- In this episode, I ride from Jassan, at the border of Iraq and Iran, to Iraq's capital city Baghdad. Here I meet up with Aya, who I already met in Kurdistan, and she shows me around Baghdad. If I watch the news, I’m afraid to leave my house. When I watch Noraly I feel I could go anywhere in the world. You’ve shown us that no matter where you go , for the most part people are kind and generous.
That's the truth
Let's face it the media don't tell us anything about everyday life anywhere, it's not a story is it?
@elsololobo1091 Sounds and looks great, comparing to what Hollywood depicted....................."Thieves of Bagdad"
State's control their people through fear and propaganda, through tools like the Mainstream Indoctrination Media (MIM), which trains the masses' brains to hate other cultures.
Once you learn this, you practise free will, love and respect for others.
The media doesn't tell THE story , they tell A story 👌
Seeing Baghdad bustling and thriving makes me happy for the Iraqi people. Great guide!
Being from Holland helps
@@lesliepropheter5040 Always.
It certainly seems more friendly, approachable and warmer than Iran, that’s for sure. Good to see.
@@kenpickett9317 🙄 I guess u didn't watch Noraly's travels around Iran in d 1st season which're among her best travelogues until now. She didn't travel beyond d border town in Iran this season & even that was pretty good. Iran is beautiful & Iranians like Iraqis r among d most friendly, approachable & warm people in d world. Lot's of love & support from India 2 Iran, Iraq & d whole region ruined by wars, invasions & sanctions...hope they recover & regain their historical glory 🙏
@@NayanJB Yes, it’s an incredible place. You should go and live there straightaway instead of spewing platitudes. 🙄
I love how she shows the softer side of these countries that the media all make us fear and in reality they are people too just like us. Great video Ms Boots.
🇮🇶Iraq was subjected to the largest smear campaign in the media. But in reality, Iraq seems beautiful. The war in Iraq ended in 2017 and life became prosperous. A lot of development and urbanization is happening now in Iraq
Us and them
and in the end
we’re only ordinary men…
The Media have an Agenda so they turbo charge a minor issue
It is not the people you have to fear, most of the time it is the politic to fear.
@@M7EL2 Propaganda is the worst thing to happen to people.

֍ An alert viewer of S8EP23 shared the Kurdish Hamilton Highway builder story. I then found and read the New Zealander Milne Hamilton civil engineer's history/biography book he wrote Titled "Road Through Kurdistan". Many media presentations of Hamilton have been made reverberating the truth Hamilton experienced while living in the region. The Media does show. Strange the Ostrich Shoenmaker drove past in Namibia seen to be all over the world.
@@Alwina-Su it’s not up to the media to show you the world. People like Noraly are doing a wonderful job. I wish a beautiful country like Yemen wasn’t in turmoil. Peace!!
This is totally correct. But it's also very hard to leave your comfort zone. Stop watching the news though.
LOL yet there are parts she cant go so whats your point
Thank you, itchy boots, for showing Iraq in a positive light. Many foreigners think that the war is still ongoing in Iraq, but in reality the war ended in 2017 and Iraq is in a state of continuous development. Iraq is a multi-religious country and has many Yazidis, Christians and Muslims. I agree with you, checkpoints are annoying for foreigners. But the government is working to reduce checkpoints and tourism in Iraq increased in 2023. Thank you. I hope you have a successful trip. 🇮🇶❤
2017 ? Then the Abraham accords were signed in 2020.. Hopefully the new ceo of the states can get that momentum back, and get the Ayatollahs sacked.. Peace to you and the Middle East 🎉
Its nice to see Iraq standing up like it does. Hope the best for the country and its people in the future.

This is so true - most media attention has been diverted elsewhere when things calmed down in Iraq, so it is great to see this other, more positive, side. I wish the Iraqis all the best in continuing to rebuild and develop their country.
So much history I would love to travel to this country ❤❤❤

Can we all take a minute to appreciate this woman! Her respect and love for all cultures and religions are amazing! Who occasionally squabble over things than can be resolved quite easily…or in a civilised court of law. If we would be mature enough!
@Sujowi if only...
This is so true. Political leaders, corruption and religious extremism mess it up for everyone. Average people just want health and happiness for their loved ones.
yes, good and bad in everyone everywhere.
I was thinking the same thing. I remember being there during the war. I was in the US Army. Even then all I could think about was, what a waste of life. I wish I could change things.
I hope nothing else comes up to disturb the people of Iraq. Their culture and the goodness of their heart is amazing!
Yup.. Like what they did before.. Devide and conquer.. They made Saddam era looks bad.. Same goes to Libya
I like that the people of baghdad keep their city clean, almost no trash lying around on the streets - beautiful city.

It blows away any stereotypes and their friendliness is obvious. These are wonderful people living in an amazing culture and thanks to Noraly for taking us right into the heart of it all.

