But then we can't see it opened until the 3rd book comes out, but the third book won't come out until the door is opened :O Merciful Tehlu that is a terrifying thought
It's videos like this that are the reason why I like picking up incomplete series. I know everyone bemoans the delay of book 3, but if I just read all 3 books then moved on, I'd miss the ability to speculate and chew on all the details and mystery of the world.
Kvothe having some Fae blood would also serve to explain why he wasn't lost to madness by Felurian, the way all human men had been. By the same reasoning, it may have given him some slim protection from his encounter with the Cthaeh, as afterward, Felurian examined his eyes deeply and pronounced him okay.
I'm not sure, but I think I remember Rothfus said there will be another trilogy after King's killer chronicle, but probably, that second trilogy will be completed when the humanity can make intergalactic travel and reach the speed of light
This is my biggest fear because the simple and truthful answer is no, and what's worse is we already know how the story ends, with no ending kvothe is broken, alone and powerless living as a nobody innkeeper.
Technically that’s not how the story ends. Only where it is right now. The framing device of Kvothe as Kote the innkeeper has hinted that his actions did a lot of damage to the world. That the current war is his fault. On top of that Bast is taking more and more drastic actions to try and rekindle Kvothe’s fire. My guess is that once the story catches up to Kvothe as an innkeeper then it will continue. I doubt he can set everything right but he can at least do something. At the very least we’ll probably see the effect his personal accounting of his life has on the world after Chronicler releases it.
To connect the Idea about the 4 Doors of the Mind: sleep, forgetting, madness and death at 19:33 in the video, you said it yourself earlier with Master Elodin's quote :"Valaritas. God. I can still remember what it was like, standing down there looking at the door, wondering." He laughed again. "Merciful Tehlu, it almost killed me." We know Elodin at least went through the sleep (sleeping of the mind) and the Madness state so we can only assume he went through the forgetting door as well. and the last door he couldn't open which was death, hence his quote about the door. We can also make a connection to this with Taborlin the Great, since he went through these doors since Elodin was "mocking him" while going through how he escaped the crockery on page 313. There also is some kind of connection to those who have gone through the door of madness with those already in the crockery since on page 308 The front desk lady says "The moon's getting full, too. You know how it gets". (If you want to try to connect it to the Fae realm)
I think puppet is also a fire extinguisher. He keeps open flames nearby so that the name of fire is always on his lips. I’d never thought that he could also be a chandrian alarm.
He keeps open flames around because fire is useful, and not dangerous with him around. If you know a name it's always available to you. It's only erratic while you're still learning it.
I have problems with the theory that puppet is the guard watching for the chandrian. Hilax put iax behind the door, why would he come free him. It makes no sense.
So, I’ve had a pet-peeve theory for a few years and you pointed at something the brought it to a whole new level. 1- According to Shehyn, A better name for the Chandrian is Rhinta (and, since that song has the true names of the chandrian, it seems to be a reliable source) 2- the skin changer at the end of day 1 asks kvothe Te Rhintae?, which I imagine is something like Are you a Chandrian? (Or another question Chandrian-related) 3- now, if according to the text at the archives and will’s translation ‘rhinata’ means ‘shapes’, then ‘rhinta’ might be ‘shapers’. Thus, the Chandrian are the shapers, they created the fae realm, Haliax stole the moon and sparked the creation war. Maybe the skinchanger was asking kvothe if he is a shaper? Did he make a huge shaping mistake (like when he bound the air to his lungs and almost asphyxiates, but on a planetary scales) sparking the current war, freeing the scrael...
Perhaps his mistake was opening the door and not being prepared to deal with what was guarding the other side, or what came through. I think he started the war when he killed Ambrose with the name of stone.
My pet theory revolves around denna and something he says when pretending to banish Bast about denna-leyna. I think Denna is not the love of his life, but a creature od Fae and part of a long con.
