I grew up sailing and am always blown away by folks who begin the adventure with little or no experience! Gives Sink or Swim a whole new meaning. Kudos !
Hello from Germany. I was cruising the coast in 1981 and visited Hinchinbrook as well. I could go up a little river on the East side with my catamaran into perfect tranquility. Went up in the river to get fresh water. I wasn't the only boat and nobody mentioned crocs there. Frightening after seeing your video that we might have been wrong. By the way, you are the best narrator of the yacht-scene on UA-cam.
You two are perfect for one another. The adventures you take ,will be timeless memories. I so enjoy watching your content. Thanks again for sharing your journey.
I can't begin to tell you how much this episode made me laugh. Yer, the scenery was great, the mountains beaut and the beaches to die for. But for me it was the 'on-board' sceans that did it. The last 15 seconds is classic........thank you, David
Another great video Kristina and John, it just goes to show that those basic problems everyone faces like putting hair down your toilet affects everyone the same way, even if you are on land with 3 daughters with long hair, or a couple on a yacht 😀
Love the way that you personify the boat. Great video btw. Would never have known that such places exist without your videos. Always thought that the great barrier reef was only a reef.
☺️ I’m so glad! To be honest, we didn’t know they existed either!! So it’s wonderful to share the experience together 🥰 and yes, SAME… I knew the reef park was made up of a HUGE amount of islands… but not quite like this and covered in lush forest!
laughing .... like where at 6:21 you say "Have to be careful you don't get sucked out" and you have the waterfalls going backwards ... gotta say not too excited about the idea of having hungry crocs around .. yikes ... you sure captured some fantastic scenery .. thx for sharing a peek into your adventure .... as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ...
👏👏 it was on my bucket list too, but I haven’t crossed it off yet, because I already want to go back! 😅 You won’t regret it if you can make it out there 🙏 it’s a hike, but worth it! Cheers for watching Harold ☺️
☺️ I guess it was worth getting stuck on Tucana for that hour waiting for the swell to subside! Pretty sure we went through a couple of drone batteries 🤣 #worthit
Paper and hair in toilets always gives problems after a while on small yachts. Pumps and pipes are approx. one inch on these yachts. On bigger boats we "almost" never have this problem, they use bigger diameter pipes and pumps. btw. nice video this one, especially that romantic swim the two of you had on top of the rocks down there. lots of love 😏 from the Netherlands.
Great episode. It had been a while since the last video, so I started to worry for you both. So happy to see everything is going well and you're still having fun!
I can’t believe it’s been 6 months since you started this adventure. Time does fly when you are having fun it seems! Great episode and the timing for me was impeccable, as I had to wait 30 minutes for laptop to install updates and reboot before I could do any work today! That waterfall looked amazing! Hoping John was able to get toilet fixed!
Cheers Brian! Sorry it's been a few weeks between episodes! Life's been a little crazy of late!!! Can't wait to share more with you soon. Aghhhh! Exciting times
Hi guys I have been enjoying your travels . To the macerator toilet I use the same unit in an offroad caravan coupled to a installed black tank. These toilets are really sensitive to the type toilet paper used I only use the correct paper to avoid blockages, on the rear of the motor there is screw driver slot the can be used to free up a jam. It is really not a hard job to remove the motor/ macerator, this section can be purchased independently for $275 - $350 depending on the age of your unit the manufacturer changed the hose barb discharge position slightly in later replacement units. safe travels.
You guys need a flopper stopper to damp the motion of your boat when in those rolly conditions... There are various commercial ones or you can find designs for homemade ones as well.
That was one cool vlog! Except for the bit at the end. That bit, was a tad 5h1tty! 🙂Those drone shots were awesome. Thank you for all that effort, and the editing of course. Makes for a good afternoon tea watch. Had a good laugh.
This makes me smile! Thank you too Adrian for watching. The effort is worth it when I read comments like yours! 🥰Haha, and yes, there were definitely some 5h1tty moments 🤣🤣 But who’s complaining, right? 🙈
I enjoy your transparency and honesty thank you. Please avoid becoming the “know it all” channel that seems to be so tempting to some. People are interested and identify with the “real deal;” we are interested who you are as you are sailing, off on adventure’s, and yes John “boat project”too. But no need for a play by play that can dominate the time and leaves out time to know who you and John are in the process. You guys are doing an amazing job thanks….. :)
I love this Scott, thanks so much for helping us steer this experience! Would love to know if you have any specific questions you’d love for us to answer in some upcoming episodes ☺️ How we got to this point? Our careers? Where we grew up etc? Let us know ❤️
Uuhh I need one of those mosquito suits as well, they look so comfy also I am the only one in my family they attack so it would be amazing to not get bitten and have little bumps on my body from them. Another great video you guys, love the nature and that sugar place looks neat as well... Hugs from Croatia!!!
I’m the same as you!!! I always get eaten first. We must have sweet blood 😉 I got my little suit from Thailand on a family holiday a couple of years ago! It’s 100% cotton and I think it was about $5 euro would you believe. It’s not ACTUALLY a mosquito suit, John just calls it that 🤣 He also calls it my Bee suit 🐝🛖🍯! Haha 😂
Nice video1👍 Do you take an epirb & flares with you on your remote hiking trails? Don't put anything in the toilet other than #1 & #2!! Good call on removing your inflatable dinghy from the water! There's a trailer sailer channel from melb who is up the north west Australia and his dinghy has a dozen croc bite holes! Its all patched up but still has to inflate it every day!
Head for the Bahamas and Parlay / Vagabond may have to up their game ❤️ Easy top 3 🏆 A quandary I’d be interested to hear deliberated... At the 12 month mark - will you be able to stomach city life again 🤔
@@KristinasTravels Man, it pops up regularly as a UA-cam ad for me before videos begin.. I’m already an account holder so they should go target someone else 🤣🤣 Praise the lord I finally seem to have stopped getting GoPro10 ads every 3 minutes. That went for months! Yeah audio is 👌🏻
Ha ha,welcome to boating. My mantra is - if you didn't eat it, it doesn't go down the toilet, INCLUDING PAPER. I tell every guest, I don't mind unclogging your mess, but I am using your toothbrush to do it!!! Funny..... havn't had any clogs since then.
Just curious to know: How can sailors leave their boats unattended on a remote area in order to explore inside the land. Isn't there any risk for the boat being hijacked?
Yeh… I guess there is…. But you’d have to somehow sail off with the boat.. and hope that you’re not caught down the track as there’s AIS on the boat… unless they switched that off.. but then the boat is registered too 🙂
Why can't Kristina throw her hairbrush hair over the side? Surely its biodegradable? That's a good lesson learned, only flush what comes out the human body naturally.
Im addicted to your channel! I watch y’all when I should be doing my own work haahaa😊

