Ok bro, now I am observing the one who hold the steering cups or the portal coz it is very thin. Hope it will last and hope RBR/C will release soon the metal case.
Right on time I just bought them. Very informative review. Cant wait to get them portals. I'm new at this my first car. Made a lot of flex on my C24-1 with HengLong shocks by placing them at 30 degree. But they a bit too fat and steering touches fenders and springs slightly. Hope portal will help with widening and lowering. p.s. (How do you solve wobbling links where they affect steering? cant find ANY video on youtube. When driving forward steering is fine. But when driving backward and turning wobbling links causes entire axle to shift and wheels turn more because of friction of tires and touching fenders. How do you make suspension more tight? What links do you use? any help plz)
Hi I had this problem then I put some adjustable links in and found the perfect spot for the it not to touch the fender on the c14 and c24. also my esc smoked in 3 days on my c24 you can get them online fo for £5 so keep an eye out for smoke on the rtr Also getting my wpl c24 ready for c1 tournament and a wpl c14 for the c2 tournament thinking of trying these out mybe give me an edges lol gl
hi, thanks for the video,I have these axles on MN99s, when riding straight I have no problem, but big problems when steering - left or right - BIG vibrations in the portal boxes and jerky move of the front wheels :( dont know what is wrong, its frustrating :( I checked the bearings and pins, everything seems to be ok. do you have the idea what is wrong? thank you very much.
Nice video. Watched with interest. Just some thoughts: why not use bearings instead of bushings. I was actually surprised to see brass bushings on the shaft with everything else metal. Is the case plastic? Not easy to see from the video.
@@morrisrc might do a hilux revo or a d12 crawler in the future. seriously, i don’t like these portals (for wpls/mns) but i am intrigued by them. i am just wondering if having straights or portals really make a difference on this scale.
Yes as long as you want 10mm more ground clearance but beware the axle case is too brittle I have friends broke tje axle case. Maybe lets wait for the metal axle case to be release. But if you like you can buy now but play with extra careful.
Just broke my wpl axle. This portal axle just popped out of nowhere so im willing to try one. My only worries are more moving parts means more things gets worn down.
I ve been using this for only 30 minutes of playing. The problem is just the plastic cover. Too soft easy to break. Other than that it was excellent blueprint
Yeah it is really brittle. I have a friend he just tightened the scews and it broke. Mine I tried to run in an obstacle tracks and it survive. Watch my latest video.
Watch out, I installed a pair (front and rear) of these portal axles on my JJRC Q65 and the front broke off so easily while only "table-top testing" my model with "simulated" obstacles (pieces of torn off foam board). So disappointed.
The very best review to these portal axles yet! Thanks for the detailed review bro morris!
Thank you bro
Very informative. I just got all the parts for my c-14 kit. 370/2speed, portals, metal links, and aluminum bead locks
Thanks bro.
Am sure that would be a great build and be careful also with the portal axle its really brittle.
What a great presentation. Could you tell me the inside and outside dimensions of the plastic spacer and the width so I can install a bearing instead?
Same bearing for the straight metal axle upgrade. I will find in my pirchase history then I will comment here the dimension.
@@morrisrc Ok my friend thank you.
Very informative review and detailed. Still waiting for my portal axle
Woooh! Ayos bro
I seen they make aluminum ones for mn models but I thought they might fit the c-14. Would you know a be out that?
@MORRIS RC please keep up posted on the durability of these, I’m wondering how the plastic housing parts will hold up…
Ok bro, now I am observing the one who hold the steering cups or the portal coz it is very thin. Hope it will last and hope RBR/C will release soon the metal case.
I bought a set. The front came with cracks in the uprights on both sides cheap plastic. A week later I found an all metal set.
Yes, I also replaced mine mn all metal portal axle.

Good, so you are using the leafspring.

What axle do you have, mn portal axle, wpl portal axle or the metal mn straight axle?
I have MN full metal ones..

Yes sir the axle case is plastic. I am also worried the one who hold the portal is very thin. Hope RBR/C will release metal case for this portal axle.
@@morrisrc I ordered those a while ago. Will see soon enough what they are worth.
Que ruedas son? Tienen buena pinta y las suspension tambien! , ay link? Gracias! Yo acabo de comprar unos portals
excellent review, bro.
i didn’t know that these came with metal gears already.
might consider getting a pair for a future build.
thanks for sharing 🍻😎
Alam kung parehas tau na hindi mahilig sa mataas ang ground clearance hehehehe! Saan mo ilalagay sau? Akin cguro sa hilux truggy wpl c14.

Thanks bro
Can somebody advice me on what to do ?? I received a set and the rear axle basically spins backwards
In the rear axle, remove the portal both ends then exchange the position of the propeller gear and the cover (pumpkin). (Flip the rear axle)
@@morrisrc this worked thank you very much!

another great video!

Oh my bad. The axle case is really brittle hope the rbr/c will release metal case.
@@morrisrc some indo youtuber got his axles literally shattered in hundred of pieces. im not quite sure if i want to buy since oct 10 is discount day
@@meolired bro, maybe wait for the metal axle case for the portal. I am sure rbr/c will release metal case. Several people now encounter broken axle.
nicely done!
Thabk you sir
Is the rig will be higher then using straight axle?
Did you mean using this portal axle? A 10mm height increase of the rig using this portal axle.
Tanks
Thank you also for watching, bro.

Me also try the best way using metal plates to cover the cracked area and seems ok but a lot of modifications.
Thats nice

Nice!!!
Thanks bro
The plastic shells are easy to break...
Yes, very brittle. It broke on my 2nd trail run at the c section, and have to glue it temporarily.
@@morrisrc same as mine bro glued it while waiting for the delivery of the aluminum portal axles that i order.... 👍

The binding on these axle are so stupid
Hahahaha! The bushings too thick