Haliax being iax thing may hold some merit, but I have issues with it, we know for a fact that haliax is lanre. And that kinda shits on that idea, also the chandrian are most definitely not shapers. I retract the later of that statement it's amazing how the brain works as I was typing it I decided I was wrong they might be shapers but still haliax and iax are not the same person, I personally believe iaxs name has been locked behind the four plate door and his body has been bound to the cathea¿
Heiðar Hlöðversson I think Kvothe’s mother was Meluan Lackless’ sister. Kvothe’s mother is said to be of nobility but joined the Ruh after falling in love with Kvothe’s dad. Similarly, Meluan’s sister joined the Edema Ruh after falling in love with a trouper. Also. Kvothe studies Meluan’s face intently as he finds her extremely familiar but can’t put his finger on why.
@@hiraimran2848 There's also a strong hint in the form of a pun Kvothe's father tosses out at the beginning of the first book, "it is worth my life to make my wife not tally a lot less (Natalia Lackless)"
At this point who Kvothe's mother was before she married is pretty well established. Remember when Kvothe's mother took him to task for repeating a children's rhyme slurring Lady Lackless who "took her riddle raveling"? She was upset because the rhyme targeted her. The larger question is, who knows about his noble blood. His appearance and gossip are enough to attract the attention of people familiar with the prophecy. Including most of the Masters.
Loved the editing on this! Everytime I watch one of these videos, I somehow love these books even more than I already do. For the connection between the four plate door and the four doors of the mind - maybe to open to door, you somehow need to experience the four doors of the mind to open it? This would make sense with what Elodin said, that it nearly killed him - perhaps he got to the madness door to try and open it, but didn't quite get to the "death" door? (I mean, we already know he's certainly mad).
I always connected Auri with the moon. I mean Kvothe even calls her his moon fae and as we have seen he has an almost subconscious naming ability, with the horse in NOTW.( she is one of the major questions i have and want answered in the next book!) But I never connected Kvothe with Jax nor the door with the anything to do with Jax. Though I have long thought that the four plate door/ doors of stone were references to the door that Lanre gave his life to close. It would make sense that Jax is sealed behind that door, or has something to do with it AND that the four plate door is directly related to the lockless box. I think the lockless box will play a huge role in the next book. Also the bit about Lorne being an amir. Never thought of that! makes a ton of sense though. He is propaly the only one that would be able to censor books that had anything to do with the candran. Also also Puppet with the candles. that just blew my mind. Rothuss tends not to waste words and puts stuff in that seams to be just a strange little thing or not even worth mentioning only to turn it into a major plot piont. I mean in the first book we get the Lackless rhyme and it gets put off to the side as a simple, if insulting, little rhyme only to have it come back in the second book as a plot piont and it is one of the biggest questions left yet unanswered! Rothuss needs to finish that damn book!!!!!
Completely agree with your thoughts on Auri being connected with the moon, which makes the parallel of Jax and Kvothe really interesting. And I definitely think the lockless box will play a big role in the next book as well. Aghh there's so many things that need to be answered in the third book!! Trying not to get my hopes up, but this last New Years Rothfuss re-tweeted a fan-art of Kvothe that said: "Happy New Years! I hope to return in 2019!" Hopefully him re-tweeting this means that we will at least get a release date this year!
I don't think that the four-plate door has anything to do with the Doors of Stone. And Lanre didn't give his life to close the Doors of Stone; it was that he wasn't able to stay behind them. He couldn't die.
@@susanmercurio3193 Lanre dies at the Blac of Drossen Tor(spelling may be wrong) and his wife Lyra brings him back via naming. But it gas been awhile since i read the books. Been sitting here waiting for the next one.
He's probably waiting for the movie and tv show to come out before releasing DoS. That's my theory, anyway. I've heard a possible release sometime between 2021 and 2023 but, honestly, who knows.
