Nice wedding and all, but I guess minimalism is highly dependent on priorities. I can't even imagine what to spend $26k on for a wedding. Our wedding: State park reservation - $250 Wedding Dress/Tux Rental - $250 Barbecue For 40 Guests - $140 Marriage Certificate - $100 Invitations - Facebook Events (Free) Photography - Everyone Owns A Phone Officiator - Her uncle got ordained, for free Favors & Gifts - .........barbecue Decorations - Her mom liked crafts and insisted on doing them Music - Bluetooth speakers and a phone Total: $740
That's awesome!! It sounds like you did a great job on keeping costs down and having a beautiful time! A state park sounds like a lovely venue (and was much cheaper than ours, even though ours was much cheaper than other typical venues)! Thanks for sharing!
My hubby and I got married last August. We were very minimal as well. Ours was about $5k for the entire thing. It was perfect, exactly what we wanted, and we didn't go into debt for it either.
Hi, I'm 2 months away from my wedding and binge watching every wedding vlog i can find as I'm so excited and interested in hearing other people's wedding experiences, your wedding sounds like it was lovely ☺
Wow, weddings in the U.S are so expensive. Here in Peru my wedding is dress is only 75$ and my outdoor venue (with a pool)that fits 500 people is only 500$.
Your dress was so pretty! We got married at an indoor butterfly garden so we didn't have to worry about buying flowers to decorate with. I think it was $100 for the venue fee there. For the invitations my mom made them out of cardstock. Our wedding favors were bottles of root beer that had a label on them with our wedding info, one of my husband's friends made them at cost for us. We got our rings pretty cheap at Kohl's but not as cheap as you guys! If I could do it over again I think I would get one of the wooden wedding rings I have seen advertised.
Thank you so much Julie! Hooray for internet kindred spirits! :) Your comments have really meant so much to us and it is exciting to see that you are enjoying our content!
You're a dream compared to most modern day Bridezillas! There is so much waste of money on weddings when you could save it and put it towards buying a home....which of course is an investment in your future. There are many people who spend a fortune on the wedding day and don't stay together! Most people just want to outdo their friends but I think as long as you're doing what you want that's what's important.
My engagement ring was about 200$ and I love it to death. Anyway, I'm just getting a plain matching band for the wedding. The wedding ring I maybe wanted costs almost 2000$ and that's just crazy. But we can even just buy plated rings for now and get our dream rings later. Cause my fiance really WANTS to invest in a good, more costly ring for our wedding, considering it's forever😁
Gifts for your bridesmaids & groomsmen aren't meant to be "life changing". They're to thank them for taking the time & spending the money to be in your wedding. There are times to save money, but honoring those who've given to you isn't one of them. Baking cookies or cake pops & gifting them in a nice gift box costs very little.
Thanks! This video was made so long ago that I can't remember exactly what I said or how I phrased it, but we did pay for their bridesmaid dresses and we covered the cost of the hotel room where we hung out the night before! I didn't want my bridesmaids to have to spend much of their own money for my wedding!

Thank you so much Sara! Your wedding sounds lovely...a butterfly garden must have been such a beautiful place to get married! :)
You are genius! So many great tips. I think you and I are kindred spirits. Also, your wedding photos look great. Fun.

You are so sweet! But yes, I totally agree...I think average wedding costs are insane!
This was an amazing testimonial, I loved the detail. Bravo!
I'm so happy to hear that, JJ! Thank you!
I really enjoyed the video about your wedding.
Thank you!

Abundantly Minimal Paying for their attire is huge- that can really add up! I'm sure they were very appreciative of your kind & generous gift.💗💗
If i tried to hit my father up for $26k for a wedding he would laugh me out of his house and i wouldn't blame him!
Haha I know!! I could not even fathom spending that much money for one day! :)
Was your wedding in Champaign?
Technically Urbana, but yes! It was at the Illini Union, in their ballroom! :)
🖒🖒❤❤
