Because Taimanin is not really NTR. Like, the whole appeal of the entire series is watching the girls, well, get "treated right and respectfully" *wink*. Some of them are supposed to have a boyfriend or even husband, yet no one cares because the games don't care. They are faceless, have no personality or anything, they sometimes appear in the background and then are as quickly forgotten. Basically, the series has never, ever, actually gone the NTR approach. For the princess connect EoS, there is some things to point out Crunchyroll always had a history of fiddling with the rates of the games they localized, which was the reason why i was sceptical once they annouced that they're gonna have it. Also right before the EoS announcement, it was found out that they indeed fiddled with the rates of Street fighter Duel that just released. and considering that Cygames, the owners of the Priconne ip was already sensitive with legal stuff, its Very likely they pulled the rights from them.
Yeah messing with the gacha rates is just stupid. Crunchyroll clearly doesn't do any market research when making these decisions, otherwise they'd realize why games like Genshin and Honkai make "fuck you" money while they make "fuck me" money.
Interesting. hadnt heard about that. Would explain why people were able to skim through the last patch files of the game and discovered finished translations for multiple months of events and story updates.
Just to be clear, - SIF2 is not just a Skill based game, you LITERALLY CANNOT SURVIVE playing harder level songs, unless you pull more units with higher stamina and healing. That's one of the main factors it failed. - 300 pity pulls is actually the standard, but it's getting outdated by newer games setting it lower and lower. - Pity Pulls doesn't get carried to the next banner is the standard, Mihoyo are the ones that popularize pity getting carried to the next banner.
when you mentioned Taimanin, what popped up first on my mind is tentacles.... i think i played too much eroge recently. i need to meditate and find Zen 😂
The fact Taimaanin Action get better support in ENG version shows how badly they screwed up RPGX outside of Japan. That is considering that action is now in their slow update state focusing only releasing a new chapter only once a year to progress their current story. RPGX is Lilith company's main revenue in Japan for the Taimanin series and they screwed it up big time for the servers outside of Japan.
@@koweedate Thats the problem. The global was handled by the original authors rather than external company which is what is done in JP. They did wonders in the global version and it was a better experience but the failures in community management and gacha economy changes from the Jp model to global due to their lack of experience doomed the game
As for Action Taimanin? The only reason why it's still getting support and even passing 4 years on the west end is because, well, it's actually handled by a competent team, even though they were responsible for angering most of the fanbase by saying that Annerose was a guest character (even though she's already established in the Taimaninverse and the Taimanins were mentioned directly in her own Visual Novel), Gremory Games still gave us a solid US experience for Taimanin. Infini-Brain Inc on the other hand has always been botching Taimanin releases since 2019, and Lilith had been giving the company a chance, oh you bet, we did get Taimanin Asagi Trial, Taimanin Yukikaze Trial, and Taimanin Collection: Battle Arena, but the releases were botched due to the series itself being stuck in Steam release hell for a long while.
Gonna have to correct you on additional issues why Taimanin RPG Extasy failed: Battle pass and VIP system aren't in the JP version, it was on patch 1.0 so YEARS behind for some reason they 10x all gem costs and rewards (so pointless), it was also missing feathures like main screen customization

Worst still is that they ended TABA right before that too, which wasn't a big game and didn't really require a lot of resources at all, but yeah....poof.
just wanna add that taimanin rpgx and the global version are literally completely different games and not only that but the global version was also 5 years beahind meaning that whoever had a jp account had less than 0 incentive in switching even less so considering that, again, the jp version was massively better to begin with
The worst part about gacha and live service games is that they essentially become lost media when the servers go down. You don't just lose your money you also lose a game you might've enjoyed. These games aren't really seen as games or art or media, these games are seen as products to be used and thrown away.
True, part of me wish these games turn into single player games or something so that it's still playable. like, if battle cats server ever go down id like it to turn into something akin to battle cats unite that they have on switch or something similar.
There's one bizarre exception to that. Mega Man X Dive. They lieterally made an offline version and sell it on steam. (Complete with rates intended for a single player game with no MTX.) So this CAN be done, it likely isn't even that hard to do, depending on the game's structure.
Crunchyroll are absolutely the worst, but it's a bit disingenuous to say it was making 1 million a month. Those are JP numbers, which have nothing to do with Crunchyroll. Even in your own screenshot you show global going down to 100k a month. It was likely just a business decision for them, but I wish they had given it a bit longer since there were more exciting banners coming up + the way they handled it permanently ruined their reputation in the gacha space. Announcing EoS on your gacha's main mascot's birthday is very...out of touch to say the least