What if the 1st and 2nd books are giant connect the dots, and Patrick is waiting for the fans to create more and more complex theories that are compatible with each other. And once the final theory is created, he'll just say that that's the 3rd book, which he wrote inside the first two books. And then he'll ask for 20 bucks from every reddit user, so he can keep on growing his beard and build his words.
Man, I didn't know people thought the underthing was the town from the Adem story, it's super neat to me. I also personally love the idea & mental image of Kvothe finally becoming a shaper of things using his mastery of the wind & his knowledge of music to communicate vast ideas & it all culminating in him singing the wind through the flute door & it reverberating in the archives. The underthing's once dormant pieces begin to move as the door opens up & reveals all that we've wanted to know. I never took Felurian covering Kvothe after the light spell to be her literally suffocating him, but it's a neat thought. It felt more like her actually exerting her control of him that she tried in the beginning, but respectfully enough not to just take him & break his mind with it. I always assumed Puppet was just a scriv that cracked, & that worked with Elodan to find the name of fire, hence why he can have candles if he pleases. They're his watchful reactive audience to his puppetry & if any piece of fire touches the archives you have a literal fire extinguisher one floor away. Neat video, I hope to see more KKC from you my dude. (Crossposting this from the KKC subreddit to help the YT metrics.)
It's cool that you decided to make a video about these lines. I thought about them a lot before. 1. One of them a ring unworn - One a ring that's not for wearing 2. One a word that is forsworn - One a sharp word, not for swearing 3. One a time that must be right - On a road, that's not for traveling, She's been dreaming and not sleeping(A night with no moon is one of the things all wise men fear.) 4. One a candle without light - Right beside her husband's candle 5. One a son who brings the blood - Lackless keeps her husband's rocks 6. One a door that holds the flood - There's a door without a handle 7. One a thing tight-held in keeping Then comes that which comes with sleeping - There's a secret she's been keeping . 1- name "There were rings unseen on his second hand. One was blood in a flowing band. One of air all whisper thin, And the ring of ice had a flaw within. Full faintly shone the ring of flame, and the final ring was without name" 2- name of the moon (Iax got name of the moon by deceiving, forsworn) or name of the Denna's master (Kvothe swore to Denna not to look for her master he swore on his name, his power and his left hand) ore Haliax's true name. 3- new moon 4- Haliax's candle. Lyra is lackless, Lanre is her husband. "The other candle sat underneath his outstretched hand: it was grey with a black flame, and the space around it was smudget and darkened " 5- someone from the lakless family (Kvothe) 6- Doors of stone 7- Moon comes at night when people sleep. This Secret might be the name of the moon.
There's more to number three, I think it's not per say specifically a new moon but is speaking of the dawn realm which is timeless in itself yet had darkness in certain places
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it, the script and editing took me a lot longer then expected! This is one of the biggest mysteries to the books and I can't wait to see what Pat has in store for us once the 3rd book is out
Only thing I worry about is with so long between that all these theories and videos and reddit threads people stumble on the truths and they get dismissed or put to the side and then if they come to be true it’s like we already worked it out. Or even worse dismissed it and it becomes lacklustre
Would you consider making videos summarizing the books? I'm sure when the third comes out I'll have forgotten most of this stuff, and I would greatly enjoy relieving the story in this format to freshen up the memory. Your theory videos are what keep kingkiller alive in my mind while waiting :P
Absolutely! Actually I'm thinking about hosting a big Kingkiller read-along on my channel in a few months, where everyone can read the series along with me and at the end of reading each book I'll put out an in-depth summary video for each :)
@@dillonbryan9440 he just made a really good video recently which summarized the first book, I believe it's almost an hour long you should be able to find it on the channel
Wow! What an awesome theory video! Been waiting for months for a new video & that one was epic, such a fantastic job done! I'm currently listening to Name of the wind on audiobook & picking up on all the hidden things I missed when first reading it thanks to you 😁
Thanks, glad you enjoyed! Yeah I took a few months off just because life's been busy but in that time I practiced a lot of new video editing stuff that I put into this video and will be doing with future ones! The next videos shouldn't be so far in between as this one :) The audiobook is fantastic, Nick Podehl does a great narration!
