I have a very similar one and the mat works fine in muddy or soft ground. I wouldn't generally use it for a wild camp but a little bit of necessary luxury on a day adventure or permission camp. Loved the comedy trying to 'fall out' of the chair.

Hi Simon, first thing to do is make sure the feet are stuck on properly as they will be the first to get lost in the mud if you don't use the cover thing!! I have an Aldi one, cost £17.00, basically built the same, mines lasted me over 2 years now, mine weighs 750g. I stuck 10mm (diameter of legs) walking stick feet on mine and works a treat as bigger surface area for woodland or soft ground. Cool man. Lee

Nice one Lee, I'm waiting on the cover for the feet so will see how it performs. Interesting how these things do the rounds at different weights and prices! Have a good evening mate

Simon, loved the video, chuckled at the "dead-fly rigidity test'. Concur, chairs definitely a luxury item. I use the Chair Zero which cuts down on the weight. Useful on long distance trails rather than a Munro bagging trip. Stay safe.

I just bought 2 of these for $50 AUD each and I'm happy with the comfort, weight and value for money. The horizontal tubes on both chairs were cut off straight and not rounded/deburred. Other tubes smooth. The shock cord on the first chair cut through on the first disassembly. I replaced it on both chairs after smoothing the ends of the tubes. Couldn't get 3mm cord but 4mm fit fine in the end plugs. Easy fix.

I have the Helinox Chair Zero, pricey but half the weight. My hips are knackered so I consider a chair a necessity rather than a luxury items these days! When I receive the chair it had a faulty connector on the right hand side - never used and is broken! When I asked the manufacture for support they responded in part by saying quote “We regret to say that we can't warrant the product” it is truly regrettable and now I am working through amazon to attain an exchange or refund… I hope I am more the exception than the rule but thought I would share this.. and wish everyone else all the best of luck.

Sorry to be so late to the party.. I'm looking for a chair for Car Camping. (space saving would be good..) I'm 6'4" and have back issues. The chair itself looks awfully low to the ground to me and doesn't look to offer much in the way of back support. Does anyone have any insight regarding this chair for the taller person?

Hi Dean, thanks for watching. I find the chair comfortable and I am 6'5. It is low to the ground but I think that's why it is so comfortable. Have you looked at any others?

This brand product is manufactured and supplied by our Chinese factory. We also have other products to produce.

£40 budget really ? Your having a laugh when you can get the same chair by Sumit at Tesco’s for £15 now that’s budget.

This chair by Trekology is junk. It broke on my second weekend backpacking trip.
    Do not buy.

You English guys really like to hear your voice! It's a cheap backpack chair and your talking for 10 minutes. You don't even show the chair very often. WTF dude?