Ahh.. King's Raid. When did Vespa go bankrupt btw? I stopped playing after getting Kasel's Darklord form and completely lose touch with it ever since.
I still remember when Love Life was announced and the only reason why I had even heard of it in the first place was solely because of the game's release announcement that immediately announced when the game was shutting down which made it a dead game before it was even released... My personal theory is that creators of the game had rights to the Love Life IP, but the contract was reaching the end, but they didn't want to extend the licence deal with owners of the IP so instead they've decided to make a quick game to earn some quick buck out of it.
Crunchyroll literally have the golden goose when it comes to Priconne and all they to do is follow their JP counterpart closely but nope. They killed the golden goose just to make quick bucks.

Really wish I could have a long talk with you about Taiminin RPGx. You only scratched the surface of both the genius and incompetence that went into this game. If not for the debt fiasco and honestly disaster-inducing CM communications the game would certainly be not only one of the best gacha games out there but also one of the most generous ones. Here's just a couple fact. English version of rpgx is magnitudes more generous than jp version, even after all the nerfs. If they hadn't nerfed trust my math indicated you could reasonably pull every banner character ever released. (4 new characters every month released, 6000 gems=120 pulls) The game was not a simple rerelease of the 5y old JP version but an entire remake with a ton of qol JP never got to this day. The rpgx battlepass was a masterpiece as being the most generous BP ever made in existence (5$ would get you not only a bunch of rewards and more than its worth in gems but also a top meta unit straigh-up). Some events had the drop rate odds so screwed up you could farm infinitely for pulls. Said event was stealth changed at least 5 times. The pull mentality for rpgx is diferent from your normal gacha game and people never realised it (skip every common banner unit, pull only in the 4 a year Gosha banner, or the season units which are limited but non-meta).
I'm still amused by how LLSIF2ML announced its shutdown date before its exact release date, that made me laugh when I first learned about it. And it's even funnier now that even it lasted like 7 times longer than that other game at 7:30.
I will never forgive failure of Taimaning RPGX. I was so hyped for global release (and outside of Nutakushit as well) because I have bad connection issues on my phone trying to play jp (on top of not being able to read story and understand things without guides). It has best character designs ever.
LLSIF and brave frontier were my first gachas back in 2014. LLSIF was really old and it sorta made sense that they wanted to make a more modern game with SIF2... but some people had been playing for 9-10 years and nothing meaningful carried over :(. SIF2 came out in JP like a year or a little more earlier than that announcement, then global SIF1 shut down and was like 'hold on we swear SIF2 is coming' in the summer and fall. But SIF2 wasn't doing so hot in JP so global presumably got delayed, and then JP announced SIF2 was shutting down (March 31 iirc) and I think global was legally/contractually obligated to release SIF2 even though the JP version was already shutting down and we only got like 2 more months out of it. Another failure that I was really disappointed with was Symphogear XDU global. It released with an attack on titan collab but there was so may freebies that there was literally no reason to spend money. IIRC it was released just before the pandemic (feb 2020) and only lasted like 2.5 months. it felt like there was barely even enough time to fully experience the first event. The JP version lasted a good full 6 years or so from 2017 to early 2024 , and it was mostly because it was complete / the story was finished.
These gacha game won't die if player are willing to spent on them. If player don't spent on any gacha game all those company will have to go back to create single player or multi player game that have no gacha and their game live or die depend on their creativity and story telling

4:55 as someone who played localized TABA during it's first two-three years on n*taku, I don't remember this feature 🤔 I am not sure, but that screen on 5:02 was just a regular login bonus during a gacha banner that ran a very specific UR card (character) that has ntr scenes unlocked for upgrade (that's MC's right hand/romantic interest btw). Though people still pulled that card for meta and never mentioned about unlockable scenes, this game had some worse stuff anyway
If there's one thing you don't do, it's punish your players for a mistake that you made. The box has been opened already and you gave it to them, taking it back or worse is only going to piss them off. Patching an exploit is one thing, but putting your players into debt over your screw-ups is like holding a gun to your own head, it was just bound to fail at that point.
Jokes on you I would love a Dragon Ball game surrounding Yamcha. Like seriously, He's Underrated for being one of the strongest Human and I wish he gets his own story one day.