Fantastic video. I've read each book a dozen times and some of that theory crafting is too on point to ignore...and I had not thought of any of it. Keep making great content!!
@@CapturedInWords I'd visit you! No shoes of course. I've been a NOTW fan since 2008 and I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels the need to be locked up!
This was a great video. I'm on like my 5th read through of both books. I agree with everyone that's commented the 3rd book is behind the door. I've been waiting forever...
I am so glad I found your channel. You get me excited again about the series! And also, I was alot younger when I read the books for the first time. And now that I am reading them again, I love comparing new theories with your videos. Keep them coming! Hi from Mexico!!
That's awesome to hear! Enjoy your reread! What I love about this series, is that with every reread I always catch something I didn't before. So I'll most likely reread them numerous times before the 3rd book is out!
Really impressive video! You are the only UA-cam blogger I regularly follow and it's been fun to track your rise in skills and production. Love how you pull together various theories and make it cinematic. It feels like in this dark age of new content from Mr. Rothfuss, this...is all we have. 😢 I admittedly reread these books due to your poking at all the things I missed the first time. Know that your videos are likely rekindling more than just my excitement for this dormant world we all miss. Looks like thousands agree. Goddamn I can't wait for that third book! But... If it's as satisfying as the first two, I will wait the rest of my life. I'll officially be pissed on my deathbed if status remains unchanged though.
Haha thank you! I think this video I probably put the most work into, and learned a lot of new editing techniques that I'll be putting into videos going forward :) Also I think sometime in the next few months I'm going to start a big Kingkiller buddy read, so everyone can read it together with me and chat about it. Then at the end I'll make an in-depth summary video for each book!
Just started watching your videos today, Captured in Words, and I'm really enjoying how you're digging into these finer details to work out these very strong theories. Turns out I missed quite a few things on my first 4 times through the books, lol. That's actually what draws me in so much with these works... that these stories are not just these quick setups that get built on as you go, but EVERYTHING seems to have a deeper meaning and some kind of mystery behind it. Every time I open these books and begin reading, I feel like I'm also working through a puzzle, trying to solve these incredible mysteries about the true history of this fantasy world. I could write a whole book here about all the things I love about these books, Lord knows I was about to! :D But it seems you already see these stories in the same light I do, and I can say that everything that happens in this story appears to have a connection to something else that I believe simply makes these works deeper and more complicated than you're average story.
Wow! Way to articulate some kickass, highly viable theories. I'm doing my first re-read right now with my boyfriend who has never read the books and I'm so eager for him to finish WMF so we can talk about all of this!! He hates spoilers but we will definitely be watching your videos again
If you assume that Kvothe will open the door, which is very likely, then I don't think iax/jax is behind it or that would break the world. I though I heard PR mention how Kvothe wouldn't be an influence as large as that. Or maybe the disorder in the current time frame is worse than we think.
I think there's a lot behind the four plated door. It might be covering some sort of portal to the fae, one of the 'cracks' from Jax's (Iax's) house. Or maybe it is just some sort of "forbidden section" like in Harry Potter but I think it's more than that. Might be some sort of test to open it and face what's inside.
I think, The lockless door and the 4 plate door are separate and not the same thing. The 4 plate door hides knowledge of sympathy and naming IMO. and the lockless door on the lockless estate is keeping an evil at bay. I come to this theory because the masters know whats behind it, but they do nothing to protect it. So it just seems like an area that hides intimate knowledge. where as no one knows of the scrale* save the fey. So i think Kvoth unleashes the Scrale* whilst on his curious adventures. I think there is a third angle to his curiosity and that is that Ambrose becomes king. "Taking the Kings coin" There is definitely a civil war going on, with maybe two different kingdoms and the fey realm.
