First I read that I was overwatering. Then I learn that I'm underwatering. Planting is hard 😞
thank you
Wrong this happens when you underwater
Same here lol 😆
@@JoseGonzales-ul9sv how often should you water?
Same here🤣🤣
The tips of my Peace Lily were turning brown. I water them with 3 day old tap water. I sat the watering can in a sink of hot water to warm it. New leaves are growing with no brown tips. They don't like cold water.
I'm having the same problem with my peace lily right now! I'll give this a shot
you have the best explanation just like a class, now I know what exactly I need to do

My beautiful philodendron is having this problem. She was growing beautifully for months then 2 of her mature leaves turned brown. I’m so glad I found this video. The nursery I bought her from said it was from over watering. So I watered her less. Poor baby is probably so thirsty! Do you prefer top watering or bottom watering?
Dear ma'am,
thank you for your kind comment.
ma'am, if we keep bottom tray below to the pots then it help them to take moisture.
so both are good but if we forget to water frequently then bottom tray is good.
thank you
I water mine a lot.. BUT only once a week. They tend to like to dry out mostly then get fully watered. Like until water is coming out of the drainage holes. 👍💙 They like to be watered around the same time. Like I just fill up my tub every Saturday and give them all a big drink 😄
Dear@@carris3ringcircus390 ma'am,
So nice of you.
Thank you for sharing good information with us.
I enjoyed your video, in fact this was the 2nd time I watched.
I have a lot of house plants and I notice this with some of them, that is browning at the tip of the leaves. I understand the cause and how to better prevent it now. My question is, is it OK to cut off the brown part. Or will that just create more problems at the tip?
Thank you!
Dear sir,
Thank you for your kind appreciation and query.
Sir, we can cut the affected parts of leaves and there is no problem if we manage all factors properly after cutting it.
So please test it on one or two plants and after getting satisfactory result please implement for remaining plants.
Thank you
@@organicgardening Thanks so much. Take care!

Sir, thank you for taking a scientific approach to gardening and helping us learn. I recently got into gardening and one of the plants I got was Brahma Kamal (Epiphyllum). I water it for every two days and the drainage and fertilizer are fine as well, but I can see burnt edges. Would you suggest cutting that part of the leave as it seems to have lost its pigment or do you think making some changes such as watering schedule would revive the leaves and get it back to normal? Thank you for the informative video.
Dear Ma'am,
Thank you for your kind appreciation and query.
Ma'am, we can cut it's dry part to save other area of leaves.
If other conditions like sunlight, soil and moisture is OK then it will survive and grow well.
Thank you
Sir, it's very rare to see content creators take the comment section so seriously that they reply to every query. Thank you for your generous answer and keep up the good work. God bless you and your family. Take care and stay safe.
If it's more fertilizer, do i need to repot the plant
@@srivanidesai5347 I think consistent watering (but make sure not to overwater) might help with diluting the fertilizer. Use a slow release fertilizer from next time. If you think the damage is already too much then it would be better to repot. But be careful because plants sometimes cannot take the stress of repotting and might shed leaves or go dormant, but be patient, hopefully everything will be okay.
@@satyadivyach4544 sure 👍and thanks for your reply🙏
Hello thanks for sharing your video I was having the same problems with my plants I was putting sink water on them but I will let the water sit for 7 to 10 days and I still was having the same problem so I bought distilled baby water and now my leaves are not turning brown hope this help someone

