@@williamcarter9066 Yes. A friend who is a positive influence, picks you up, speaks well of you when he has no need to (like he did helping Stallone land an early role), when he was a giant star on Happy Days still wasn’t too arrogant to learn from early mistakes concerning script issue and younger Ron Howard talked to him and finally has an infectious personality
I met Henry in 1977 when I was 11. He came up to Toronto to host the first Toronto Film Festival. I had a small animated cartoon in the festival, and Henry visited the school where I was being taught animation. I was a huge fan of Henry. He was warm, friendly, open, available, and very positive. They say don't meet your idols. Maybe so. But that does not apply to Henry Winkler.
My family met Mr. Henry Wrinkler at SF comic fan fair last December 2023. We took picture with him. My daughter just loves watching Fonzie from happy day shows. I grew up his shows too.
Sly, don't look back. The California we all loved is no longer there. Go enjoy the rest of your life with that beautiful wife. DON"T LOOK BACK. Huge lifelong fan.
I was lucky enough to meet Henry and have a wonderful conversation with him a few years ago. He is without a doubt the sweetest man I've ever met. Oh, and I also got a kiss on the cheek from The Fonz!!! ❤
It's very nice that you have friends like that that you don't see regularly for say 30-50 yrs, then when you get together it's like you never left. The oldest friend I have I met when we were 5, and for the past 55 yrs it's like we've never been apart, after you catch up on the news. That's so rare anymore. Good for you bucko.
That story that Henry started to tell saved the film Rocky...you gotta hear what he did to ABC to get Stallone the writing credit..and jump started Stallone's mega career...its cool looking back on how much fun they had and still do! AYYYYYYYYY! YO Adrian...er Henry!
A buddy I grew up with who works as an 18 wheeler truck driver for a Movie Set Production Company performing logistics for Big Name Hollywood projects once told me he had the privilege of meeting and chatting with Henry Winkler for a lengthy period...He told me in the nearly 20yrs of doing the same job meeting some very notable actors & actresses in the business, he said that Henry Winkler was the most humble, generous, and lovingly authentic person he had the privilege to meet....God Bless You Sir....
What a legendary reunion! 🌟 It's awesome to see Sly catching up with Henry Winkler on 'The Family Stallone'. Two icons sharing stories, what more could we ask for? 🎥👏
I love The Lord's of Flatbush!!! Perry King, Sly was so cute!!!! The movie was excellent, brought back so many memories of my teen-age years!!!! ❤❤❤❤....
I remember Lords of Flatbush... Sly, you've come a long way sir! You really learned your craft well and you can sure make great movies (and TV shows... love Tulsa King). You will be fine moving to Florida. You'll make new friends and you'll get new insights on life and you'll get away from what has slowly become something bad (California). The change will be good for you, I believe that. You seem like a good guy and I really wish you well!
These kinds of candid discussions and interviews by celebrities being as everyday people are very nice, and maybe therapeutic. The world is getting that much smaller - one big happy family. 🤩☺😇
The Lords of Flatbush was the movie that made me fall in love with the fashion style that guys wore back in the 50s. Blue jeans, white T-shirt, boots and a black leather jacket. Oh yeah and the hairstyles for my favorite too.
He'll be glad to be in Florida. I'm glad I moved out of Boston to the mountains. Should of done it many years ago. And with Stallone's money he can go rent a place in California until he get's he bellyfull then fly back to Florida to relax and enjoy peace and safety with his kids and grandkids.
I was just watching "Lords of Flatbush" the other day......I always watch it.....I've even made a replica of the "Lords" leather jacket with the "SAC" overlay on the back.👍👍
"The Lords of Flatbush" is one of those "hidden gems" who few ever talk about. Besides Winkler playing a proto version of what would later be The Fonz ( though not as calm and cool) and Sly playing a character not unlike Rocky, the film also featured a young Perry King who really should have been an A-list star .
Many many yrs ago I went to visit a friend on the Paramount lot to watch them film Cheers. I am walking through the lot when a bright cheerful bearded man comes toward me with a beaming smile, says " hey how are ya? are you enjoying yourself today?"......At first I am confused since the voice I know and that smile I know but the beard and clothing were a bit out of place. Suddenly I recognize the man as Fonzie! And say, "wow its Fonzie!". He got a big kick out of the whole thing - he was filming a movie and looked entirely different. He was a real sweetheart.
I love how Winkler tries to comfort Stallone by quoting Chairman Mao, perhaps the worst mass murderer in human history. Lol, no wonder Sly is leaving California! With friends like these...
There's a comedy practically writing itself - High school pals (Lords Of Flatbush) go of into the world, one becomes "The Fonz" and the other Rambo and many decades later as old broken down men, reconnect in an action comedy. They could reference memories/scenes from Lords, Rambo, and Happy Days
More like an empty bowl. That's what Mao offered to the 50 million Chinese citizens who died in the Great Famine that resulted from his so-called "Great Leap Forward."
Everyone that can is leaving the west coast insanity. :( Best decision we ever made last year. Quality of life is way up and cost of living is way down! ❤❤❤
I actually got to fix his shoes. I was a cobbler in Tampa in a past life and he was making a movie( I think with Burt Reynolds?) and his assistant dropped them off for repair. A couple of days later Henry came into the mall and slapped the top of the counter and said "You did a great job on my shoes, thank you"....and that was my only brush with fame.
I love it. Stallone says he’s tired of everything wrong with California and has made a decision to move to Florida. And Winkler decides to console him by quoting Chairman Mao?!?! That’s the most tone deaf thing I’ve ever heard.
Everyone needs someone like Henry Winkler in their life. What a positively infectious human being.
Too bad turned into another Hollyweird sellout TDS patient.