The idol posting 1 goodnight video a day to her fans is most likely a marketing stun. Digging a little deeper shows prior to the "incident", she has just joined the idol group for a couple of months, and the group itself haven't release any music for 2 years with many original members already left. She was basically unknown in the industry and have very few fans, after the drama, her number gone up quite a bit.
You forgot Space Leaper Cocoon. An autochess gacha in beta access that decided to piss the whole community by making a remake of the very beta before the former came out: called Space Leaper: Reboot. As part of the sequence, they shut down the former beta and opened the newer one, this while denying any sort of content migration to players. Needless to say that this "remake" announced EoS after less than 4 months.
There's a lot more that could be said about why SIF2 was such a miserable failure. There isn't much information about it, but it's known that the original SIF's last few years were rough. The devs (KLab) suffered a severe financial crisis and struggled to hold SIF and their other games together. KLab released another LL gacha, School Idol Festival All Stars, a spin-off that used 3D graphics, which were an improvement over the original's 2D art. It was clearly an expensive project and aimed for high numbers, but the aggressive pay-to-win gameplay and mismanagement led it to struggle throughout its whole life. For reference, the game had a stamina system where it would constantly drain regardless of skill. The result was it being impossible to finish most maps on any difficulty other than Normal unless you devoted time to pulling and feeding more characters. By 2022, it made about only as half as much as it did in 2020, its launch. It and the original SIF were eventually handled to MyNet games. This is where it's all yet to be confirmed true, but it's generally believed that this was the catalyst for LL's demise in the gacha business. New development means new people, and that means a struggle to understand the initial coding of SIF. This is very likely why SIF2 was conceptualized, to refresh its source code, and with the at the time new idols from the “Liella” brand coming in, the company thought it would be a perfect chance to evolve. But the nail on the coffin was the poor handling of the transition between SIF1 and SIF2. SIF1 was online for almost a decade by then, and many players had accounts that had up to a decade of hard work. Rather than effectively being able to transfer one's progress into the next game, it would just save the “cards” one obtained into a “gallery” that had no other use. Expectedly, this was harshly reacted to by fans. Note that idol fans take their collections of their favorite girl(s) very seriously. This was a dealbreaker for almost everyone. SIF2 floundered on arrival, with a poor player count and poor financial gain. The game was supposed to be released internationally in 2023, but it was clear the game was doomed from the start once it missed the deadline, and inevitably came back, announced on the infamous tweet everyone knows today. I started SIF in 2015 and played consistently until its end in 2022. It was like seeing your own son die in front of you in real-time. It's a tragedy really. Oh, and, the penultimate collaboration SIF received before its shutdown was with the Persona series, being another victim of gachas unceremoniously killed a little after a Persona collab. The signs were always there. tl;dr SIF2 sucked
Oh the Taimanin RPGX global versión damn the fuck up hard and to be honest its not the first time, Taimanin GOGO a family friendly Taimanin game die because Gremory dont know who to sell taimanin Gogo. And before all that, the golden Eggs Action Taimanin almost die with the Annerose incident where they add a fake Crossover character. They only reason Action taimanin survive is because you can buy any character (except Annerose), and it have the best gameplay of any taimanin game, and you cant stay in the game without spending money and enjoy the game at 99% if you dont mind paid Costumes.
It's really sad how badly they mismanaged the global version of RPGX. I absolutely loved the story and a lot of the characters---both female and male. Yet this killed the English version before we got to the real meaty stuff like when Kotaro awakens his Evil Eye and the stuff with Edwin Black
Crunchyroll killing off princess connect then hyping up its anime was the final straw for me, as for love live i remember getting soul crushed because the devs went from making unique pvs on some of the cards to taking screenshots from the anime and slapping it onto them.

