19 and a half years after Spongebob started, and no spin off was announced, yet three months after the creator dies, and a spin off is announced. That doesn't seem like a coincidence.
his comment about how shows usually don't get greenlit in 3 months makes me think that nick was already working on/pitching spinoffs with the knowledge that hillenberg would die soon. how morbid.
yeah, hillenberg didn't want any spinoffs made. Nickelodeon are very money hungry when it comes to cartoons, and they wanted extra money.
Nickelodeon is money hungry expect The Loud House to continue into the 2030's they probably planned that all the way back in season 5 but just pulled it out because then knew he was going to die there just milking it now just cancel it well if that happened The Loud House would air non-stop but making a spin off against the creators wishes after his death is just wrong
Loud House is pure cringe m8 if Spongebob was cancelled then Loud House would be milked to death

A similar situation happened to Butch Hartman and Fairy-Odd Parents. He wanted it to end for years, but Nick wouldn't let it go.
@@felixdacat4941 and look how that turned out
Nickelodeon didn’t ruin this show. They SOILED it. Stephen wanted to make a show that everyone all ages could enjoy, but one quote he said was: “Hopefully, if you watch SpongeBob, you see plankton and crabs and starfish - and you’ll want to take care of our oceans.” He made this show for everyone to discover marine-life is like everyone’s environment. And to help our ecosystem.

Hahaha yeah, that's kind of the way I see it too. I don't really like to count the episodes that came after.
Don't speak too soon. Nick might ruin that too
this. It just got weird after that
people think that the rest after it is a prequel, since he’s a lot dumber and stuff
__emojin__ that's a good way to think about it
The older episodes had sly references to adult themes, like existential dread, the mindlessness of 9-5 jobs, and suicidal ideation. The newer episodes don't have those themes. That's my biggest gripe about them.
Not all TV shows need adult references though. Especially if they’re going to be completely obvious.
One modern episode has a joke about Squidward trying to hang himself and it isn’t funny at all. There’s another one in which plankton wants to get run over and that one made that specific episode even worse
@@Murr248 I disagree. I like gallows humor relating to suicide and similar things, even if it's in poor taste. However, I prefer when the humor is subtle or hidden, rather than obvious.
@@Murr248 yah big difference, one part of the show new how to make adult jokes and the other doesn’t.
hehe wait until he hears ren and stimpy and rockos modern life are a thing
@@Murr248 The beauty of Spongebob in its infant days is that it was actually humorous and the show had flavor. Taking jabs at a wide range of jokes without missing a punchline with them. It tackled all types topics on top of that. As the series went on though, just like the Simpsons which also should’ve been put to rest years ago. They suffer from content fatigue. Spongebob now is just a shell of its former self being a cash grab for Nick.

Brianna Andreacci facts it’s could also work with Cartoon Network cuz they give new shows and voice actors a chance ex:Adventure Time, Amazing world of gumball
Maybe similar to Mark Hamill with Luke in TLJ.
the worst part is tom kenny could leave, but if he did, they would just simply replace him- leaving us with the same product and just a worse voice actor

Spongebob is the only thing keeping Nickelodeon alive. Loud House would have been a good successor but the show suffered a dip in quality and the creator got fired for sexual misconduct so Nickelodeon is in a dark place and with no hope of a decent future.

I didn’t even realize the show was this old. Modern simpsons and family guy are so bad and it should be proof that you can’t keep a show going for longer than 15 years, South Park apparently being the only exception.
South Park is kinda getting old to though ngl
Family Guy went downhill after the old seasons and also due to the Meg abuse, the offensive jokes and the decreasing amount of character development to most of the characters. As for the Simpsons, some of the stuff just became kinda boring.
Family guy is so bad it’s become a meme at this point
What about Pokemon? It's 25 years old and is still loved to this day.

Don't forget that Hillenburg would deny any crossovers with TV shows and Celebrities.
As soon as he left, they took the opportunity to bring celebrities in.
What about David Bowie though? In that Atlantis movie?
I dont think so because some celebs that are in Spongebob he was the producer at the time in some episodes like the Season 10 Episode 3 “Snooze You Lose” J.K. Simmons was on there and he was the producer at the time he came back to work on the show again, so he kinda wanted some celebs but at the same time no
What about David Hasselhoff?
Didn't the 2 movies produced by him have star cameos?
There is an instrumental from the metal band Pantera in the second season.

