    I can not express how much I love Mel. She has helped me more than any other speaker, motivational guru, or life coach. I seek out her stuff ALL the time. I love her! She doesn't even know I exist,and that is OK, I thank the Lord for her and HE knows that I know she exists and that she helps me and many many other people. There is a special place in Heaven for her and her sweet spouse. She is an example of someone who has walked the walk.I have a ton of respect for her!

    "You're not a worrier. You have a habit of worrying... You're not a procrastinator. You have a habit of procrastinating." Blew my mind. Makes total sense. This video spoke to me 110%
    THANK YOU, LEWIS. Love your videos.

      She actually doesn't say anything special, she just changes how to say it a bit. I get it helps her to get her point across to make people change their perspective but if you already have that perspective it kinda looks stupid. But can't blame her lots of MS do it.

    • @StormzzLeader
      @StormzzLeader 7 років тому

      Yes but that does not change the fact that if you worry alot that you are a worrier. Cause if not then the word worrier has no meaning.

    Since seeing Mel first on another Impact Theory and then here, I've been 5-4-3-2-1-ing like crazy and it's radically changing my life. I've gotten more done on my 'procrastination list' in the past ~6 weeks than in the past year - honestly. I'm making phone calls I dreaded. Mel Robbins is brilliant. Thank you Lewis.

    I have followed Tony Robbins for years and that's how I came across Lewis's podcasts. This podcast came up after a Tony Robbins podcast I was listening to. I had never heard of Mel Robbins so I was just halfway listening to the podcast as I was working. I went back and replayed this podcast and sat down and listened to it! This lady is amazing! I live off-grid and own an organic farm and plant nursery in Tennessee. I don't own a tv or cellphone. I used to listen to Rich Roll's podcasts while working in my greenhouses. I've now added Lewis Howe's podcasts to my playlist! It takes a lot to get me to sit down and watch anything but I plan to watch all of Lewis's podcasts! He is one of the best interviewers I've seen!

    I went through postpartum and peri-menopause concurrently and it was horrific . . . I never took any meds, I hiked and joined a Parenting the Infant Class . . . nature and a support group of other new moms saved my life. My baby is now 21 so that memory is far behind me . . . I wish I'd known what Mel talks about and what I've learned from Landmark, Tony Robbins, and now Brooke Castillo and Mel, you and others: Thoughts = feelings/emotions = actions . . . control your thoughts, control your emotions, control your actions. Thanks for this interview Lewis!

    By the way, there's ONE simple trick you can do to get out of bed immediately without all the delay justifications... Put your alarm clock outside of the bedroom. That's it. Why making it complicated... You can't stand that noise, you will have to get up. I had the same issue with snoozing for years and since I have the clock outside of the bedroom for about two years now, I get up in ONE second literally saying every time "oh yes, let's do this". And you already have an immediate, no procrastination start for the day, which you will feel throughout the day.... try it out, free tip from me :-)

    • @user-sw9vs5of8y

Also, it was an aha moment for me when you talked about how you never filled up the 3rd cup! I have been doing the same thing between cup 1 and cup 2 and just never felt like it/I was ever enough! Missa McFadden Mel said in another one of her talks that if she had diabetes, she'd have to monitor the way her body metabolizes sugar. She said with panic attacks, it's like diabetes, it's just how her body responds to stress. Which is so true. Nothing to be self-conscious about. I now tell people I suffered from them because maybe my sharing may help someone else too. xo

    • @NoName-zb1gm
      @NoName-zb1gm 6 років тому

      Hang in there. I went through something similar when I was around your age. I had a great job that I loved so much but it was inevitable I was going to lose it. I had panic attacks and they were terrible. I was on some medication and actually had a lot of unnecessary medical tests. Sometimes we face real life problems and stresses for the first time and this is what happens. Try to power through whatever problems you were having and have some positives in your life and the panic attacks will hopefully go away and the fear will become a distant memory.. And also learn to not get stressed out. Just deal with stuff as it comes and don't dwell on it.

    I have a severe anxiety disorder and even with medication, I sometimes struggle to keep it under control. When life gets too busy, when chaos reigns, when my plate is overflowing, I need real, practical advice to press through those moments when I feel frozen. Mel's advice has real life applications for all sorts of situations. She simplifies what I've learned through life experiences, therapy and education into a practical achievable plan.
    God bless you, Mel!

    I totally agree with the method of what it takes to get it. Thru some of life's greatest, most feared I got hit with a curve ball that shoulda, coulda, killed me. Long and the short of it I had an experience that I choose to see it.. It's a 24/7 it far out weights happiness. Happiness is fleeting, we wait for it and miss out on it cuz it's not what we thought it would, should be, we squander, sabotage, try hanging on to it but happiness is not in my opinion an emotion that stays 24/7.. But there's something else that we have the ability to feel it, give it and be humbled when it comes full circle back with slice of happiness. If only for that moment for some people that slice of happiness is enough. What is better than happiness? JOY, it's a state of being. It was given to me after unbelievable losses in my extended family and then every mother's fear, I lost and found my 23 year old son Andrew not alive. He was a gift after having lost my Grandmother and 5 weeks later my Irish twin best friend brother. One year later I was given this beautiful boy. To have him taken away, no words to describe the loss of your child.. After I lost my father in 2011 and my only sister two months later to breast cancer. I don't want to rattle on but two months later in May of 2012 I was lying on my bed over thinking, feeling and wondering, Why! At that moment I had this warm feeling come into my chest that I relaxed without a thinking and just let it in. I am a critical thinker, live outside the box. I stop to smell the proverbial Rose's and I tell others to smell the proverbial Rose's and pick one but if it's not in your garden then Run like Hell😋 Make a memory everyday because those memories will feed your Soul when your older.. kathleen

    5 Second Rule = 5 Second Window between the instincts, the shoulds, the urges, the inner wisdom, things that can change your life if you listen to it. You got a 5-second window from the moment you feel the instinct, Its a move and if you don't, your brain is designed to actually kill it - 30:33

    I often don't know what to do next because nothing feels right. After going clonazepam-free, I have a difficult time knowing what to do next in almost every moment. This is very helpful. I have accomplished some important things during the time it took to listen. Many, many thanks.