I am surprised the Muv-Luv Immortals game isn't on here, although I guess it lives on through dimensions. But that game was shut down in less than 7 hours because of some game-breaking bug that allowed people to exploit and gain items or something. And then it was down for maintenance for pretty much a year. I remember, on the release day, sitting down in a lecture and opening the game up to play, only to then see the live stream the next day, where they dragged on the creator to apologize for the mess.
There's been a few IP based Gacha that have stood the test of time. FGO, and 7DS GC. The problem with them is they get too money hungry and drop back to back banners over and over again making it impossible to keep up unless you're whaling.
@@mechgouki7999 that’s what I said. 7DS is a IP game. And it’s on its 5th anniversary which is longer than a lot of these IP games, and just cause in your opinion it’s ass don’t mean it’s ass to the whole world
FGO is still thriving because they didn't rehash fate/stay night or the other series. they just used some of the characters, and wrote themselves to be a different beast entirely. To the point purist has to read it too, since the main writer of fate, Nasu Kinoko, also writes some stories for it.
@@Kaimax61 I tried FGO like 3 times, and ultimately gave up each time. FGO has one of the absolute worst rates for top rarity characters. It's 1percent if I am not mistaken. I got 1 5* on the first time. After more than 2 weeks for farming for free, I didn't get the 3rd 5*, so I just gave up. Most of the other Gachas are not as bad. Even Nikke. I played Puzzle Dragons for a long time, got many high rarities which I could not effectively use. Princess connect was one of the most generous. JP ver, that is. Arknight's top rarity was 6*, so I never got more than 2, and just gave up as well. But truly, FGO is a skinflint for its top rare characters compared to other games I played. Like Puzzle Dragons, Princess Connect, Monster Strike. Also Azur Lane uses free currency for rolls, only costumes need premiums.
I still remember the Love Live SIF 2 debacle like it was yesterday. Just for a bit of context, the community was somewhat wary of the fact that SIF 2’s days might be numbered due to the Japanese player base criticizing it for being a more soulless version of the original SIF, a game that the fanbase loved. The JP servers had already announced EOS just before the Global version (Which I think was delayed but I don’t completely remember) announced its release date. That iconic tweet was basically a mix of damage control and the sunk cost fallacy. Personally, I was already falling off the Love Live train by this point, having dropped SIFAS before it even announced its own EOS and not keeping up with the anime since, but seeing that tweet had me laughing for about two days. Truly one of the gacha moments of all time
30 mins into OPM World, my 6th sense was telling me "this ain't it chief". Even though I was "enjoying myself" I just knew something was wrong. Glad this video proved me right.
The Love Live fiasco feels like a bit of greed but mostly a licensing issue. Like, they needed to put something out or they'd have to pay for breach of contract. And at least they were honest about it. Mostly. The Taimanin game was just a dumb idea to bring over when they did. Older games have rather abusive monetization. And the OPM game...Crunchyroll. Nuff said.
Aside from Yugioh Duel Links which only lasted me 2 years, Epic Seven was the first gacha game that I got very hooked me for a very long time. But when the game stops being fun and my friends that I used to play with quit while some become jerks, the game becomes more frustrating than ever before, I jump the gun when I spend a lot of money on it when the game became more aggressive with PACs this year and the reward I get is more frustration and disappointment, I decided to jump the gun by deleting my 5-year-old account. Even though I still have the Urge to try the game fresh with a new account but because Epic Seven is not that F2P Friendly that it used to be I can't really considered it. But I think it's the best decision in my life because I promise myself that I won't longer spend on any digital gacha games unless I own physical the product I am buying like YugiOh Cards for example or other stuff. Remove a lot of my depression in the process too,. I also one those poor souls who played Crunchy Roll Princess Connect for 2 years, spend some cash on it too then to realize the gaming shutting down because the Publisher Said So. My History in Wifu Gacha Game is so bad. It make me really sad.
The ntr situation for not logging in would actually work on me. There are a characters in some of the games I've played i would hate to see in that situation, also being cucked in rl hurts enough as is
So to make it short, it's how they were handled that caused their downfall in the Global Servers. Makes sense, specially if some of them are published by a different company in their Global Release.
3:29 as rhythm game player myself i would say... yes, GACHA system on rhythm game (especially idol theme game) was literally useless thing ever and just rellying on having "better" cards for certain event that what going on but some people do really appreciate this system because each card has some skill that rather make the score higher (which is that why i called this system was useless because the real rhythm game are aiming for better combo and technique for getting full combo or maybe all perfect) and also for (im sorry to say this) noobs or new on rhythm game are helped by card skills that when you miss the healt bar was decrease, this card will recover the healt.... seems not but trust me its still useless because on proseka was actually doing bullshit thing that when you run out of healt, rather than you stop playing but this time the game is still running and... guess what? no reward achieve.... haha.... weird
I like that a lot of the points brought up here do and did kill some gacha games... Meanwhile FGO is an IP based game with a lot of these same issues... and is raking it in and doing well regardless. Which is mainly because of the characters and the story writing let's be real. It's phenomenal and makes up for everything. - A guy with two FGO accounts and been here since Day 1
I didn't know about the OPM being that bad but thank god I didn't even try it. Also, have you ever heard about the "Rockman X DiVE" and Nebula Joy? You will have a fun discovering the bs involved on those ones.
God I remember SIF2. I didn’t know what Love Live, and decided to play it, because hey, new global rhythm game. I didn’t like it, so I just left it. A bit later, I found out about the shut down thing. I found it hilarious and confusing at the same time. Recorded the games final day and shutdown (on my channel) and forgot about it until now. Also 3:22. both Alice Fiction and takt op in the same screenshot. Both games i’ve watched and recorded shutdown. Only thing missing would be Final Gear.
Honestly, they need to step up their game if they don’t want to lose the gacha market to China and Korea. Personally, I still play some of their gacha games like FGO and Another Eden, but that’s it. Most of their gacha games feel low-effort with the worst monetization I’ve seen. I know gacha games already have a bad reputation for monetization, but they somehow manage to make it even worse 😂. And don’t even get me started on their habit of region-locking games. It’s like they’ve completely given up on maintaining their place in the gacha space.
they're doing fine in their own world there. the problem comes when the western company want a slice of their pie but fucked up because they're so greedy.

