of developer.
40 vol?! Any lift she will get is from that, not the baking soda🤦
I was just thinking that. What's the deal with not using an actual hair bleach, rather than a raising agent/mild abrasive that is absolutely not for bloody well lifting hair.
A bucket of bleach powder costs about the same as the bag of baking soda.

When I was young, My lightheaded (we were all either blonde, or strawberry) friends and I would put a SMALL amount of peroxide in our conditioner (rinse out) during the summer, to keep the green chlorine ting out of our hair. It worked really well, except for the one time my friend put alot of peroxide AND lemon juice in her LEAVE IN conditioner - Her VERY odd colored blonde hair looked like a brillo pad! Needless to say, she never did that again, lol
Baking soda is just as if not more damaging to your hair than bleach could ever be. I don't understand the baking soda trend. I tried it to remove semi-permanent color before. Not only did it not work, my hair felt HORRID afterward.

Funny story: when I was a teenager, I would use peroxide, baking soda, and shampoo to bleach my hair. It made it feel like straw and by high school I had to chop it all off. Now I stuck to 20 vol and bleach powder

I accidentally got splashed with peroxide solution as a kid. The bit that got in my hair bleached it almost immediately, an orange-yellow color. It weakened the hair too. Some 😊fell out with brushing. I stay far away from that stuff.
I just cringe when anyone uses baking soda - it will destroy your hair ,dry it out and utterly fail .

I appreciate my hair way too much for this type of treatment. I’m always gentle with my hair. I stopped covering my natural gray and I always have gotten compliments on my hair. It’s just as thick and shiny now as when I was in my 20’s. Go to a professional! Save up money if you have to or at least find a home hairdresser that knows what to do and how to do it. Don’t take your hair for granted!!!!
Right! I used to dye my hair in my teens and twenties and never got compliments on it. Now in my 40's with long, natural brown with lots of grey streaks, I get compliments on it most times I go out and people even think I'm younger than I am.
I'm pampering my natural grey, too! So few women do it, that I doubt myself, at times. But I know that healthy and shiny always wins.
I've never been one to try covering my grey. But now that I have enough of it, I've been experimenting with direct dyes... and I love it so much! And no damage at all!
Man. I remember when I mixed 30 volume developer, baking soda and period together trying to remove the color from my hair. I then proceeded to put a bag over my head. The amount of fire I was feeling inside that bag was next level but I thought, oh maybe it's really working. All while starting to feel really concerned. Left it on my head for over 20 min then realized that I had messed up. Touched my hair and it just melted off. I panicked and ran to wash it out. It was all falling out into my hands. I was DEVASTATED. IT ALL ENDED WITH ME BEING COMPLETELY BALD 🤣 Lesson learned

Please, care about your hair. I have very thin hair and I have three friends with alopecia. Two of them wear wigs. Having a good head of hair is a blessing.
Yes, I usually have a decent amount of fine hair, but I got lupus a few years ago. Have been in a flare for two months and the amount of hair loss is unsettling to say the least. I may be breaking out my wigs soon; haven't needed them in about three years.
I bleached some hair with baking soda and peroxide. It worked but the hair was crunchy afterward. I only used the houses hold peroxide.

He’s so right about not caring until your hair falls out. I never thought I’d care that much about my hair until I got alopecia as a side effect of medication. I was in tears when I realised my hair was falling out. I can’t imagine how upset I’d be if my hair was falling out because I fried it with a home bleach job 🙈
😂😂😂I bleached my hair in 1991 with straight liquid Peroxide. Nothing else. Just poured the bottle over my head and rubbed it in.
Washed it out, was left with honey gold hair. Not orange, not yellow, not broken.
I grew it out thou lol😂

I have to say, this is probably the first video I ever seen when someone leaves any kind of bleach on for HOURS and it DOESN'T make all the hair melt off, so that's a thing. o_O (I still wouldn't do that, her hair must be very strong!)
I heard an opinion that bleach basically stops working when it dries- that's why all that shipping bags around. Her mix looked pretty dry from the beginning so maybe it was what saved her
She didn't use bleach. It was just peroxide and baking soda.
