I can not express how much I love Mel. She has helped me more than any other speaker, motivational guru, or life coach. I seek out her stuff ALL the time. I love her! She doesn't even know I exist, and that is OK, I thank the Lord for her and HE knows that I know she exists and that she helps me and many many other people. There is a special place in Heaven for her and her sweet spouse. She is an example of someone who has walked the walk.I have a ton of respect for her!
"You're not a worrier. You have a habit of worrying... You're not a procrastinator. You have a habit of procrastinating." Blew my mind. Makes total sense. This video spoke to me 110%
THANK YOU, LEWIS. Love your videos.
In my mind its the same thing your just changing the name of it. A worrier has a habit of worrying. So same thing just different cover.
El Jay a person who drives a car is called a driver.
She actually doesn't say anything special, she just changes how to say it a bit. I get it helps her to get her point across to make people change their perspective but if you already have that perspective it kinda looks stupid. But can't blame her lots of MS do it.
Yes but that does not change the fact that if you worry alot that you are a worrier. Cause if not then the word worrier has no meaning.
But it kinda is cause she used it.
Since seeing Mel first on another Impact Theory and then here, I've been 5-4-3-2-1-ing like crazy and it's radically changing my life. I've gotten more done on my 'procrastination list' in the past ~6 weeks than in the past year - honestly. I'm making phone calls I dreaded. Mel Robbins is brilliant. Thank you Lewis.
Good for you! I'm proud of you! Keep up the awesome work!
Wow! I'm already 57 years old and the same number of years of procrastinating. But it's not too late to be the best of what I am. In 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, I'll be go! go! go! Thanks a million Mel and Lewis.
"You think that you need to feel confident or courageous in order to get started. You don't. You actually just have to start, and that's the riddle of life." #goldennugget :)
24:28 "You think that you need to feel confident or courageous in order to get started. You don't. You actually just have to start, and that's the riddle of life."
Man.. She is so so rightly confident and explained it all in the simplest possible way. One must listen this in their down time!! highly recommended.
Mel Robbins is such a relate-able human being. She makes me understand why there are so many obstacles I have yet to overcome and now I will work at this everyday! Thank you Mrs. Robbins for helping me to understand that you have to put the work in and earn your life. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you Lewis for having such a great talk here!

"MEL ROBBINS" ~ "IS JUST SIMPLY AMAZING" .. She is all herself, completely natural, honest to the core and EXCITING beyond anything I've seen or heard .. We can't get enough of her wisdom and talent .. She's also a ton of "FUN"
8:48 "One of the most important things that I want people to understand is that you're actually not a worrier, you have a habit of worrying." That's when I started paying attention.
Video was amazing....but just wanted to say how wonderful for you and your husband for evolving and growing and changing together instead of giving up on one another and going your separate ways. It takes a lot of guts to choose each other instead of yourselves!!!
I need the 5 second rule to start saying the 5 second rule...that’s the level of my procrastinating habit
Yep. Same
Saaaaame
I have followed Tony Robbins for years and that's how I came across Lewis's podcasts. This podcast came up after a Tony Robbins podcast I was listening to. I had never heard of Mel Robbins so I was just halfway listening to the podcast as I was working. I went back and replayed this podcast and sat down and listened to it! This lady is amazing! I live off-grid and own an organic farm and plant nursery in Tennessee. I don't own a tv or cellphone. I used to listen to Rich Roll's podcasts while working in my greenhouses. I've now added Lewis Howe's podcasts to my playlist! It takes a lot to get me to sit down and watch anything but I plan to watch all of Lewis's podcasts! He is one of the best interviewers I've seen!
Jerry Snelling are mel and Tony related?
I'm sharing this with my real estate team. Best Mel Robbins interview in my opinion. Met Lewis Howes in Austin two years ago and after you spoke - it was obvious you where tired and a with a cold but you personally greeted every single person who stood in line to meet you - very genuine and authentic person Aloha from Hawaii!
She is one of the people who gave me total clarity that why do we screw ourselves over and over again! And most importantly how to stop doing that! Thank u mel and thank u Lewis for inviting her!!