@@0uttaS1TE no, he say the og int becasue NTR is nothig adnormal in the series, is seires whihc focuses on the fetish of character suffering so NTR is like a very normal subjet on the series.
For the princess connect EoS, there is some things to point out
Crunchyroll always had a history of fiddling with the rates of the games they localized, which was the reason why i was sceptical once they annouced that they're gonna have it.
Also right before the EoS announcement, it was found out that they indeed fiddled with the rates of Street fighter Duel that just released.
and considering that Cygames, the owners of the Priconne ip was already sensitive with legal stuff, its Very likely they pulled the rights from them.
The fact that they increased the guarantee from 200 to 300 in global...
Just to be clear,
- SIF2 is not just a Skill based game, you LITERALLY CANNOT SURVIVE playing harder level songs, unless you pull more units with higher stamina and healing.
Miku colorful stage clears that shit tbh
wasn't the pity is now set usually at 200?

The fact Taimaanin Action get better support in ENG version shows how badly they screwed up RPGX outside of Japan. That is considering that action is now in their slow update state focusing only releasing a new chapter only once a year to progress their current story.
RPGX is Lilith company's main revenue in Japan for the Taimanin series and they screwed it up big time for the servers outside of Japan.
Hoping it would be revived and be taken over by the original authors
@@koweedate Thats the problem. The global was handled by the original authors rather than external company which is what is done in JP.
They did wonders in the global version and it was a better experience but the failures in community management and gacha economy changes from the Jp model to global due to their lack of experience doomed the game
For real. I loved the story but the handling was terrible
Gonna have to correct you on additional issues why Taimanin RPG Extasy failed:
Battle pass and VIP system aren't in the JP version, it was on patch 1.0 so YEARS behind for some reason they 10x all gem costs and rewards (so pointless), it was also missing feathures like main screen customization

just wanna add that taimanin rpgx and the global version are literally completely different games and not only that but the global version was also 5 years beahind meaning that whoever had a jp account had less than 0 incentive in switching even less so considering that, again, the jp version was massively better to begin with
Classic JP gacha release, behind YEARS
The worst part about gacha and live service games is that they essentially become lost media when the servers go down.

