    Nice job on the excel spreadsheet. It shows how much more skilled and fast your generation are when you’re learning this from an early age.

      @@CourtneyJonesFinancial sorry for the silly question but what does the 1000 per month in the budget column represent?

    • @CourtneyJonesFinancial
      @CourtneyJonesFinancial  27 днів тому

      @@Deauxpe no such thing as a silly question. This is my 'target' saving amount, so just shows if I were to save £1000 a month I would end the year at around £23k.
      I just give a guide to show that this is what I should be achieving in an ideal world. I can then track what I actually save against this over the course of the year. 👍

    As someone older than you I think I'd increase the fun pot slightly and reduce the savings target slightly. I always had a savings plan a bit like yours and now I'm older my regret is not spending a bit more on "fun" when I was younger and in my prime . Had I done so I'd have a bit less in savings, obviously, but perhaps have had more pleasure and more good memories. Probably I was a bit too risk averse and a bit too over generous on the financial safety net. Interesting video. 👍

    • @CourtneyJonesFinancial
      @CourtneyJonesFinancial  27 днів тому +1

      @@friendlyhorseuk7220 a great insight, it's always tough to find the right balance.
      Over the course of the year you'll see that, like 2024, I intend to deviate from this in some months. This can be for things like holidays and weekend trips etc.
      I don't put these just in the 'fun' section but will now put them in a column as planned expenses.
      This just leaves the fun section for spontaneous meals out and bits like that.
      Appreciate you reaching out to share your views 🙏

    Pretty much exactly what I bring in between my two jobs.
    Really thought I'd be comfortable on this amount....doesnt feel it.

    • @CourtneyJonesFinancial
      @CourtneyJonesFinancial  27 днів тому +2

      @@mrmeldrew693 it is amazing how much can be eaten away so quickly.
      It's why I want to highlight budgeting and why prioritise planning my money. When I was younger I thought I'd be set on this wage but it definitely isn't the case.
      Don't get me wrong, it's a good salary and I am fortunate. But I do need to manage what I spend, and this is something that is never taught.

      @CourtneyJonesFinancial  23 дні тому +1

      @@m93i a van is like a cheat code 😅 you can save so much money being able to do odd jobs yourself without needing to rent one. It costs the same as running a car too so it just ends up being a car with a massive boot!

    3 questions:
    How much annual leave do you get?
    And to be clear with the following question I’m not judging just wondering: why only £50 monthly into T212 this seems very low to me. I think with the power of compounding, if you can afford to hold long term, is invaluable. How come you don’t utilise the ISA allowance more than you do now?
    Do you use a SIPP as well as a work place pension or is that £500 entirely your WP pension?
    I have seen a few of your videos but also missed a fair few so apologies if these are topics you’ve already addressed 👌🏻thanks for providing this content

    • @CourtneyJonesFinancial
      @CourtneyJonesFinancial  25 днів тому

      @@xWiIIyGz firstly, no need to apologise for your questions.
      1. I get 25 days standard plus the option to purchase 5 more.
      2. £50 is my base investment amount. As mentioned I am currently investing in property in Europe, so most of my savings go here. Once this is complete I will look to invest all the build money into ISA and investment accounts.
      The pension is a salary sacrifice. So I pay 10% and my employer matches 8%. So an overall contribution of 18%.
      All great questions, appreciate the comment 🙏