Damn, you really caught the atmosphere of the books with all that fan art, music and great editing!! Plus i had to laugh out loud here and there... and as we all know laughter's good for the digestion ;-)
Great Intro! Your videos keep getting more and more awesome! I was thinking of another great video idea: Where will Kvothe go after he’s expelled from the University? We know he becomes an assassin right? So does he go back to The Adem? How will we find out about dear old Aunty Lackless? Plus let’s not forget Dennas sadistic patron?
What if Kvothe has to call on "The Name of the Wind" to play the Four-Plate door like a flute? He is a musician after all... The flute like holes were mentioned to be on the door. Just a thought sparked by your video. Thank you for sharing your ideas. Most of them are pretty solid.
Hey dude this is great stuff. First video I've seen of yours and I can tell you put a lot of care and effort into it. I'm now a subscriber and I look forward to checking out your past videos. Keep up the great work!
Oh, lord. I had a rough time catching up since my first language isn’t English and the Spanish names of things are way different. But it didn’t stop it from being a great experience. Great video, bro!! ✨
Goddamn your attention to all the small details that all connect together is amazing! It really got me thinking and makes me love this series even more. Love your content!
That was a really good theory tbh. I never thought that Iax/Jax as a that important character. Kingkiller always surprise me with the detail and hints it has. Everytime I read it over, I realize and find new things that I missed before. 19:18 the door you mean can be the Black Door which mentioned in The Slow Regard of Silent Things. The Black Door could be related to The Four-Plate Door or Iax. In that book Auri looks pretty scared from Black Door when she thinks about it. Also she got closer to that "Black Door" by mistake. That time she got stressed out and scared really hard and run back as far as I remembered. It's not the only thing she scares but that was especially weird. There is something very special about that door too.
First of all, amazing video! You are incredibly underrated, I find it insane how you only have 15k subs. The editing, narration, and theories were great. Secondly, where do you get all these beautiful art pieces? Thirdly, thank you! I have 200 pages left to read of wiseman's fear. and this video reminded how amazing the books are, I'm mad that I didnt finish the book sooner. I was distracted by the witcher 3, then sekiro came out. I'm now hyped to finish up wise mans fear, and excited for the stone doors.
Hahaha I can definitely relate to getting distracted by witcher 3, I've spent many an hour in that game ignoring the books I should've been reading XD (seriously though that game is amazing) I haven't played Sekiro yet, though I am tempted... And thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video! I put a lot of effort into the editing on this one but I think it was worth it. I've linked most of the artwork in a folder in my description, but most of the art I find on DeviantArt or ArtStation. I probably wouldn't be making these videos if it weren't for all the amazing fan art, so the artists definitely deserve credit!
As lately UA-cam is not working very well, i would say that behind the door is an effective notifications algorithm. And it is not gonna notifie u properly until Pat decides to open the door in the 3rd book. Nice video btw.
Great video, my man! It's guys like you who could basically write book 3 for Pat. Actually, it is guys like you who have made Pat's job incredibly difficult. He knows there are fans out there who know his books better than he does. Books 1 and 2 set up a lot of the mystery and he didn't have to worry too much about solving anything or answering any questions. But book three is going to have to explain a lot of stuff. At this point it is going to look like either fans guessed right or that Pat ripped them off. I wonder if what is taking so long to get the third book out is because he keeps changing the answers to his loose ends. Who knows.... ? All I know is that I'll be really happy when his publisher takes the rights away from him for breech of contract in taking too damn long to finish the third book and finds someone to finish it for him. Forget his obligation to the fans to finish the story, but he has a contractual obligation to his publisher. He signed on for a trilogy and he needs to deliver a trilogy. For his publisher to say she hasn't seen word one of the third book leads me to believe Pat is in a serious rut and just doesn't have the balls to admit that he is nowhere near close to delivering a product.
