In addition to this video, a part 2 could be: what can be done in the event of a sunburn (cause mistakes happen). Does aloe really work? Why does a sunburn peel or turn into a tan? Thank you very much, as always for another great educational video.

Thanks, Emilie. I would say my summer hack is #touchbeauty ultrasonic device glow!! Love the pore exfoliator so much!! I always have problems with large pores in the summer especially and they look small after I use this device!! My skin feels a lot smoother as well. It is amazing!!!

@@user-ok9yc1gj6o yep, I'm very, very sure. I've tried numerous Korean skincare products and they all either have plant extracts or fermented ingredients. After consistent use in the morning of these products, I either had clogged pores (closed comedones or inflamed pustules) or major flaky dryness around my nose. All that definitely wasn't a purge, like what happens when using actives, but congestion. Of course, everyone reacts differently to ingredients, so if they work for you, go for it!

Algae breaks me out as well. Idk how accurate the comedogenic scale is, but after breaking out, I looked it up and found it has one of the highest ratings. Right up there with coconut oil (which also breaks me out).

I am a huge believer in sunscreen, and a grandmother of five. Just to support their moms and dads, I offer to buy their sunscreen and sun guard swimwear, including tops and hats. This Christmas I wrapped up super fun swimwear sets with their favorite superheros etc. on them as a fun gift! We just got pictures of them from their trip to Legoland, and they were ALL wearing the cute sets!!
I use the foot hack, but I just put on cotton socks and sleep in them. Now I will be adding the plastic wrap.... such a sexy look!😂😂😂

On top of the sunscreen when I was living in Asia a took the habit of carrying a parasol during the summer. Some are very light and cute, in most the inner layer was a dark spf fabric. Now here in my country people would laugh at me if they saw me with it so I just use sunscreen and hat, hope parasols will become mainstream one day!

I’m so glad I found you! I love the advice and how you give us great suggestions of products from every price points for our skin concerns. May I suggest a topic that I’m sure many may enjoy and find informative? I’m 51 and at the beginnings of peri-menopause/menopause. Can you give us going through this some ideas as to how we can combat the loss of collagen and the night sweats/hot flashes? Also, I’m curious if it’s common to experience rashes due to menopause. I find my neck has rashes that is driving me crazy and I cannot tell you how hard it is to avoid scratching, as I know it would aggravate my melasma and it’s terrible for your skin altogether. Thank you Dr. Idriss!

I work in a doctors office so I’m inside for 8 hours. I don’t wear makeup during this time because with the mask I’ll just sweat it off, literally!! I wear my Vitamin C Serum and SUNBUM Broad Spectrum Face SPF 50 and then use a Matte/Pore Filler Primer and that’s it. It helps keep my oil production down and it’s less products on my face. I use this on my face, neck, back of neck, and chest where I am exposed in my scrubs. Works wonders for me 🌸

Questions for the DIY glycerin face mist. If I don't want to use rosewater, would the mixture then be 100ml distilled water + 30ml glycerin? What about shelf life since there are no preservatives? And how about adding other ingredients such as antioxidant serum, or aveeno colloidal oatmeal powder, etc? Hello Dr Shereene thank you for this video. I found it very informative. I'd like to know more about ceramides, maybe for a future video you could cover that topic. Lots of love from South Africa.

Hi Dr. Idriss! I was wondering, can you discuss any benefits their might be to facial steaming? If there are none, are there detriments? Thank you!

I'm finally running low on a bunch of sunscreen I don't like and just linked to the Beauty of Joseon. Hoping it's the one I can order over and over. So, thanks and have a great holiday weekend,

HATs, HATs, HATs. Three hacks for you - I love wearing hats in the summer (even for warmth in the winter). Thanks for the info on UV protective clothing. Even a t-shirt helps so much.

Hi Shereene! What are your thoughts on that swedish 2016 study, that keeps popping up, suggesting that sun-exposure is positively linked to longevity and sun-avoidance negatively linked to longevity?

UPF clothing is a lifesaver as a mom! Wiggly kiddos who hate sunscreen all over are much happier for just a quick reapply to face arms hands and neck vs the whole kit and caboodle!

I know I want one but can't find it. I just wear a beekeper hat and it works. It even scares other people away so that's a plus.

In Singapore we have UV umbrellas. The ladies who know walk around with them up when outdoors. Also arm and hand uv cover when swimming or unavoidable harsh sun because we don’t wear sleeves.

Unless you have very dry dehydrated skin and live in a very dry environment, you don't need face mist. You can make a DIY face mist at home. 8 parts Rose water or non exfoliating toner + 1 part glycerin +1 part oil of choice (grapeseed, jojoba, argan) then put it in a spray container then shake before use. Better for winter though. Honestly if you use a good occlusive moisturizer you won't need a face mist. Just use Hyaluronic acid and then something like Cicaplast Baume.

oh beautiful doctor! I love your videos, they make my Saturdays and I have become a devoted follower of my skincare... my rosacea is improving with your advice and my daughters have already started taking care of themselves and washing their faces at night, moisturizing and using sunscreen on the day! great progress without a doubt... hey, a favor, my husband makes fun of me because he says that it's ridiculous to wear sunscreen if you're going to be at home all day... inside... without going outside... that is neither scientific nor necessary... can you help me convince him?