Success is failure without fulfillment
I went through postpartum and peri-menopause concurrently and it was horrific . . . I never took any meds, I hiked and joined a Parenting the Infant Class . . . nature and a support group of other new moms saved my life. My baby is now 21 so that memory is far behind me . . . I wish I'd known what Mel talks about and what I've learned from Landmark, Tony Robbins, and now Brooke Castillo and Mel, you and others: Thoughts = feelings/emotions = actions . . . control your thoughts, control your emotions, control your actions. Thanks for this interview Lewis!
so sweet when she gets choked up about her husband
Dear Mel you are one of those powerful females that change the world . I'm honored to be your fan before you got this show because going through this journey together is a proof of what you preach. You touched my heart like no other. In case no one told you today "I LOVE YOU" ❤️❤️
This woman is awesome. I'm sure she will help a lot of women. She is enough for this era. Women are coming to the fore.
💕💕🙏🙏🥰🥰
5 4 3 2 1... It works to kill my procrastination self. This video brings such a great value to my life.

I love Lewis's acknowledgement of Mel's hard work & inspirational attitude. It takes courage to acknowledge greatness, what a lovely guy. An thank you Mel for improving my mindset, just a little bit more. Truly loved this. Xxx
I can not tell you how much I appreciate this video...I thought it would be too long and repetitive, having watched many Mel videos, but time code index is SO GREAT, THANK YOU.
This is the first time I’ve heard of Mel Robbins. She is fantastic!
WOW!Thank you.I am not a worrier ,i have the habit of worrying.Thank you for this.
"...to interrupt all the garbage that can trigger you to behave un a way that is inconsistent with your values..." that spoke volume to me ..thank u both Lewis and Mel for this awesime podcast ...imm ahve to countdown for myself to go to study now and change my life .
This spoke volumes to me as well. This is new to me yet I like the idea of the interruption being so quick 5,4,3,2,1
I use the countdown to remove my anger. I used to have such an anger issue, but I count down, and tell my brain that I'm physically ok, I'm not hurt, its the other person who has an issue.
I tell myself that it's ok to be upset, just react in a way that pushes yourself back into work
I really don't know how I ended up here to this video. But I do know last night what I secretly prayed about came up in this video as a solution to try.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I love her! I've been counting backward for 10mins lol! Jk but I agree 100% that during most mornings I have that Golden minute that I never build on. This will change God willing!
"There is only one you, and there will only ever be one you." Beautiful and true!
60 minutes ago I'd never heard of Mel Robbins. I am grateful to you, the universe, UA-cam whoever, I am just grateful that she came up on my feed, she's amazing. I was drawn in by her story and inspired by her vision. Thank you Lewis
this woman is genius
By the way, there's ONE simple trick you can do to get out of bed immediately without all the delay justifications... Put your alarm clock outside of the bedroom. That's it. Why making it complicated... You can't stand that noise, you will have to get up. I had the same issue with snoozing for years and since I have the clock outside of the bedroom for about two years now, I get up in ONE second literally saying every time "oh yes, let's do this". And you already have an immediate, no procrastination start for the day, which you will feel throughout the day.... try it out, free tip from me :-)
Andreas Roos Ha - I moved the alarm clock across the bedroom 23 years ago. Getting up at 5:15 a.m. this still works to move me into mental action also.
I agree that it helps a lot. I still have to put a lot of effort into not going to sleep again :D so I also need to add brushing my teeth immediately. After that, I am awake
I seriously love her message.
She is doing an amazing job.
I feel like her method could help me move out of some major stuckness.
Had I discovered this video, I could have spared a DECADE of a rollercoaster of mental health. This would have "empowered" me.
I am at the pushing stage - gets better & easier every day! Do it!!
Lewis, thank you for these interviews! You have no idea how much your channel has helped me go for it! A million thanks!
Yes Lewis!! Thank you so much! The information on your channel can literally transform you!
I agree....your channel has changed my life. If you only knew....
Essence C awesome
Fabulous! Perhaps the most helpful, inspiring and changing video and its content for my life. By the way its the first time I make a comment ... using the 5 second rule . Thank you!
