are a LIFESAVER!!!! ty soo much. I was starting to think i needed a stick of dynamite in the gas tank. so frustrating. but hopefully i will have it fixed tomorow. was your vehicle stuck in gear, or neutral as well? when you took it apart?
thank you for this F ing video,you saved me money time and from getting fucked from a trasnmission shop that already looked at my car and said it needed shift cables and it would be close to $400 dollars with parts and labor, so I brought it back home and took console out and the cables looked new,Ive been looking two months for this video, thank you, a little work and a two dollar roll pin.
I'm pretty sure this is my problem. The video is helpful in understanding what's broken, but between the orientation, the shaking, the lighting, and mostly showing the results rather than the work, especially how it all went back together, it's still a bit of a mystery to me. I'm going to face this soon, I'm sure!

Ok, I'm fairly certain I am in the same boat as you were, you say you can use a nut and bolt. What size? Also, do you just push the pin out and replace it or is everything going to fall apart as soon as I do?
Richard trying to determine if my focus' shift cable is bad or if it is the tranny tower ihave been shifting in front of tranny by moving cable into the gear i need.one day i put it into 2 and i moved shift lever up 1 notch inside car and to my suprise it moved into drive this makes me wonder if its the cable or tower thanks for your help
Yea it's still holding up good. I think as long as the new pin or bolt is tight and snug it will last the life of the car. Those roll pins Ford puts in are junk. Good luck.

I can get 2nd 4th and reverse just fine , so I'm wondering if this is the same thing wrong with mine? Any info would be helpful and appreciated cuz I'm currently working on it . Just not seeing any obvious issues yet , like cables popping off like some of these lucky focus owners.
ten million videos on how to change the cables and check the fluid, but yours is the one that every focus owner is looking for.

I have this exact same problem. has this held up for you? I am not looking to replace the entire tower just because this tiny little pin is broken.

Mine was stuck in neutral and wouldn't go into any gear
i pulled the tower out of a 2000 focus, did not have a gasket, did yours?
I am about to replace one for a 2000 forcus. Was it hard to put it back in? any advice?

Were could i find a shift tower for my manual 06 focus i cant fond ir anywhere
I took mine out and it shifted fine but when i put it back in it dodnt shift into gear

It was crappy cause it was cold out. Other than that it wasn't to bad. Only took about a hr and a half