@@williamcarter9066Damn right.

Love that rambo is friends with the fonz .
Isn’t that just coolest thing in the world?
Rocky and Fonzie!
Henry helped sly re rocky 1...he helped sly get the rights back for rocky 1 which enabled sly to make the film and coup the money
Fonz is based on Stallone.
Colonel Trautman is looking for Arthur Fonzarelli.
Jon lovitz is thinking 'why tf am I here?'
As Jay Sherman would say "it Stinks"
"I wouldn't worry about it", because he gets how stupid this is.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I guess Jon Lovitz is a solid dude
Nah sly good friends with lovitz I saw another vid where sly was hangin out with him
Great to see both Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler together here. They were both great in "The Lords of Flatbush" (1974).
underrated and for me like a bit cult ;-)
@@izom Agreed, takes me back...
Winkler was also instrumental in kicking off Stallone's career when he made Rocky...
Henry's comment after Sly said " I need to talk with my wife " " good luck " right at the end is just classic him😁❤
*Henry Winkler is like the next door neighbor/uncle/friend everyone wishes they had*
not me (but that's cause I'm 'no-one')
Henry really is the coolest dude ever.
Correctamundo.
Well, he’s “Mr. Cool”..

Henry Winkler is a national treasure.

Henry Winkler 😂 Not Wrinkler, dude.
@@edkeaton
LOL!
To be fair, he is a *lot* older than the Fonz now, so . . .
Why this show wasn't called "Sly & The Family Stallone" I will never understand 😂
Its just called the Family Stallone
Maybe it was too obvious. Or they just missed a trick.
Its better to market it as a family name.
And the theme song should have been “Thank you for letting me be myself”
Because they didn’t want to get sued?
Sly, don't look back. The California we all loved is no longer there. Go enjoy the rest of your life with that beautiful wife. DON"T LOOK BACK. Huge lifelong fan.
You’re so right! I wish them well in Florida ❤️
I love that he's friends with lovitz
When's he coming out?
I thought Lovitz just happened to be eating at the same restaurant at the table next to them!

As others have already said, Henry Winkler just seems like such a wonderful human being.
Somewhere there is a joke that starts “2 Stallones, the Fonz and John Lovitz walk into a pizza joint..”

THIS is why I watch..I could care less about the wife and daughters..Give us more of THIS!! Stallone and Winkler..
Wow - two of the movie/TV heroes from my youth. I never knew their backstory together. Love this.

I met Henry Winkler at work he is truly friendly and I mentioned lords of the Flatbush to him
I once had a business call with Frank Stallone. We ended up talking and bullshitting for like 3 hours. He's a great guy to convrse with.
I made a lot off his cds…he has a following
Also a fun fact. The FONZ was Henry Winkler’s impersonation of Stallone.
Shit, that is so obvious now that you point it out! "Eyyyyyy...." yeah, that's Sly.
Wow! I never thought of that before! 🤯
Is this true?
Yes. Many interview with Winkler he has said this. Whether the character was an impersonation of or inspired by Stallone’s persona.
The "good luck" from henry, after sly says i gotta talk to my wife😂😂😂
Che chicca, non sapevo che Sly e Henry avessero lavorato insieme, due grandi personaggi 👍
Many people dont know that Fonzie was winkler’s rendition of Stallone.
The fonz and mr stallone, 2 giants.

Did Fonzie just quote Mao??? 😂
If everyone had Henry Winkler as a close friend, this world would be a much better place.
I met Henry Winkler a few times, what a terrific person.
Someday I hope to meet Sly

Winkler stunned that Stallone is leaving California. Quoting Mao, also Winkler.
Met henry on a water rafting trip with his son. A great person. Good luck to mr. Stalonne in fl
When Fonzie quoted Mao, a guy that committed genocide against his own people….gotta tap out. 😂
Did you see the look on Stallone's face afterwards.
Winkler quoting Moa? Ya best move Stallone. Don't look back.
Henry Winkler casually quoting Mao Zedong is about the weirdest thing ill probably see today
I was just watching "Lords of Flatbush" the other day......I always watch it.....I've even made a replica of the "Lords" leather jacket with the "SAC" overlay on the back.👍👍
I loved watching Happy Days. Used to watch it with my grandma. And Rocky i've seen hundreds of hundreds of times, and Rocky 5 is my favorite!

Getting the hell out of California is probably the best decision you can make right now.
Stallone was in California too long if he thought Mulberry Pizza was any damn good.

Sly is the man, and so fascinating how many icons he's buddies with. And they're just a group of guys hanging out talking bs like everyone else!!!

"This is how it works... the train moves, not the station??" Jon Lovitz - A League of Their Own
Rambo and the Fonz, what an unbeatable combination!
Legends and good friends, Sly did a movie with Henry The Lord of the Flatbush.
No joking, somebody once told me that was an adult film. I'm gratified to learn otherwise.
I came across that movie...thought an odd pairing in a movie but cool to know they are friends.
Sly if you’re moving to Wisconsin, I’ll be your friend. Lol
Mao?!

Yep. Only in Hollyweird.
He acts like he is shipping off to war. He's just moving to Florida.
