I was born 1957. I remember well the 60, especially the 70s and up. This really makes me feel like it's the 21st century. I wish I had another 65 years to see what else the future will bring.
Not me for the future technology will be used against the people.
Trust me Mathew... With things like Elon Musk's "Neuralink" you don't want to see what the world in the future will be like... Brain implants etc... We will lose our humanity.
Trust me, u don’t want to be here in future yrs. I think we going to have a multitude of problems from the looks of it
I understand the pessimistic outlooks, but comments about the negative impact of technology and innovation have been around for most of human civilization. People are always afraid of new things, and anything has the potential for abuse. It doesn't mean it will actually happen. I'd rather be excited for the future and look forward to what's new, instead of cowering from it and living in obscurity.
@@OptimusGPrime I was more talking about futuristic events and politics. The technology aspect is something I’m least afraid of, it’s global warming, food shortages, over population and how ppl choose to use technology and where we put our money based on politics is what scares me. Feel like half the world today is free falling to some extent
Well, I can honestly say that was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.

The potential for tactical maneuvers with those suits is insane. Just imagine a squad of guys with smaller and quieter versions of those in a ground battle, constantly flying to different positions. In an urban battle, especially a skyscraper-filled city, they would be utterly devastating.
Snipers with jetpacks are the scariest infantry I ever imagined while writing sci-fi. They can literally take every possible position to shoot from: Roofs, trees, rocks, ships, buildings. And they can quickly retreat.
And that was sci-fi, while here the future is now.
@@henrykkeszenowicz4664 Especially if you have a coordinated group of snipers, some maybe with anti-armour weaponry, those snipers would be absolutely hellish to deal with in an urban environment.
To be honest, urban sprawl combat is scary to think about in general. Imagine an invasion in New York City. All those skyscrapers, all those buildings, the city would be hell to fight in, any building could have any number of troops and static weapons within.
Add jetpacks to the mix, and it becomes ten times worse.

How about the engine room...
I love how this has gone from barely imaginable pure science fiction to actual reality in my lifetime... Amazing.
Humans make reality. We imagine it, visualize, conceptualize. Think about all those 1960's and 70's sci fiction "what would 2020 be like" magazines inspiring all the guys now currently advancing society. All that imagination goes from nothing to inspiration, rough drafts, scientific foundations of future tech. I'm inclined to think we truly make reality, like the human hive mind collective are the end user of a product being marketed to by a quantum upper dimensional apple.
did you not see James Bond using a (real) jetpack in a movie like 50 years ago? This is slightly more efficient, but it's not exactly barely imaginable
@@randylahey9167 it dosen’t always work out though, or not to the timelines expected. Sci-FI writers were expecting us to have Moon and Mars bases by the year 2000.

They will be able to build this much smaller and more efficient. After that... who knows
There were jetpacks 20 years ago, but not such comfortable, "easy" I would say and simply great. 20 years ago it was a stunt, but now this looks like a normal device you can quickly train somebody to operate.
I don't know man, some things are better left as fiction. I can't unsee the royal marines now, can I?
Your timeline is a lot off. It was science fiction in the 70s or earlier. Both NATO and CCCP had visions (and some sketches, ideas for specific ways to power it, steer etc - of course all very crude but certainly meeting hard SF standard) of people flying on personal jetpacks in the future. This was common enough that in Soviet-controlled Polish school my mom as a kid wrote about future with jetpacks all this time ago. As a general concept with a little bit of tech meat, it existed at least a few decades more. So its probably a fantasy from dawn of humanity to XX, then a concept, an item extensively written about in SF since 70s, now a reality.

A fancy way to get captured by laughing enemies.
@@ClaudeMagicbox At the end of the clip you see the guy land and in few seconds has taken off the engines by himself thrown a ladder and pulled out a sidearm.
And what happens if it malfunctions and he ends up in the water?
No, no, no. The Gravity Suite comes with a built-in HiFi system playing soothing yet still dramatic music. It was found to be the best and most economical way to improve their stealthiness.
Great technology & skill. Thumbs up.
All these elite spec ops guys have the biggest grin on their faces while playing around near the jetpack
I only saw one face, the dude flying it. Also, he is probably the only one permitted to show his face for security purposes.
That shi is loud as fuck though.
@@DenovaRaymaker59 at night in a storm is when these guys represent Queen and Country, not as loud as their flash charges or rounds, Somali pirates wouldn’t know they were victims until it was too late, a red dot and.....
@@TheXJRMAN An unarmed flying numpty, on a horribly loud machine isn't a danger to anyone. At best he could recon, making him the largest, most expensive and fragile camera drone ever. He needs to land, and untether his hands, before he can even draw a pistol (because he can't carry a Rifle apparently), and as both arms are needed for stability he can't fire in the air, even if you mounted something on an arm.
“Honey, what did you do at work today?”
Oh, you know... the usual.
That was some smooth operating
Man said “fuck it” and went creative mode
This feels like a scene from an upcoming Christopher Nolan movie
It can't be... I could get my head around this.

Looks like good old "minority report"-movie.

"Baker 6 this is Baker 1. Go for Baker 6. Baker 6, we uh, lost another rocket man to small arms fire."
They can probably protect his life by enclosing it and protecting him with kevlar and stuff. But if the jets or tanks are hit anyways, he's still screwed.
Man having to be 1 calling 6 to let him know that sucks.....just make your RTO do it and baker 1 actual can pop smoke
In today's battles that are seldom close combat I don't think as many troops would be hit as some think. If this thing can move you at a decent speed it could be useful.
Baker Mayfield
Like a rocket man, shooting on by on (something something)
I greatly enjoyed watching this.
Excellent!
We’re one step closer to making gravity a suggestion.
It's not a suggestion when you run out of fuel

In 10 years the army will literally be a bunch of Iron Man's getting things done. Can't believe this is real. Amazing.
You understand that these people will be sitting ducks in real battle field..
@@tejv5540 you mean flying ducks?
@@eeeeeek I meant sitting ducks because it's easier to shoot sitting ducks than flying ones..
