Very cool. Zyon is becoming a really great drummer. I can see his influence from Joe Nunez especially on album Totem. Each Soulfly album since Zyon joined you can hear and watch the improvement with each album. The dude gets better and better. Which leads me to recent kickass Soulfly album, TOTEM. His best drumming yet!The only thing missing from Totem is Rizzo. Yes the guitarists who were guests all killed it, and did wonderful even sounding at times like something Rizzo may have written. As a guitarist and bassist myself I usually would never feel this way but I almost feel Max allowed them to go a little too crazy with the leads/solos at times, but believe me no complaints overall. Trying to find something to criticize besides the album missing Rizzo ha. Totem is still a badass album that I absolutely love and is still getting a consistent rotation in play from me. I think everything guitar wise about “Filth Upon Filth” and “Spirit Animal” is gnarly. So point being I’m not sure a casual fan would even be able to notice Rizzo missing, but us diehard Soulfly and every other band Max is in fans most definitely notice. I hope nobody in Zyon’s camp are the ones creating accounts attacking Rizzo’s girlfriend. You dudes are all better than that. Yes we don’t all know the inside stories to everything, only being able to go off of what information gets shared with to us fans, but Zyon if you can find a way to get you and your dad on speaking terms with Rizzo would be the most badass respected thing ever. Leave the past let bygones be bygones. The best Soulfly albums are with Rizzo, and all the badass Cavalera Conspiracy albums. Rizzo was Max’s Randy Rhodes and we all hate not seeing him up there jamming with you, your dad, and Mike. Hopefully you guys can find a way to work things out with Marc eventually. Get him out of ill Nino and back with the Tribe where he belongs. Love Soulfly, Max the forever Riff Lord. God the most high…SOULFLY!!!!!! 🤘🎸🤘

I never thought about it, but he's dead right about that musical journey part. When I practice drums at home, I usually start off playing to Sepultura, Metallica, Celtic Frost... by the end of my practice I'm playing to ABBA and 70s funk/disco!
