Ferrari's New V-12-Powered Flagship

- Ferrari's new front-engined flagship, coming this summer, is perfectly proportioned and refreshingly different, yet 100 percent true to the brand and oozing Italianità through every pore of its lavishly appointed interior. The striking two-seater was designed in-house by maestro Flavio Manzoni and his team, and it is such an obvious tribute to the legendary 365GTB/4 that it should be badged Daytona-which won't happen, because Ferrari already wasted that coveted name on the limited-edition mid-engined Daytona SP3. “All 12 cylinders are in there.” Wow, brilliant car commentary.
That will be 10 million sir.
that's what she said.
@@pjbiggleswerth8903 12* one million for each cylinder
I think he was being comical eluding to how small they even managed to make a V12
I only found 4 of my 12 in my car
You usually find only 10 of the 12 but looks like we have all 12 in there this time … thank goodness pheww 😅
a 10cyl ferrari does sound interesting tho
@@Infamous.07 agree and in todays world anything more than 4 we should appreciate brother. Once electrification scales it’s going to hit hard.
He reminds me of the Inside the Actors Studio host that Will Farrel made fun of on SNL.
I was kind of hoping the lost 2 cylinders
And if you mod it to a 10 cylinder Ferrari will ask you by letter to revert it back.. otherwise SUE YOU! Only exhaust and wheels pretty much. Can't even call it like herrari like the youtuber does
Guess you better buy a supra and swap in a v8 and do what you want with out harassment
Thank goodness those wheels are milled we wouldn't want them to be forged which make them both stronger and lighter
Not necessarily. I expect you're thinking of forged vs cast wheels. These milled wheels though will presumably be milled from a forged block. Now, true, milling will cut the grains of the block, which would be inferior to a forged wheel with unbroken grains. But on the other hand, you'll have much more flexibility in terms of designing the shape, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if a stronger and/or lighter wheel could be achieved. (In fact I'd be surprised if that weren't the case, because Ferrari isn't stupid, and otherwise they wouldn't do it.) I'm sure they're ridiculously expensive though.
But then they wouldn't cost 75k for a set of 4
There's pros and cons. I mean it is a small v12 car I can imagine it isn't all that heavy in the back so the traction and stability has to go somewhere 🤷🏻♂️ (for this car to be the size of a newer supra I mean cmon)
@@user-kd5cu7qf3f There are cons to every method but forging, that's accurate. It's ok, i don't expect everyone to know about metalcraft. If you have the option, always go forged. You will have less durability breakdown than other methods. Sure, there's a weight increase, but forged wheels are less likely to crack on holes and stuff in the road.
The reason it is stronger is you pound the metal down when it's hot (and a LOT less hot than it needs to be for melting and casting. this is less not fun for the workers). The layers of grain in it are more tightly-packed. Density equals strength and strength equals durability. Anvils and the tools used to work metal will always be forged. Unless the smith is trying to be cheap... but it's not that cheap to replace cast things multiple times compared to one life for a forged

For wheels milled from a single block of aluminum, you'd think they'd look better.
With today's technology I don't think there are any advantages from that. They gonna be more expensive and that's all
They look stunning. Completely match the exterior design language.

I’m happy I’m not the only one who drew a parallel to the Daytona.
Well, the designers did.
Georg Kacher 😍👌👌👌
George Kacher has been in the game of auto journalism long enough to have perspective and gravitas. The fact that Ferrari stuck with a NA V12 in this boosted/hybrid age is the point he was making. Lost on many people who commented.
I think he point about the 12 cylinders was that they are in the front, not the rear
Perhaps his comment was in reference to the amount of the engine that wasn't visible?
@@haroldjackman2010 that makes sense too 👍🏻
The important thing here is that the engine sits back in the car, behind the front axle, for better weight distribution. 51/49 I think.
