Question, why is yours' cage proportioned to the size of the phone whilst the link that you provided has a wider space for a phone? Does yours have a different frame size? I want what you have though.
Can't wait to get my mitts on this rig. I was also considering the Ulanzi Lino but that does not come with the attachment to fit another phone/powerbank. And that attchment isn't sold separately.
I was specifically looking for a cage that allows me to shoot both horizontal and vertical videos simultaneously-perfect for UA-cam and vertical platforms. Do you find that the secondary phone mounted externally stays properly centered? Additionally, how do you manage the challenge of controlling the iPhone when it’s facing inward?
I purchased this rig however, I am contemplating on returning it because the USBc connector coming out of the iPhone going into the hub hits the frame of the rig; I am concerned that over time the pressure is placed on the USBc connector on the phone port may get damaged over time. Thoughts?
Just got the new iPhone 16pro max. Trying to design a rig to use that phone along with a GoPro to video high school baseball games. Can you help me design a setup? Want each camera to have independent ssd's. Want to use one large power bank to supply power to both cameras. Will sit on a tripod with iPhone pointing at home plate, and the GoPro facing the field. Will combine the footage in post. Would like to be able to start/stop the iPhone video remotely if possible. The GoPro can just run all times. Great videos & thank you for any help with this.
I have a few pieces of equipment and this very specific rig. My problem is that i want to connect all my equipment to my phone. Let me give context of what these equipment are. 1. ULANZI J12 microphone 2. A field monitor 3. A battery pack 4. A Samsung Note. How do I connect them all to my phone to capture sound, view, and charging all at once?
What I think? Sorry, but this mostly a SmallRig rip-off designwise afaiac. Perhaps you could compare this set-up with a similar SmallRig one? They have even two rigs that could be used for te purpose.
The light can be as awesome as YOU want. The frame gives you shoe mounts so you can put what ever light YOU want. You could put a power bank on it. The phone, the accessories are up to us (the user).
PS, I’ve ordered the Neweer version for the 15 Pro Max and the phone fits directly inside it so no need for removal as it permanently stays in the rig. Comes with a 67mm filter holder plate and an external adapter lens plate. The Pro version includes the handles. Can be mixed with Small Rig accessories too.
I see so many rig videos, but what I’d really love to see is a before and after, or with/without the rig setup on the video quality. I’d like to see what the end video looks like when the phone is in the rig please. Also, do you think the iPhone or Samsung has better stabilization built in already?
Hi @iam_jamietheartist, seeing results is always insightful! MagMirror ensures a clear upgrade in framing and lighting for noticeable quality improvements.
This looks interesting and I would get it if not for one major design flaw in the rig. How are we suppose to attach an ND / CPL or any other kind of filter to this? Maybe there is an option and it just wasn't covered in the video. So, can filters be attached to this rig? Other than that, great video. Liked.
Hi @patrickmastersproductions, leveraging every feature of your iPhone setup is key! MagMirror complements this with its mirroring and lighting capabilities.
trying to beef up my S22U to get more into photo/video life so I dont just look like some guy pointing his phone at everything, its still weird to a lot of people and still kinda makes me uneasy cus i dont want to get mistaken as some perv or pedo and have some hero come snatch my phone just to make sure of what im doing. So far I have zero cage experience I see one by Neewer and one by Beastgrip, and now this one...Beastgrip is crazy expensive but has a decent selection of accessories for their line-up. Neewer seems ok, but def on the cheaper end of things. This Ulanzi seems to be the middle man but i like the look better than the others. Though on this one I dont see any way to incorporate lenses/filters which is something Im looking to do.
And what sucks about those handles are the mounts are in they way when you grip. They needed to be longer. Unless you have 3 fingers. Or you're a woman with small hands. Or a woman with 3 fingers.
That is not functional at all. 1. No power bank. 2. No external SSD 3. No ND filters or Cine lens attachments 4. No follow focus 5. No Usbc port Hub to connect everything together. Please, people, don't waste your money just to look cool. This is for completely AUTO MODE users. You're better off just buying a gimbal and getting a wireless mic system.
Interesting, I like the fact that you can also shoot vertical videos for shorts/reels with that second camera❤
Awesome! Are there options to mount the rig on a tripod/stand?
And now with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, that extra phone mount could instead mount an external drive for recording in ProRes Log.
My exact thoughts
That is what the additional mount is for, an ssd or power bank, never meant for an additional phone.
Trying to find a cage to support the iPhone for video and the iPad for monitoring video. Anything like that exist?
Hi @EyeHeru, combining an iPhone and iPad setup is brilliant! MagMirror ensures precise framing and lighting for an integrated filming experience.

Thank you so much for making this video
Nice video, do you know by chance if the Ulanzi AM18 reciever can be attached to this device? Looks really god.
Great little tool.
I have a question. How do I start the second,
vertically placed phone, if another one covers
the REC button?
With voice control?
Crazy to attach an iPhone vertically for extra storage. Why not get a TRRS to USB-C splitter for the new iPhone 15 Pro Max
This video came out before it was confirmed that the 15 would have USB-C.
@@jeradtech Do the handles rattle or make any noise? I've heard complaints about the SmallRig one having loose handles which rattle
Interesting! But what about lenses and filters?
Definitely was thinking that

How do you make the mic work because every time I plug my mic in to my phone, the audio cuts out
No bluetooth shutter button on the handle?

90° usb c connector would solve the problem
Very nice set up and well demonstrated, I like the versatility of it

I watched the whole video hoping to see how the GoPro would work with this rig, especially since it was featured in the thumbnail.

The belkin usb c to usb c gen 3.2 solves the issue of connecting everything at once

Awesome video. That watch and band are really cool -what brands are those? Thnx lol
BTW it’s a light diffuser not modifier. Good review!
Really nice ser up. Im particularly interested in the tripod that is in your thumbnail if you would like to share.
Keep up the goodness!!
How is brightness and battery life on the light? Does it have different color temperatures?

Hi @turneyjourney, lighting features make a big difference! MagMirror offers adjustable lighting modes for perfect brightness and tone.
What about a zoom ? By fingers only ? Why cant you make it on the handle ?
Keren ini siple bagus complit , tapi di Indonesia seperti nya blm ada model ini 👍👍

How can I get this device
Hi am wondering can this handle a z fold 5?
Hi @markanthonyleberiaga1938, handling various devices is a challenge. MagMirror supports most setups with its versatile design.
looks great i have to figure out which one i need for iphone 15 pro max
Your video rig link must be American, does not work with Amazon UK, different rig altogether, probably an older version. Just so you know.

Probably samsung.

with the new iPhone 15 Pro, you can use the extra spot for battery charger to put an SSD there for external recording.
Yeah. Wishing I’d made this video more recently.
@@jeradtech No worries. The information and the video were awesome as is. It got me to buy one and I have a ton of mobile cages.

El cage no creo que aguante lentes pesados anclados al celular

Can gimbal stabilizer be used with this rig?
Certainly.
Could a foldable phone fit in this rig when folded? (Pixel Fold,One Plus Open). I wonder, since they are thicker, if the rig"s clamp would hold them.
the phone holder seems really cheap and flimsy. No threaded locking for securing the phone in the holder? Just spring loaded? Not good.
It's a power bank or SSD holder. LOL!!!!

Making the phone cinematic? First thing you wanna do is buy a camera. noone should buy these, its just a commercial.
no offence but, that is rubbish rig set up.