Likewise, I know enough about sailing to know I don't know enough about sailing.

It's a brave man who pulls apart a toilet in a white t-shirt. LOL. Another entertaining episode. 👍
Hahaha!! Oh that’s very funny! 😆😆
Amazing waterfall! Brilliant video.

👩❤️👨 Thank you!! We try and keep the fun moments and the ‘real’ moments too. We’re perfect for one another 97% of the time… 😉
That's exactly why I have a simple Groco manual pump head on my boat. Good luck with it.
You two amaze us seeing you do it yourself projects are a must on most yachts thanks for a very interesting video 👍😀👍
Thank you so much Patricia for your kind words and support! Can't wait to share with you whats next for us, on this weekend's episode on Sunday 😀 x
Hello Kristen and John, first time watching and enjoyed. Scenery delightful and I'll keep on watching, thank you and catch you next time.

Haven’t been to Hinchinbrook island but driven past it a couple of times yep you certainly described it correctly “Jurassic “

Yes, we always take our mini EPIRB and 2-way radio with us, but not flares. That’s crazy about the croc/tender incident!!! Glad we didn’t chance it 🐊🐊

No we don’t put toilet paper down the toilet either! I’d feel terrible putting bleached paper into the ocean!
You can take your tender into the river at the south end of the bay.