Jay, this video is fantastic as always. Your passion, knowledge and style of delivery are all outstanding. Like you, I am eagerly awaiting what we will find on the other side of the Four-Plate Door 😉
I get it but... When reading a book people pronounce things in their heads, that word comes to mean something to them and even if they learn the proper way of speaking it that word just starts to feel wrong when spoken and it loses some of its meaning, I understand the desire for a authenticity but there is much more to word pronouncements that aren't defined in articulation until after the connection has taken hold so I tend to find it acceptable. Not trying to change your mind just offering a different perspective
You tube just auto replayed this for me.... I didn't rewatch the whole thing but I noticed that your opener is perfect in many ways. Mostly that not only did you read the passage well but as you're a younger man your voice fits the story. Is it Kvoth? Perhaps a friend of his? I think it's better than standard old man narration
Still sitting here with Master Namer throwing pebbles at the door a year later. We believe that bananas are most likely not behind the door. Otherwise we're starting not to care at this point.

Puppet is amyr, going through all the books coming in, and removing/changing them. The door to is just a stair way down to the amyrs old meeting hall. Since they all gathered there , the university was built around there tower/tombs. Its awesome that you read all this comments 😅 Yes, lots of what you said makes a lot of sense. I'm always listening to the audiobook the last few weeks and i had some similar thoughts. I just think that the underthing is just the ruins of the ancient city and not much else. Please make more videos if you find some interesting content. Greedings from germany
I love reading the comments! :) The audiobook is great, I really enjoy Nick Podehl's narration. I really hope it does release in 2020! I think it would definitely make sense, as it would revive some of the fan base that thought it would never come out as well as build hype for the upcoming adaptations. Also on New Years Pat retweeted someones fan art of Kvothe that said "Happy New Years! - I hope to return in 2019" Seems pretty significant for him to retweet that, maybe he will give us a release date this year! 🤔

Idk how this only has three likes but you're perception is exceptional.
@@bigboyjeff6151 thanks haha, just hope the next book comes out within the next decade so we can know if I'm right or not
All this built up anticipation.. I think I’ll go into shock once he releases the final book.
I think I'll just lock myself behind the doors of stone for awhile so I can reread it over and over
Captured in Words sounds like an amazing plan.
after all this time I think I might be too scared to actually read it and find out what happens. almost.
after all this time I think I might be too scared to actually read it and find out what happens. almost.
It will be shock or disappointment. Assuming it's released in our lifetimes.
I think puppet is also a fire extinguisher. He keeps open flames nearby so that the name of fire is always on his lips. I’d never thought that he could also be a chandrian alarm.
This is a great theory as well! I definitely think it's possible he knows the name of fire
@@CapturedInWords When that was mentioned I also though of the puppets themselves rotting as one of the other signs of the chandrian being nearby
@@bigboyjeff6151 maybe the sithe are trying to bring jax back?
So, I’ve had a pet-peeve theory for a few years and you pointed at something the brought it to a whole new level.
1- According to Shehyn, A better name for the Chandrian is Rhinta (and, since that song has the true names of the chandrian, it seems to be a reliable source)
2- the skin changer at the end of day 1 asks kvothe Te Rhintae?, which I imagine is something like Are you a Chandrian? (Or another question Chandrian-related)
3- now, if according to the text at the archives and will’s translation ‘rhinata’ means ‘shapes’, then ‘rhinta’ might be ‘shapers’.
When I first read this, I thought you wrote that you have a pat-peeve. Also, "yes!" to this theory!
This theory makes a lot of sense Hal iax it's literally in his name
I’m a simple person. I see KKC content, I click
His love for pens is greater than your love for cats. Give up old lady. You are not a cougar.
I completeley misread (i see KKK content....) And went "oohshit"
after Kvoth´s first tuition setting Lorren asks about his father. Maybe he was trying to puzzle out if Kvothe is a Lackless...
