One thing that can really be said of live music, you can really hear each harmony line distinctly and follow it along easier. I'll admit album versions of songs do sound beautiful with the harmonies so blended together you can't really hear the individual notes. The blending does sound lovely. But I like to hear live versions and listen to the different harmony lines. 😊
This is a Longest Johns original song and a bloody good one at that, so I suspect you'd have to write your own lyrics sheet which would be easy because its a simple song to follow along with.
I suggest you contact them via their web site or Facebook, they are uk based but happy to consider any opportunities. They also do regular UA-cam live streams
I am afraid you will have to look a bit further East, they are from Bristol, UK. Just for your info they are hoping to get to US next year, if they can get the right gigs, but in the meantime if you are interested you can watch their regular live UA-cam streams, info on their Facebook page etc.
I love the way the rythm and tone of the song makes it sound like a steam engine chugging along
That's the point
Having worked on railroad track, it sounds way more like hammers swinging to accompany the song about building the railroad.
@@sp4439 It has both, the beggining is a train pickin up speed, and so is the end but the middle is about building the actual line
wow its almost like, that was the intention
@@Ratguycantcount Yes. I never said it wasn't. I just like it

I think the first one is "Dirt on my brow...", and for the last one, the line is actually "Sweat and blood gonna earn my pay".
1st: Dirt on my brow
2nd: bossman says that a mile-a-day's the pace
3rd: sweat and blood
I changed the 'sweat and blood' bit right after I posted it, but that didn't get through? I hope my current changes do. I added your additions. Thanks!
Awesome job! I would just add that they are probably saying "Surveyors tryin'a plan which route is best"
I think it's, "I should fall leave me where I lay"

The railroad was built by Irish workers from New York and Chinese workers from San Francisco. God knows how many died.
