  • This is the 3rd Krown rustproofing treatment on my 2021 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. I get it treated annually at Krown rustproofing in Rochester hills, Mi. I show the bottom of the truck and it is absolutely rust free after over 2 years of Michigan salt and weather. Awesome product and company, they have always treated my truck and myself very good.

I also go to Krown in Rochester Mi. Live in Macomb Twp. My truck is 2018 and is rust free. They do a great job and love their service. I brought this video up to show my 16 year old daughter to show her what we doing to the very clean 2015 vehicle I bought here to keep it clean. Nice video.

Krown is the best! The problem with the dripless stuff is that it doesn't get everywhere. You need a product with a low enough viscosity to penetrate the same areas that rust causing moisture will. The mess from krown is a small price to pay for a completely coated vehicle.

I agree. I just purchased a new used vehicle from Colorado and it is pretty rust free, but I'll get it Krowned before the winter while it is still hot here so the oil will creep into everything. I may even do it twice the first year just because it's an older vehicle.

@@woodtickgreg6926 if you only do one application a year, as is the norm, the best time is in spring when the weather warms up and they stop salting the roads.

is Krown better than rust check? in my area I only have rust check, but if Krown is better I'm willing to drive.

Ya know I honestly don't know. I try to avoid the whole which one is the best argument. There's lots of good products out there now. I believe just apply some kind of non hardening oil product to your vehicle. I like the Krown treatment, it's reasonably priced and I get under the vehicle every year and I don't see much rust at all. I only drive my truck when the weather is bad and I live in the rust belt so in my opinion it's a great product. I can't really speak for any other products because I don't have any experience with them, but I do with Krown.

Good job on the panels. I didn't seem him do behind the plastic in the wheel wells though? Or under the hood more plastic need to do under. Looks like he avoided removing the skid plate but still got behind it. Good on the rockers.
Some panels are galvanized anyway, can't tell you which ones. I would expect the cab corners and fenders but not sure. The frame are mixed with zinc now to prevent rust. But yeah I'd definitely still do it. Your frame is c channel except the very front is boxed. Doing in the boxed part is a good idea. I think they do a fairly good job (mostly) Its the krown chemical itself i don't think is very good. I just do it myself. Stopped going to places.

Well I didn't film every single detail but I assure you that everything was treated. And galvanized steel can still rust. You are entitled to your own opinion but I find the crown product to be excellent when treated annually. Do what you wish but I will continue to protect my truck with Krown products here in the rust belt. They treat areas of the vehicle that I can't possibly do on my own. The whole process takes less than an hour, I can't do it that efficiently for the modest $150 total that I pay. My time is worth more than that. And they do treat inside the boxed section of the frame.

@@woodtickgreg6926 i just do it myself. More confidence in it, and what i use. I get that most people probably aren't inclined too do it themself. It's really not difficult, but it can be messy.

@itsallminor6133 oh I'm very inclined, but my time is worth more. I have better things to do with what little precious time I have. I watch them do the entire process and I can see that they do a very thorough job and don't cut corners.

Galvanized steel is a deterent but not a guarantee against rust. Most vehicles in Michigan rust out in 10 years or so. I'll continue to use Krown in addition to the factory treatments. All I can tell you is when I get under the truck to do maintenance there is no signs of rust or corrosion.