Audio Technical ooo didn’t think of that! Nice!
Maybe Kvothe's father was one of the Amyr. "I know, I know, it was all for the greater good."
These videos always get me hyped for book 3!!!
Honestly, making them gets me hyped for book 3 as well XD
Its never going to come out.
Captured in Words when do you think it will come out, I’m hoping soon btw love your kick videos, they are all so good 😄
I always connected Auri with the moon.
I hope to return in 2019!"
Hopefully him re-tweeting this means that we will at least get a release date this year!
@@CapturedInWords That is awesome! I would love to see the boo come out here soon! Or at least before I die that would be nice too....
Bwahhhaaahhhh!!!!
Yup, before death is a reasonable goal... :D
Sadly the least believable theory is the third book coming out in the near future
The story of the third book has faded into myth and myth into legend, and even the legend is long forgotten when the book is done.
Dude should just pass on the story to someone else if he ain't gunna do anything with it
He's probably waiting for the movie and tv show to come out before releasing DoS. That's my theory, anyway. I've heard a possible release sometime between 2021 and 2023 but, honestly, who knows.
This series is just like Manet, the eternal duology.
1. One of them a ring unworn - One a ring that's not for wearing
2. One a word that is forsworn - One a sharp word, not for swearing
3. One a time that must be right - On a road, that's not for traveling, She's been dreaming and not sleeping(A night with no moon is one of the things all wise men fear.)
4. One a candle without light - Right beside her husband's candle
5. One a son who brings the blood - Lackless keeps her husband's rocks
6. One a door that holds the flood - There's a door without a handle
7. One a thing tight-held in keeping
Then comes that which comes with sleeping - There's a secret she's been keeping
.
1- name "There were rings unseen on his second hand.
One was blood in a flowing band.
One of air all whisper thin,
And the ring of ice had a flaw within.
Full faintly shone the ring of flame,
and the final ring was without name"
2- name of the moon (Iax got name of the moon by deceiving, forsworn) or name of the Denna's master (Kvothe swore to Denna not to look for her master he swore on his name, his power and his left hand) ore Haliax's true name.
3- new moon
4- Haliax's candle. Lyra is lackless, Lanre is her husband. "The other candle sat underneath his outstretched hand: it was grey with a black flame, and the space around it was smudget and darkened "
5- someone from the lakless family (Kvothe)
6- Doors of stone
7- Moon comes at night when people sleep. This Secret might be the name of the moon.
There's more to number three, I think it's not per say specifically a new moon but is speaking of the dawn realm which is timeless in itself yet had darkness in certain places
And for number seven it just seems to be connected to Auri in some way, just theories but they seem to make sense in some ways
Another Kingkiller video, I’m so excited!
:D
Such a well done video, Jay, as always! Lots and lots to think about here. Thanks for all of your hard work to share your ideas with all of us.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it, the script and editing took me a lot longer then expected! This is one of the biggest mysteries to the books and I can't wait to see what Pat has in store for us once the 3rd book is out
Great content mate as usual!! That editing though... amazing! Good to see you again my friend!
this third book may be the greatest book ever written. I understand his delay. He is on the precipice of something potentially timeless.
Could not agree more, if he needs more time to make it timeless, then so be it.
Nahh. He just wants to mess with everyone by never finishing because he understands his own hubris.
The greatest book never written*
Problem is you need to be timeless to read it.

Great video! I absolutely love this series and you're theory/lore videos are awesome
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow! Way to articulate some kickass, highly viable theories. I'm doing my first re-read right now with my boyfriend who has never read the books and I'm so eager for him to finish WMF so we can talk about all of this!! He hates spoilers but we will definitely be watching your videos again
What do YOU think is behind the four-plate door in the Archives?
Janitor's closet?