Makes me worry a bit about FGO's inevitable shutdown, but also thankful fans are crazy-devoted enough to archive whatever they can.
I remember Pseychie made a video about this 🤔

Really wish I could have a long talk with you about Taiminin RPGx.
You only scratched the surface of both the genius and incompetence that went into this game. If not for the debt fiasco and honestly disaster-inducing CM communications the game would certainly be not only one of the best gacha games out there but also one of the most generous ones.
Here's just a couple fact. English version of rpgx is magnitudes more generous than jp version, even after all the nerfs.
If they hadn't nerfed trust my math indicated you could reasonably pull every banner character ever released. (4 new characters every month released, 6000 gems=120 pulls)
The game was not a simple rerelease of the 5y old JP version but an entire remake with a ton of qol JP never got to this day.
Damn, kinda sad it was generous but died so hard
I'm still amused by how LLSIF2ML announced its shutdown date before its exact release date, that made me laugh when I first learned about it. And it's even funnier now that even it lasted like 7 times longer than that other game at 7:30.
Impulsive

That is what IP games maybe seek in their players for quick cash grabs
The JP version lasted a good full 6 years or so from 2017 to early
2024 , and it was mostly because it was complete / the story was finished.
Brave Frontier mentioned lets gooo

I am not sure, but that screen on 5:02 was just a regular login bonus during a gacha banner that ran a very specific UR card (character) that has ntr scenes unlocked for upgrade (that's MC's right hand/romantic interest btw).

Crunchyroll to gacha is like Amazon Game Studio to PC games. If you see them, then it's doomed to failure.
Especially what happen to Girls Cafe Gun when Seasun Games pulled the plug, I loved that game which reminds me of those old top down shoot'em up games

Even though I still have the Urge to try the game fresh with a new account but because Epic Seven is not that F2P Friendly that it used to be I can't really considered it.
It's such a shame cause I really enjoy and still playing the JP version, it's too bad the EN one fumbled so hard.
The cocnept itself is a failure
Why? Servers shut is always a eventually
Thanks for mentioning Pricolle and Sh.ttyroll. I'm still salty about how they treat the global playerbase.
What about Magia Record (JP)? It's lasted 7 years.
pack it up japan just let korea and china take over gacha games lmao
Honestly, they need to step up their game if they don’t want to lose the gacha market to China and Korea. Personally, I still play some of their gacha games like FGO and Another Eden, but that’s it.
Most of their gacha games feel low-effort with the worst monetization I’ve seen. I know gacha games already have a bad reputation for monetization, but they somehow manage to make it even worse 😂.
And don’t even get me started on their habit of region-locking games. It’s like they’ve completely given up on maintaining their place in the gacha space.
But this is talking about the English versions.
they're doing fine in their own world there. the problem comes when the western company want a slice of their pie but fucked up because they're so greedy.
What do you guys think is a reasonable pity?
depend on how much roll you can farm per patch i'd say if you can farm for free like 150 roll then 100 pity is ok assuming the pity and guaranteed carried over banner
Depends on the "time to pity" and the banner schedual.
Huh, I recently just getting back into Taimanin RPG through my Japanese FANZA account after falling off when Visa and every single western bank declaring to not support Japan that relates to porn and anime, but never knew there was a global version and I'm most definitely glad I did not got into it lol.
Never ever play IP based gacha game, yes even the big 3
I'll still never forgive Crunchyroll for Princess Connect Re:Dive.
I don't trust Crunchyroll gachas for shit, but g*damn those neurons activate for Tatsumaki and Fubuki
JP gacha devs really don't know how to run a gacha game that is good for F2P players and for light spenders.
Yeah, a lot of english adaptation from Fanza games fall down poorly,, but the original japan version still ongoing for 5 years btw 😂😂😂
Oh yeah and KamiHime still good in English ver 👍🏻
I don't see how these are the worst ones since only the western versions have been killed.
That's not actually One Punch Man World. That's 2.0 which was a redesign and relaunch they did I think within about a year of the original OPM: World that they did shut down.
poor Sakura I really love Taimanin but the global was a sshitshow
