- Before practice on Wednesday afternoon, Bears quarterback Caleb Williams spoke to the media. Williams talked about what he thought about his Week 1 performance against the Titans. He also talked about how he will adjust without Rome Odunze and possibly without Keenan Allen. Later, Williams talks about how he is comparing himself against the rest of the NFL and what he expects to see from he Texans’ defense

If you knew you could hear clearly in his points about being on the same page, little things all this stuff, and saying many great vets had a.bad 1st game. He knows he did decent for what it was his o-line getting blown up, dropped passes and a few mistakes

I'm a Texans fan and I was pretty impressed with how he played from his first game to this game. Hès very competitive and the line needs to help also. But compared to some new quarterbacks I think he's improving.

Establish the run and use your TE’s as your security blanket. The OLine didn’t do a good job in run/pass protection, but Waldron has to keep calling running plays to keep them honest.

Should’ve kept fields for one more year rather he played good or not and let Caleb sit to see what fields did with this current roster
I pointed out at game time his footwork looked different. In practice his footwork is nearly perfect. His footwork was great in preseason. But in the game it looked loose, too wide stances, and heel clicky throws. Those things affect accuracy which might be why he missed throws he normally makes. So really he just needs to make sure his foot work stays the same from practice to game. Do that, and I bet he looks really good.

As a mental health counselor, what I really appreciate about Caleb and the coaching staff is that they have a growth mindset and they stay the course, focusing on being in the moment and improvement. This emphasis on comparison to others that members of the media routinely brings up is a waste of mental energy and a distraction.... Go Bears!

Sounds like he was humbled, to which I'm glad because he can be centered and learn from this and be less Cocky and more confident along with humility.

It's hard to believe this is the kind of person he is after all of the rumors about his character pre draft.

Caleb’s still dialing in his NFL game. Literally every rookie (especially QBs) have to do it. The speed of the game jumps dramatically from college to NFL. Just think of how many college football players there are across the entire country. A small fraction of only the best of the best make it to the NFL, and only a select few of THOSE players are starting every week. Caleb’s elite and will figure it out. But the Bears desperately need to address the issue at center and right guard. Coleman Shelton and Nate Davis ain’t cutting it. The Titans d-line is good, but they’re not THAT good. They looked like Hall of Fame pass rushers versus the interior of the Bears o-line.

Too much hype around Caleb in his rookie year. In the last 30 yrs there been only 2 generational type players, that is Tom Brady & Patrick Mahomes. A lot more player gonna get injured because he wanna be a home run player on every down. That means there will be so many turnovers that he will be inconsistent. It looks like he's strambling is the pocket also. Footwork need a lot of work, and he gotta keep his head up when the rush is coming at him. Don't just pull it down and just throw the ball up. He did that like 7 times in the game Sunday

It's ONLY his second start in the NFL... We need to give him some time to learn this league. A good offensive line might help. Then he wouldn't be running for HIS LIFE on nearly every pass play. Hats off to the Defense... They were Awesome considering they were out on the field for so much time!!!

Think he needed to be humbled a bit this is the mans league now. Just keep getting better and more reps. Media did him no favors hyping him up like they did either. So expectations were extremely exaggerated. Sunday will see what he’s made of for a bounce back. Mentally seems fine now just put it together on field.

1) Caleb did not lose the game, but certainly did little to contribute to winning either.
2) To lead the team, your play has to contribute significantly and under 100 yards passing and missing multiple open big plays will not cut it.
3) That O-line play regressed from last year, very disappointing, especially skipping a OL in the 4th round last draft for a punter!
With Caleb throwing 0 interceptions he really was just a couple more of those passes being completions away from a great game