“Mastery over ourselves” is definitely the greatest achievement!
I saw Mel at the ASSE conference in Denver last month. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Very inspiring! And, Lewis, this was the first time I see or hear your podcasts. You are THE MAN!!! Loved it!
Absolutely LOVE Mel Robbins. This is some of the best advice I have ever taken in. So happy to have found you wonderful influencers. Keep it up! And THANK YOU!
Astonishing value here. I am no longer (some things that wd bore ppl) after this, now stepping into my own greatness. Immense gratitude. I will do the right thing and buy the book.
The greatest is simple and love than you can imagine and understand. Thanks you Lewis and Mel Robbins
Mel Rocks. 20 years of listening to Tony Robbins, Les Brown, Jim Rohn, Wayne Dyer and it all boils down to a 5-second rule. Who knew ?!!
Lewis! This is an amazing interview. I stumbled upon this interview by "accident", and it was exactly what I needed to hear TODAY! Also, it was an aha moment for me when you talked about how you never filled up the 3rd cup! I have been doing the same thing between cup 1 and cup 2 and just never felt like it/I was ever enough! Thank you for being that kind of vulnerable! It made me realize that is what the missing ingredient is! Anyway, I can't thank you and Mel enough for this interview.
One is the best conversations I've listened to all time! Thank you Lewis. I share the same passion & calling to help others discover what makes them so wonderful
I only discovered your channel a few months ago, but it's a real pleasure to be able to go back through your library and find gems like this one. Thanks for all the work you've done!
What a sweetheart under that butt-kicking-coach-exterior :) Bless her for sharing this wisdom with the world

To me, Confidence Grows Out Of Competence -- Knowing What You Can Do Effectively. The More Skilled You Become, The More Confidence You Have.
You don't know how badly I needed to hear 5-4-3-2-1 ! I appreciate all your guests, Lewis. I really like how you individualize your guests, especially with the last two questions you always ask. Well done.
The inner wisdom aka the voice of your conscience aka the voice of your Creator: God who loves you and wants to save you

Mel you got me through my day with new approach using the 5 sec rule to bring my focus back to center
i love this incredibel woman such amazing human😍😍
She is so amazing! Her 5 Second rule helped me upload more videos on UA-cam and I'm now recording the songs I wrote!! I'm so excited
Lewis,
Great interview with Mel Robbins. As someone who run a business and is trying "to get out there", who speaks to people all day, this makes sense!! Thank you! You have great shows!!
She has really nice eyes.
That's so crazy, 6 months ago I had some health issues which caused panic attacks for the first time in my life. I had to go on Ativan and later Zoloft too. I'm happy she shared that because it feels taboo to talk about. Especially, at 32. I'm definitely going to check out her book.
Bought it! :)
Missa McFadden Mel said in another one of her talks that if she had diabetes, she'd have to monitor the way her body metabolizes sugar. She said with panic attacks, it's like diabetes, it's just how her body responds to stress. Which is so true. Nothing to be self-conscious about. I now tell people I suffered from them because maybe my sharing may help someone else too. xo
Hang in there. I went through something similar when I was around your age. I had a great job that I loved so much but it was inevitable I was going to lose it. I had panic attacks and they were terrible. I was on some medication and actually had a lot of unnecessary medical tests. Sometimes we face real life problems and stresses for the first time and this is what happens. Try to power through whatever problems you were having and have some positives in your life and the panic attacks will hopefully go away and the fear will become a distant memory.. And also learn to not get stressed out. Just deal with stuff as it comes and don't dwell on it.
I have a severe anxiety disorder and even with medication, I sometimes struggle to keep it under control. When life gets too busy, when chaos reigns, when my plate is overflowing, I need real, practical advice to press through those moments when I feel frozen. Mel's advice has real life applications for all sorts of situations. She simplifies what I've learned through life experiences, therapy and education into a practical achievable plan.
God bless you, Mel!
Awesome interview. What I find the most impressive about her is the way she talks about her husband. So beautiful and inspiring.
Wow that was soooo powerful! Thank you! Excited to action this.
Mel is just so incredibly inspiring!
