In The Light performs Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti, at Arden Gild Hall, Arden, DE, on Saturday, January 14, 2012.
Long before The Rock Orchestra was conceived, there was In The Light - a band formed in 2011 consisting of TRO's Artistic Director Joe Trainor on Lead Vocals, TRO's Managing Director Matt Urban on Drums, Scott Lawing on Lead Guitar, Andy Faver on Rhythm Guitar, Christian Salcedo on Bass Guitar, and Steve Kuzminski on Keyboards, Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin, and Harmonica.
In The Light was originally intended as a one-off project, with the sole intent of performing Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti album, at Arden Gild Hall in Arden, DE on January 14, 2012. This was literally the first time TRO founders Joe and Matt had been together on stage. Performing to a "historically sold out" crowd, the concert was a huge success, and was the catalyst for the band continuing. Between 2012 and 2016, the group performed one more Physical Graffiti show, and then continued to perform well-received tribute concerts throughout the region, featuring music from other classic bands including Queen, The Who, Pink Floyd, and The Eagles, and a Genesis tribute concert via a spin-off project called Keep It Dark. Many of these subsequent shows featured additional musicians and singers to augment the core members, and the whole project paved the way for what would eventually become The Rock Orchestra.
The Physical Graffiti show was professionally filmed with 8 high-definition cameras, with an accompanying 24 channel multi-track audio recording. However, because of technical challenges and limitations of editing software available at the time, nothing was done with the material, and this footage and audio has not seen the light of day. Until now.
We are INCREDIBLY thrilled to bring this show to the TRO audience, for one final TRO Rewind Wednesday UA-cam premiere in 2020.
Featuring a recently completed video edit and a brand new audio mix from the multi-track master files, this high-energy video captures an excellent performance of a classic album, and the excitement and FUN that the band and the audience had on that special night.
While this show is admittedly not a TRO performance, we hope you'll join us to watch and share in an important piece of TRO's history!