This is indeed what the media doesn't show us... The old centre looks great, and happy to see people renovating the old buildings and make it stand out in it's old glory. Also nice to see the old craftmanship still exists. And Aya is a great person. Safe travels and have lots of fun!
Aya is such a polite and kind person, I’m the way she talked to the elderly gentlemen at the old shops! May God bless her soul
Your videos are not only entertaining and educational but therapeutic, too. Love you, Noraly.
I love the meditating zen-like musical interludes with progress on the motorcycle through left and right bends over varied landscapes.

wow a ducati back then was a really special bike!

I enjoy traveling the world with Noraly. Makes us see the beautiful side of countries that is usually not shown on mainstream media
the artistry of the copper shop is mind blowing
As an American, I appreciate seeing and learning Noraly's experience in Baghdad! She is right, this is a view not shown to us. That shop with the Iraqi made and Indian made brass (?), and maybe copper, what a dream of a shop! And so funny, how people everywhere want something from somewhere else.
As a hobby Brass smith watching the men hammer out the sheets is amazing. I was taught by an old Persian man to work on trumpets and any other brass horn. He had left Iran before the fall of the Shah. To take a battered horn and spend a few hours tapping, prying and rubbing to look almost new again is a craft.
Noraly demonstrates that where ever you go in the world the vast majority of people are friendly and just want to get on with their lives. What we get from media is pure propaganda. Thanks Aya and Noraly for showing us the real Bagdad.
Yes , absolutely, politic broke everything …
Noraly has probably become one of the best and most effective educators we can find - on the Internet or even in schools. Reducing ignorance about the world and inspiring people to get out there.

Wow, great to see you exploring Baghdad!
Baghdad was once the spiritual capital of the Islamic world, home to some of history's most influential mystics and scholars: Dawud al-Tai, Maruf al-Karkhi, Al-Sari al-Saqati, Al-Junayd al-Baghdadi, Mansur Al-Hallaj, and the renowned Abdul-Qadir Gilani. Even major Islamic scholars like Abu Hanifa and Ahmad ibn Hanbal are buried there. The city is dotted with their beautiful shrines and tombs - would love to see you visit some of these spiritual places in your next videos! 🌟
I wish I could visit Baghdad one day. 🙏🏼
Wow, great tour of a city with so much history and still thriving by the look of it. Our oldest city in Canada is about 500+ years old. Baghdad laughs at that number while reclining majestically on a couch thousands of years in the making.
My uncle worked in Iraq in the '70s, and he told me stories about that period and about the Iraqi people and culture.
I'm 44 and I never saw the beauty of that country and people in the media, that's an example of what is going on with them here.
Cheers from Italy!
Iran and Iraq were the most modern of modern societies until religion ran amuck.
@vp4744 of course is the religion… and z i o n i s m usa came to bring democracy 😂
Unfortunately, my friend, some of Iraq's corrupt sons who took power after the fall of the monarchy until now have destroyed it, led it into devastating wars, and betrayed the trust. The people are still subject to religious colonialism.
You cannot trust the media or the information you are often fed. When you actually travel to countries around the world you realise that people are people. Riding a motorbike is great. I came to it late on in life. Bought my first 'real' bike (not a scooter/moped) 4 years ago and have changed a few times. I have around 50000km in South East Asia. It is a wonderful way to experience the outdoors and meet the people - a completely different journey experience than if I was driving my car. It provides a great sense of freedom as well as being an amazing way to not only declutter your thoughts but also focus on living in the now. I wish you many more miles.
Wonderful to see the local craftsmen plying their trade that, one can imagine, has been passed down through many generations. Beautiful tour of Baghdad.

This Baghdad episode is one the very best ever. This is great documentary style story telling. A fabulous city and great people! Thank you Noraly for a great experience.
Bagdad is a clash of modern day amenities and old world ways. It struck me that Bagdad suffers smog/air quality issues. It was most apparent while being on the Ferris Wheel.
Noraly is the anomaly that brings out the best in people. As an American male, I had once wanted to travel the Middle East on moto and see the great wonders of religious history all around the Mediterranean.
Today, at 70years, I get to do this with Noraly, no better tour guide. She takes the uncommon road and seeks places I as an American male could never travel to. For this, I'm a fan of her travels and wish the best of all outcomes.
Nourali, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have shown my beautiful country. I hope that you visit the museums in Baghdad and many different places. Many talk about the veil of women in Baghdad. There are many religions such as Muslims, Christians, Kurds, Sabeans, and Yazidis. Baghdad is a free place. Wearing the veil is not mandatory. I hope that Nourali visits Al-Mansour and other places such as Al-Harithiya and visits the churches in Baghdad, the Church of Mary, so that the world knows that we in Baghdad are fanatical Sunnis. It is a free country. There are 500 churches in Baghdad, and the best church is the Church of the Virgin Mary in Al-Karrada.❤

