How to Install Any Undertale/Deltarune Mod in Minutes! [2023+]

- A lot of people ask me how to install the mods for Undertale and Deltarune I use in my videos, so I decided to make a tutorial for you guys! I know it isn't the typical content for this channel, but thought I'd make a bonus video for all you guys who need it :)

Just a small note: some mods might replace music or other files, for those, just replace the files in the program folder.
For how huge the modding community of both games are, I'm quite surprised there aren't any mod managing programs.
Unitale and CYF/CYK are both fan games that most modders use
@@Julnz That's correct! CYF/CYK are fine tools, and they do have big modders. but the main game's modding is still at its peak.
Those tools require a completely different way of using them. Last I check (which is long so correct me if I make a mistake) to get the overworld you need to get the game files on Unity and edit them. While modding the base game is not only faster given the UndertaleModTool, but also easier because game maker studio is easy to use.

@@ijgames4529 probably impossible to mod undertale on a switch
Do NOT forget to make a copy of all the UNDERTALE/DELTARUNE folders to use all your mods on separately, it's better off to play the mods on a copy than to use a copy as a backup.

im kinda late to this comment but im trying to install a deltarune mod and i dont know how to copy the folders do you know how? .w.
@@FrostyHub246_17 just use your mouse and highlight all the files in the folder, right click, and select copy, and then you can paste it anywhere else
@@sogmeister i copy and pasted the files, now im trying to download the mod but it doesnt seem to be working... im kinda worried i'm gonna mess something up.

also dont forget, this does not only work for undertale and deltarune, but it also works on most games using the game maker engine for example: pizza tower

I’d suggest making a backup of the original data file and replacing the modded file with the backup.
Edit: Or if you don’t care about keeping old saves then delete and reinstall the game.

If you are using steam then right click the game and go properties, then click verify and it will re-download the changed or missing files.
if this works you are a legend, i have spent so long trying this. ( i will edit when find if it works)
also please do a way to install ( not steam ) undertale bits and pieces ,that would be rlly helpful
i checked the page for undertale bits and pieces and it requires that you have the steam version of undertale, if you only have an unlicensed copy or the console versions then it won't work

Deltarune question: in the ending cutscene in chapter 2 when kris throws the soul into the sink cupboard, are you able to move the soul like the ending of chapter 1?
no you can not but in chapter 1 yes
probably a bit late, but would it be possible to have more than one mod installed at a time? A friend and I wanna play multiplayer (Undertale Together) as well as Cible's undertale ai mod. Or would we have to just choose one or the other?
I already knew all this, but this is making me think.. what if you use an undertale patch on Deltarune, or the other way round 🤔

I couldn't apply the mod, It would say that "the source file was too short"
can you install the mods while you're already like half way into the game and will it still work?

tha game is tottaly "not crashing" and i can "normally play". the gaster blaster mod "works so well" after i did what you said.
Then, are you able to add 2 mods together, like this: Undertale Bits and Pieces, but Chara chases you
probably not, at least for most mods, since they most likely arent made to work together
what if in the xdelta files I get:An error has occurred: xdelta3: target window checksum mismatch: XD3_INVALID_INPUT?

I got this when I did your video with undertale red and yellow mod now every time I open the game it just says that error and I can't play the game

Uh.. i tried to download undertale orange but i wasnt able to use the deltapatcher or whatever its called. Then when i tried to open undertale it was just the very first thing, The icon. Then i was like "did i f*ck up undertale!?" luckily through some epic file changing and stuff i was able to fix it. Me not being able to fix it woulda sucked, especially cause i have a undertale series on my channel going on. But at the same time i really wanna play with the orange soul.
Does it work the same for zip files or no?

That's why you should always backup before adding a mod into your game.
My mod doesn't come as a file. My mod is a large folder with many folders inside. How do I put it into the game?

YOU CAN DELETE UNDERTALE OR DELTARUN AND THEN INSTALLET AGAIN AND YOUR GAME DATA WILL BE SAVED WITHOUT THE MOD

I have been trying for 23 days to try and hack Undertale and set my health to like 150 so i can beat the sans boss fight I have tried installing mods I have done legit everything in my power but all I have gotten so far is getting 8 butterscotch pies well I give up I am just going to work myself down to the bone until I beat sans.

Not helpful, no help on what to do if game doesnt run after I clicked "apply patch" on Delta Patcher. I disabled checksum validation. When I turned it on, it gives me an error.

I never thought it would ever have a "How to install mods in Undertale/Deltarune" video, like it's REALLY simple, and almost all mods for Undertale/Deltarune have a tutorial of how to install it.