Totally agree.
Brilliant! True! Functional! Let's make this a Habit!
I was intending to work in myself through a course I am doing today. But this popped on my screen. Couldn't turn it off. An amazing hour of my time well spent. Thankyou.

I am 15 minutes into this - it is incredibly profound. Brilliant.
"Thinking patterns that are self sabotaging" What a real statement...!!!
"Anxiety is nothing more then the habit of worrying spiraling out of control"
"Because everythings working right now" I love her candor...God Bless
this 5 second rule has turned my lazy ass into a machine
joje qpa lol like those words
So cool!
Me too!
5,4,3,2,1....and I'm off to the gym :D
Yay! Gym time. Getting there is the skill.
I totally agree with the method of what it takes to get it. Thru some of life's greatest, most feared I got hit with a curve ball that shoulda, coulda, killed me. Long and the short of it I had an experience that I choose to see it.. It's a 24/7 it far out weights happiness. Happiness is fleeting, we wait for it and miss out on it cuz it's not what we thought it would, should be, we squander, sabotage, try hanging on to it but happiness is not in my opinion an emotion that stays 24/7.. But there's something else that we have the ability to feel it, give it and be humbled when it comes full circle back with slice of happiness. If only for that moment for some people that slice of happiness is enough. What is better than happiness? JOY, it's a state of being. It was given to me after unbelievable losses in my extended family and then every mother's fear, I lost and found my 23 year old son Andrew not alive. He was a gift after having lost my Grandmother and 5 weeks later my Irish twin best friend brother. One year later I was given this beautiful boy. To have him taken away, no words to describe the loss of your child.. After I lost my father in 2011 and my only sister two months later to breast cancer. I don't want to rattle on but two months later in May of 2012 I was lying on my bed over thinking, feeling and wondering, Why! At that moment I had this warm feeling come into my chest that I relaxed without a thinking and just let it in. I am a critical thinker, live outside the box. I stop to smell the proverbial Rose's and I tell others to smell the proverbial Rose's and pick one but if it's not in your garden then Run like Hell😋 Make a memory everyday because those memories will feed your Soul when your older.. kathleen
This is incredible. I have practiced the 5 second rule without the count down, and never even knew it. I will use this principle everyday!!! Thank you Mell!!
I love absolutely everything about this. Thank you so much to both of you, I can see how this is and will continue to change lives. Thank you ❤❤
5 Second Rule = 5 Second Window between the instincts, the shoulds, the urges, the inner wisdom, things that can change your life if you listen to it. You got a 5-second window from the moment you feel the instinct, Its a move and if you don't, your brain is designed to actually kill it - 30:33
Mel robbins is so amazing. The 5 second window thing saved my life
5,4,3,2,1 puts your mind in motion! Great interview.
Absolutely love the people your bring onto your show. This is amazing stuff that must be taught in every school and job. I love watching your shows and others like you because I want to spend my 20s developing myself and finding myself so I have more time relaxing and enjoying the rest of my life. I am currently 22 and I feel that I am almost at the edge of discovering exactly who I am. And I thank you, Lewis Howes, and other amazing individuals like you :) Wishing you infinite peace, love, and success!
Nilaja Williams thats amazing keep up the good work!!!
Thank you so much. It's been hard, but I'm still going strong everyday 🌸
Yes it's hard I know I'm doing the same as well only I'm 34. But it's worth it I'm seeing changes in my life and I'm impressed with myself keep going.
She's a genius.
Yes! Agree.
This is hands down the best podcast you've done ... this rule is an absolute game changer. Just ordered this book looking forward to receiving it.
Thank You Lewis and Mel For This Interesting Video.
You are very welcome Davida. Thanks for watching!
Great Pod cast and shows, Lewis from Tony Robbins to Mel Robbins, really talking to us all in a real #inspired way!
Precious...priceless wisdom.
I often don't know what to do next because nothing feels right. After going clonazepam-free, I have a difficult time knowing what to do next in almost every moment. This is very helpful. I have accomplished some important things during the time it took to listen. Many, many thanks.
This episode by far is the most powerful episode since I started to listen the show.