I loved seeing all the preparing of food, the craftsmanship that she saw locally. I hope China products don't make the artist/craftmanship of the locals-stop! Beautiful products. The people are so kind. This share was wonderful to watch
As a young man in the American navy We were at the Suez Canal area went in with the supply boat . While waiting for cargo the weather went bad and we were stuck ashore for 3 days. A group of fisherman took us in and protected our boat from thieves. We help fix fishing nets, engines and just cleaning. Great people.
Seems so, yet even to ozzies, they feed us fear and speak how bad these people and put our soldier's to war with them.
How wrong it all seems as Baghdad people are beautiful, talented, and their country amazing 🥰🙏🙌💖
Those are the great stories one can enjoy as a human being. Also having had the pleasure/chance to travel all around the world and meet different people and cultures, it's a blessing.
I lived in Cairo in the 90s for 3 years; I miss the warmth, friendliness and hospitality of the Egyptian people
My husband was with the US forces in Baghdad in 2003-2004. He worked with Iraqi's to rebuild the wall at the Baghdad airport. They all got along quite well, and he thinks of them often. He truly enjoyed seeing the city again in a much more positive light. We hope to visit there some day in the future. Thanks for your tour!
Will you be paying reparations for the destruction your country caused?
@h.b.7104 this person left a positive comment; you made a personal and direct derogatory comment.
No need for that!
@@h.b.7104 Going and spending money and making good relationships with the people is enough from a citizen.
His unit worked with Iraqi citizens to rebuild. The Iraqi's he worked with were very kind and incredibly thankful for the U.S. soldiers. I am sure their opinions are not shared by the whole country but the folks my husband encountered were grateful. I certainly don't wish to argue about the war, everyone has their opinions and that's fine. We are just happy to see what appears to be a thriving city filled with lovely people. @h.b.7104

Why lie? What was destroyed there? What cities?
As westerners we tend to think ooh Iraq who would want to go there?, and yet again Noraly you have opened ours eyes as to what a truly fascinating and friendly country it really is, and without a dictator all the inhabitants of all religions seem to live in peaceful harmony. Love this channel xx
Mohammed, what a legend! Thank you Mohammed. So glad Frankie is securely tucked in. So interesting and nice to see Baghdad now, after what MSM shows/ tells us. What beautiful architecture! Thank you Aya for a wonderful tour of your city! 😀 Safe travels and looking forward to more Iraq.
Iraq is one of the first civilizations that used bricks and tiles, which added much to architecture all over the world.
@@neilmckechnie6638I studied Islamic Art in university and I was in awe of the architecture, and the beautiful tiles and colours. Truly stunning!
I wish nothing but a beautiful future for Iraq and her people.
My salute to Ayasaleh for a very matter of fact introduction to Iraqi artefacts and the contemporary history behind the evolving architecture…. Noraly brings out the best out of places and people.
🙏.
Hoping for peace theoughout the middle east, they've been through so much. Their strength of spirit is just amazing.
Thanks for sharing this reality Noraly
Thanks for sharing it's a beautiful country
Oh I absolutely loved this video. Love knowing about these great people. I am amazed about this country. I do believe that most everyone in Iran and Iraq knows about “this lovely adventurous lady is showing the world that not everyone is a terrorists”! Thank you for taking my wife and I in this adventure with you!❤❤❤❤❤
This lady was in Iran five years ago and everyone knows the thousands of years of history of Persia and modern Iran.
Absolutely brilliant ,The Holy city was amazing,Great to see the kind caring people you meet really upbeat and positive, well done .
Itchy boots notification, stops doing everything and enjoys another fantastic adventure! Thank you!❤
It's beautiful
Brought back a lot of memories. I spent over a year there in 2007-2009. Such a beautiful city that has been the site of such violence.
You find nice people all over the world. This is a huge takeaway from your videos. Wish you safe travels wherever Frankie may take you. Greetings from Germany!
I love the way everybody is welcoming to give a tour of all the places you go past. Random wander inside a building, demonstrations of kitchens and food preparation, everything that usually goes on unseen in the background.
Thank you, Noraly, for giving us a look at so many places & people that most of us would never encounter!
Is so beautifull to see Iraq with people on peace, God bless you and your friend, good way
Noraly has shown us from Time to time the real people irrespective of the country ❤ people at large are good & want peace above all thanks noraly for being a beacon of light in an overall gloom world ❤❤❤
Did you not know that?
@@kaizen2049 did you mean to say "time and time again" because "from time to time" means just occasionally
She is a great role model, incredible personality 👏 ❤️
Amazing insight into a beautiful culture.
Great that Aya was guiding you around! Hopefully people will start realizing not to believe everything the media shows.
Happy to see the Iraqi people enjoying and being hospitable as always.
I visited Afghanistan in 2011.We were welcomed with open arms…. Felt very safe. Now , I would not… only on principle, as women’s rights have totally eroded. They even now have to cover kitchen windows so as not to be seen at all. They are not to speak to each other in the streets either.
@@feather1950well it's Iraq not Afghanistan!
What an amazing view of Iraq! So happy that I’ve learned so much about places I’ll never be able to visit. Noraly, thank you for always showing the best side of humanity.