I always felt like Spongebob was ment to end at the first movie. I mean, Spongebob getting to be manager of the second Krusty Krab, finally being acknowledged as a man, let alone this big daring adventure with Patrick to save Bikini Bottom from Plankton all felt like the major climax to the show. But you know how Greed can get to people...
At this point I feel the first spongebob squarepants movie should have been the series finale. This idea is not mine and I dont take credit for it but I will relay it anyway. The series finale should involve these things. Squidward finally creates a masterpiece, and gets a contract playing alongside Kelpy G. Mr krabs has made so much money he decides to retire and hands over the krabby patty formula and the krusty krab ownership to plankton and shake hands calling eachother brothers. Patrick finally finds a job that he is not only good at but gets paid well. Sandy makes a scientific breakthrough that involves automated assistants and devices allowing citizens to communicate with their pets which benefits bikini bottom. Spongebob finally gets his boating license and decided to quit his job at the krusty krab to land a job at a higher rated restaurant and eventually runs into jim who helps spongebob get his foot into the restaurant he works at. After spongebob quits plankton uses the money to purchase automated workers from sandy that she had recently patented. Sandy gives gary her recently patented pet communicator which reveals gary as a prodigy and spongebob being an understanding person encourages gary to work alongside sandy. Mrs puff is cleared of all charges and all recent records are expunged. Mr krabs finally gives into Pearl's requests for her father to be less cheap and eventually their relationship strengthens. As finally the sun sets the french announcer makes one statement to say and there you have it in the end everyone achieved what they sought to have as well as more. Our friends that we have watched for so many years are finally complete and forever happy. Sniffle. I'm not crying you are. All the while the end credits theme is slowly playing as the sun sets one final time.
I WAS MENT TO
This is not bad but definitely shouldn't of been the ending

You know Scooby-Doo actually ended right? What Warner bros does with Scooby-Doo is every couple years they will make a reboot or continuation of Scooby-Doo then after making a new episodes for the new show it'll end and a few years later another Scooby-Doo cartoon will be made.
So you're saying Spongebob is gonna end and then Nickelodeon will start making reboots, continuations and other spin offs of the show?

@Lance Boyle
How so?
@Lance Boyle He should've known better about the industry he'll enter. :-(
Lance Boyle It may be his fault a bit, but it still doesn’t make any of Nicks decisions ethical or okay.
@Lance Boyle yes, because everyone writes down in their contract, "don't do something I wouldn't do". Yes _technically_ Nick is in their legal right to make Camp Spongebob. And no Steven did not write it in ink never to do it. But it was something he was vocal against, and then to near *immediately* announce a spinoff that the creator would've veto'd after his unfortunate death is downright scummy. To quote The Emperor's New Groove: "Well, he ain't getting any deader!"
@Lance Boyle it's not his fault. Seeing as if you know how a network operates. Even if Hillenburg were able to write down on paper what his wisher we're for the show, they would be veto'd after his death. Because that contract would be void and it would transfer spongebob over to Nick as the full owners. Not only that but you don't get that strong of a say in how a network will run your show. Seeing as they we're making plans to defy him even as he was alive.
Spongebob was my childhood show that I used to watch and love so much. So when Hillenburg passed away last year, it broke my heart into pieces. The fact that Nick goes out and does this makes my blood boil.

Spongebob doesn’t need spin-offs. What it needs is a final episode where:
1. Spongebob finally gets his drivers license
2. Squidward becomes a well beloved clarinet musician and gets a gig
3. Mr. Krabs goes into retirement and offers Plankton the secret formula
4. Plankton finally gives up on being evil and accepts Krabs’ offer, and runs the Krusty Krab himself.
5. Spongebob goes on to find himself a new job and start a new journey.
6. Everyone frolics in jellyfish fields one last time
And the narrator says “And this is where we leave, our underwater friends”.
