Great to have you back at the power plant. I always love to watch your content. Fantastic, as usual. Like Kevin in the other comment, I was really invested in the saga of your keys! Nice job keeping your audience hanging!
Thanks, you make a good point. From a story tellers point of view I should have finished the story by showing that I found the keys. I got distracted by the fishing! I found the keys right when I arrived to my car. The daylight really made a difference. I had laid them on the bumper for some reason.
I guess the abundance of shad helps them grow into jumbos! Usually there is a mixture of big ones and small ones but this year they are mostly just big ones - which I'm OK with! Thanks!
Nice video. Wish we had white bass that size where I live. Not sure how much you know about white bass so I'll tell a little. You're catching them in pre spawn which is great. During this time, the males go upstream first and group up and wait for the females to arrive. When the females show up, it's on. They will travel around in schools to do their thing. Since they can't go past the damn, that is where they stop. With these bass sometimes they will pick a spot to hang out and stay, sometimes just for a bit and sometimes for hours. Other times they will move slowly from one spot to another. Simply put, you have found the "honey hole"; they picked a spot 5-10 feet from you and decided to stay there. To know for sure, next time cast a few feet past then left and right. If there is no bites you know they just picked that one spot to stay in. Next day they may be somewhere else! I've had them so close to me at the bank I would just dip my lure in the water where I'm standing and pull one out every time. Keep catching!
Thanks for watching and thanks for all the info! It seems like you are a fellow lover of white bass and striped fish in general. Definitely near the top of my list to catch.
So glad you made another spillway video i was waiting for this one i asked and ypu delivered thank you soooooooo much i love doing and watching this type of fishing to bad no flatheads but thats super awesome thanks for making mt day better
The other side is good too. Sometimes I stand on the power plant side and watch them across the river smack fish after fish while I catch very little. It really just depends on the day. I do fish the other side on occasion but I don't feel like I have it dialed in like I do the power plant side.
Can't wait for next spring..White Bass every cast is the dream, wipers every cast is heaven and both is in it's own category
Awesome hook up!!
Thanks!
Best spot! Good job👍
Indeed! Thanks!

@@BackroadsAngling Just glad you found them. That can really ruin a day.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. This is also my favorite type of fishing. More to come in the near future with some big fish!
You messed up. This is fillet and release.
Where is this located
Are those white bass or white perch?
White bass
@@BackroadsAngling 👍
Shut off the electric fence so some will come to Mn ok 😅
Then you will get the silver carp as well.
The white bass run is on... I hope you found your car keys.
Indeed! Yes I found my keys. A little daylight made all the difference! Thanks!
Pleased to to see you as always. Hope all turns out well. Great fishing!
Thanks for watching! You are one of my favorite commenters. Great fishing to you as well!
@@BackroadsAngling Blanked Saturday(13th?😉), nothing for the whole day.
It happens! It usually all balances out. You're probably due for a hot bite now.
never see you fish opposite side. is it even worth while, or just too much traffic?

@@BackroadsAngling I'm like that w/ a roller dam somewhere near whereabouts
What ugly stik rod do you have? Length, strength?
Ugly stick GX2. Medium action. I think it's 6' 6"