I think, The lockless door and the 4 plate door are separate and not the same thing. The 4 plate door hides knowledge of sympathy and naming IMO. and the lockless door on the lockless estate is keeping an evil at bay. I come to this theory because the masters know whats behind it, but they do nothing to protect it. So it just seems like an area that hides intimate knowledge. where as no one knows of the scrale* save the fey. So i think Kvoth unleashes the Scrale* whilst on his curious adventures. I think there is a third angle to his curiosity and that is that Ambrose becomes king. "Taking the Kings coin" There is definitely a civil war going on, with maybe two different kingdoms and the fey realm.
behind the four-plate door in the archives is ME 🤭😂
ITS FINALLY HERE!!!! Awesome content as usual and well worth the wait!

I love your videos. A lot of the ideas I hear fall in line with the natural progression of my thoughts on these topics. Very entertaining
Also editing looks amazing. I need those animated wallpapers you have in this video.
Merciful Tehlu, it all makes sense now. In that case I'm hoping (even more then I was) that Pat will release that 3rd book soon.
Thank you for this video. You gave me goose bumps when I didn’t realize like half the hints you said, and pat’s hints
Glad you enjoyed! :D
This is your best video yet!!!!
Thanks!! I put a lot of work into this one!
These books are amazing. I listened to the audiobooks and I’ve never been so enwrapped in a book.
Excellent video. Your voice is real clear and fluent, I like it. I wonder if you trained it or thats the way you normally talk.
When Kvothe meets Meluan he recognizes her but can’t place it.Kvothes mom was Meluans sister. Making Kvothe a Lackless.

Jay, this video is fantastic as always. Your passion, knowledge and style of delivery are all outstanding. Like you, I am eagerly awaiting what we will find on the other side of the Four-Plate Door 😉
You should really watch the video where Rothfuss tells us how to pronounce the names of his characters / locations.

Puppet is also Manets son, thought they dont know, Manet and his gf years before got into the 4plate door and found the meeting hall, they found a letter directing them to a location of the present meeting hall. There she joins the amyr, but Manet declined. The amyr, they spoke his true name and wiped his memory back to before they got into the door. Changing it to a fight and them separating. Forgetting the months they traveled together. she found herself pregnant but his memory was gone. She raised puppet as a amyr”that’s why puppet seems odd”. In the end kvothe will kill puppet getting the title king killer. Manet was the 2 child to the king of vintas, kvothe patron brother. Though he never want to leave the university he will when his brother dies, at his coronation his old gf comes back and introduces his kid. Aura is the box the part of the moon is held in. When she dies at kvothes hand, an accident, It rips the moon from the fey, and that’s why the fey are attack the human realm. Hence kvothe saying. Bast u know as well as I, this is all my fault. Kvothe is hiding from Denna since she gave him up to her patron, he managed to destroy the patron, but denna was made to take mr ash’s place in the chandrein, and she wants revenge. Hope this was entertaining
Its awesome that you read all this comments 😅
Yes, lots of what you said makes a lot of sense. I'm always listening to the audiobook the last few weeks and i had some similar thoughts.
I just think that the underthing is just the ruins of the ancient city and not much else.
Btw pat once said he would release book 3 in 2020 (probably it was meant as a joke) but since the is so much going on about some tv adaption, it might become true, that we realy get book 3 in 2020 (or 21 or 22) togehter with the tv release.
Please make more videos if you find some interesting content.

I love reading the comments! :)
The audiobook is great, I really enjoy Nick Podehl's narration.
@@CapturedInWords i'm listening to the audible version with rupert degas 😅its great for listening to it at work as well as falling asleep to it 🙈🙈🙈
Dude... Please pronounce the name Kvothe correctly.
Nhat Dam every time he says “Ka-vothe” I slip out of the video...
"My name is Kvothe, pronounced nearly the same as Quothe."
Dude you nailed it this was my guess but not so articulated, but thoughts I had at thear mentioning. Good work now maybe Patrick has what he needs to complete the third book now 🤣.