Another common cause of brown tips is the accumulation of salts from hard water. If your water is (hard) full of natural salts, flush the soil every few weeks by running water through the pot for several minutes to dissolve accumulated salts and wash them through the soil and out the bottom of the pot.
Dear California Dreamer,
Thank you for sharing such good and useful information with us.
So nice of you.
I use distilled water. Now what
@@bridgetmunoz4646 greatness! That means no salts from your water but the fertilizer can leave salt build up from when the soil dries up more than often. If this happens I usually give a good flush but only if your soil provides enough drainage where you don't cause over watering.
In my nursery over watery doesn't exist. Water just flows right through giving the roots a good rinse.
If none of this works then you need to get enzymes. I add beneficial bacterias to my soil because enzymes are constantly breaking down dead roots, other organic matter, and unused nutrients. They transform them into materials that your plants use for vigorous growth.
What kind of water do you flush the soil with?
@@autumn5852 I use tap water. Salts dissolve in water and run through the soil and out the drain holes. If you’re watering just enough to moisten the soil (and not make a mess on your furniture) then the salts from water, soil, and fertilizer just accumulate because they aren’t being dissolved and washed away as they would in nature (or in Ayyub Faiyaz’ nursery from earlier comment.)
Thank you for your information ❤️👍🏻🙏🏻
Thank you, this is helpful. I’ll try the tips. God bless you abundantly.
So nice of you.
Thank you
@@organicgardening welcome.
Sir very nicely explained. I have this same issue with my peace lily too. I do check the soil and water when top 2,3 inch of soil is dry. Also put a pebbles tray with water and mist regularly for humidity issue. Shall i need to add anything more to keep it healthy? Plz rply.thanks
Dear ma'am,
Thank you for your kind information.
You are doing well, please keep maintain.
Thank you
Add compost with 10% charcoal powder, to retain water in soil. dry soil drains out water faster
Hello sir, wonderfully explained in the video. I just reported my Peace Lilly. Soil I used was regular garden soil and cocopeat. More cocopeat compared to garden soil because the garden soil gets clayey and paste like and water doesn't penetrate all the way to the bottom. I added one morsal of vermicompost in the top layer and watered it.
The weather here in northern India is very dry and hot. Summer has just started.
I hope I did it right.
Please give your input.
Also sir please guide with watering intervals for peace lily. I seem to lose track and I don't follow regularity in watering.
Dear ma'am,
Thank you for your kind appreciation and query.
Ma'am, all are seems good and would be normal to keep plant healthy.
I am little bit worried about using cocopeat with clay soil as it may make it more soggy and water may log for long time.
Please check if water is draining quickly.
Regarding re-watering : peace lily leaves get down when it need instant watering so please note this symptoms for re watering.
Thank you
@@organicgardening ok sir I will check that immediately. Are you on Instagram?
@@organicgardening sir, it's not draining properly.😭😭 What should I do now?!
Dear@@kaonashi93 ma'am,
Please do not worry and let plant stable properly.
Now please take care of over watering.
Thank you
Yep, I’m guilty of all these plant care crimes. I moved house in winter 2023 so my patio containers were the last thing on my mind. The weeds took hold on the soil surface, plus I stopped watering because we had a wet winter. But, I now really the roots weren’t getting enough water. Then, when they began to look sad in late spring I decided to repot them. Thats when they went into repot shock, and the leaves started falling. Now I notice the remaining leaves which are plenty are turning brown. So I’m feeding and watering regularly and hoping they will begin to thrive once more - and I’m forgiven for tree neglect 😬
Thank you great tips! Update; my two trees are looking good, no leaf fall for three days 😅🙏😁👍
The most helpful video I’ve found!!
So nice of you.
Thank you
Sir, my tulsi plant leaves are getting dried up and the growth has also stopped. I have tried all means to receive it but have failed. Kindly give me a solution to overcome this problem and revive my plant. Waiting for your suggestion.
Dear ma'am,
Thank you for your kind query.
Ma'am, there may many reasons behind it and the most common is over moisture.
So please water only when plant soil is getting dry.
I hope this will help.
Thank you
Great explanation. i thought its better under watering then over water.. clearly i got it wrong 😭 im having leave turning yellow also .. what a mess 😭
So nice of you
Thanks a bunch 😊

So nice of you Ma'am,

these things the plants did teach to man, and yet he understandeth not.
I am sure my plant does not underwatering, because the soil always moist. But still my plant has that brown tip area.
Dear MsNovazz,
thank you for your kind information.
It may be due to fertilizers impact also.
thank you
Very informative. Truly appreciate this insight.

Thank you kindly...
Is it ok if I trim the dry parts of my plant?
Dear Sharlotte Dsouza,
Thank you for your kind query.
Yes, we can trim the dry part also.
Thank you

That was super helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I'm worried about my top soil drying faster than the rest of the tall bag I use and possibly drying out the top roots (base). Should I keep the top area damp or would that cause over watering?
Low calcium is also a cause. Calcium is needed to support the cellular structure. Some solutions: ✓Spoiled milk, mix c water then water plants. Powdered milk, either pre-mixed in soil or dissolved in water---->plants. ✓School Chalk, lrg plant~2 sticks, sm plant~1 stk... ✓eggshells, dried 3 days blended to a powder + water --->plant, Save water from boiled eggs, let cool~~~>plants.
So nice of you sir,

We use tap water by purifying it from a cloth .. Is it fine or should we do something other ?
How many times a day we need to water a plant?
Dear sir,
It totally depends on the weather. When moisture is getting low we need to do repeat watering. It may be twice in summer, once/2days in winter and may be once/week in rainy season.
Thank you
