I was elated when it worked again. DJI is not taking any responsibility for this. Video is Spot on. Best fix video 3 & 4 controls. It took me less 1 min, I plugged it in a few times until it reset and it worked again. I had to turn it on and off a few times and plug it in to get red beep light to reset. Works great now. Flew it for 30 min after no issues. This is why I live UA-cam. Thanks.
Would just like to say thanks for posting this video. Just used this and fixed my P3 Pro remote, just as you said 450 degrees for around 30 seconds and went from 5% battery and 1 light to 100% and 4 lights lit. Saved me a fortune! Thanks again
Glad I found this !!! Good information as our birds get older - things get loose under the hood (as it were). Always great to find out one can fix it themselves.
Thank you, I watched 3 videos how to fix this. This one really helped me focus on that torubled area. Didnt see it move any, but yeah it works 100% charged and ready to fly. Thanks for the upload!!
I reflowed the IC. It did work. Do not recommend you try this unless you can afford to lose the board. I have ordered replacement IC chip in case I need to replace it or someone needs a repair.
telescott1, great advice regarding how to repair the remote control! I had worked on the rc for a couple of hours. I think two of the big tricks were: the temp setting, absolutely spot on! You need to see the chip move and resets itself. The second was the one spot that needed to be reset, not everything on the board! Thanks, back up and flying again. Merry Christmas
Works 100%, I just tried this and it worked for me. All four lights lite up now and the remote is charging the battery to full. I just heated that little point next to the led lights with a heat gun making sure it was hot enough but not too hot to burn damage anything and it worked like a charm. 👍 I tried everything else but this is the only technique that worked. Thank you for the video.
worked for my 2.5 year in a box phantom 4.....used a butane pencil torch ooooh so gently, works good! left all cables attached and pried open enough to access ic for heat out to outer edge.thanks
I need to try this, I reflowed the whole board, don't know if i did it correctly, but after a few attempts the battery now charges to 75%. Will try this after the Holidays. Thanks for video and temp settings.
Hello Sir, thanks for this excellent video. Short, but exact to the point. I fixed my defect Controller the same way and Its working fine again. Thumbs up!!
Thank you very much for sharing this video, I have one question, I have inspire 1 with GL658 controller . Recently, when I push the power button, all the LEDs turn on (white) and after few seconds (3-4) everything dies. I opened the controller and check the battery voltage, it shows 8.5 volts. Do you think your method will fix the problem?
@@telescott1 so ...now i understand from where the problem starts ..i thought that was the battery an the beginning...i changed it and i replaced with a lipo battery..but nothing changes..(and one tip for ones the changes the battery you have to charge with a external lipo charger..)today i fix it by your way...and now i have a remote control which stays on for hours!!genuine battery sucks!hahaahhaha
I did this 3 months ago and it worked( with heat gun and tinfoil) now have the same problem again. Is this going to happen every time you let it set. Maybe didn’t reflow good?

Hey, that is great to here.

Lukas Potgieter I just bought another controller off eBay.
I did 300C on this but didnt work. Is 450 safe enough ?
450c is fine, use flux and make sure you see the chip move a bit, it have to be heated enough to remelt the old solder.
tnx it worked for me with heat gun at 600 degrees. tnx a lot
is this a risk???
NO try at your own risk
That's great. Happy flying.
