This does work. I used a heat gun with a narrow tip and cover off the areas that I did not want to expose to the high heat. Thanks. At first I thought I had my volume turned down but then I realized that you just were not saying anything in this video. That is the beauty of video, you see pictures and hear sound too.
I had the same issue with mine. Had to repeat the process 3 times as well as reflow both the power and battery connectors on the 3rd attempted and it worked. Initially the control sticks where not working after I reassembled the remote so I brought the drone indoors and tried it again and they worked. I don't know why this happened but all good now. Great care should be taken when heating the board I guess.. Issue finally fixed, happy days!!!
Thank you!! its works like a charm =) I heated it using a regular heat gun and isolating the same area. First during less than 1 minute, more lights working... Second attempt for a minute and everything works.
Thanks.. Very nice guide. I have an issue after reflowing it.. Before doing so, i could connect the DJI Go 4 app to the drone. But now when i plug in my samsung it says "Check your charger connection." I have taken it back apart 2 more times to make sure everything is plugged in securely and it is.. But the app still wont connect. Any suggestions would be great.
Different solution for me. I disassembled most of it, minus the main board. The battery was at 7.4V. I put it on a charger and charged it to 8.2V. Then plugged it back in to check and I got the four running lights. Maybe it was the battery, maybe a loose or corroded connection. Who knows? It just pays to check if it is working every step of the way. This way I saved myself from potentially damaging the chip due to too much heat from the heat gun .
thx this helped me too. But as you said(wrote) I heated it less for start 20 seconds but with a regular heat gun! I did not have the heating station. EDIT 16.4.2019: down to 3 lights on the remote.
How do I know if it is actually working and charging, is it when all 4 lights start to go from left to right? I heated up the board a bit and it has 1 light blinking like what happens at 2:11 in the video and it just keeps blinking. Does that means it’s good and is charging? Or do I have to heat it up in other places as well
I can see my real charge when I turn the RC on while pressing C1, C2 and the Shutter button ( it's the silver button on the right side). But when it turns on the main LED is white and I can't connect to my drone. Try it and check, you might not have my connection problem. Just give it a try
I've done this four times, but even if reflowing seems to solve the charging problem, it occurs again next time I need to charge the controller. So, not a permanent solution for my controller. ☹
So, all 4 dots lights up on my board when the battery is unplugged. But the moment that I do, only 1 dot is blinking. Any ideas on this? Does this mean that the battery is busted?
If only one light is blinking while charging the controller, that usually means it is only 25% charged. Keep charging and see if more lights light up. If not, you may need repair.
Edit...had to do this a 2nd time only 3 lights charging again. This time I waited til I saw movement on the chip(solder releasing) with the heart gun 1" away for approx 1 minute 20 seconds. The heat gun says it reaches over 400° F

Thanx man! You just saved me nice amount of cash! My Phantom 4 pro+ didn't charge at all. Now works ething fine... Thanx

After the first try it worked only for a day or two, than I repeted the process and it works fine since that.
Thanks!

I had the same problem. Now work very well.
Thank you!
Big thanks helped and everything works. Once again, thanks a lot. For me it worked at 400 degrees and one minute of heating
It works now. Thank you for the vedio.
Thank you! It worked like a charm. The alluminum paper kind of melted a little mine heatgun body tough

What did you charge it with ? a regular S2 charger slot fits to the battery ?
@@BestForexBroker2024 i was wondering that too, I pulled it out and it's a 3s 4 slot connector on the 2s
thank you for your advice i did the same.
All OK.

Just currious... Would it be ok to heat the contacts on other side of board?
I did that already l, but the red light is been beeping. Do you know is another fix for that

which IC should change or IC Number
You`re right. Why the fuck noone said that the IC should be replaced rather than reflowed.
seems to bes easy but I just Brooke my whole Controller and now I am struggling to buy a new Mainbord.

I’ve found this too. 5th time now.
Same

Others are doing it at 250 for a minute. Should i start with that v
het werkt perfect :)
Can i use soldering iron?
Yes! I used a regular soldering iron (60watts I guess) for 10 mins!
I placed it directly on the IC the whole time! Worked like charm!
I would not use a solder iron, I would use a heat gun to Reflow
Trying that tomorrow. My RC only charges to 60%
