Ted, how did you find this video? Thank you for posting! My father was aboard The Legend, a 50ft sloop in this race that year. The vessel ran aground and sunk off San Miguel island on the return trip, thankfully with no loss of life. Thank you for this window into what my dad must have experienced during the 1967 Transpac.

Wooden boats with iron men were replaced by fiberglass boats with kids. They were so young. Wow. That had to have been incredible.
Must have been quite the adventure.
