If I am not mistaken, they only pay for the kids housing and travels during the tournament while the parents and team pays for most of the expenses during their normal games trying to get to Williamsport. The final tournament are run by volunteers both the people setting up the fields and the umpires. If I read it correctly, LL organization also subsidized the foreign team expenses too.
Maybe it’s just me but these kid from Hawaii have some of the most advanced hitting approaches, pitch recognition, and swings I’ve ever seen on 11-12 year olds some of them look like they’re 14-15 the way they handle the bat it’s incredible
Here is the truth. I live in Hawaii and I think the team y'all are watching is amazing, one of kind, the best around. Hawaii is not older, and there isn't any cheating taking place. Yes it's obvious the Hawaiian boys are bigger, faster and stronger than just about every mainland team in the LLWS and will win it all. Yes the weather is 80 degrees here and we play ball year round, so repetitions make a big difference. Everyone needs to understand you are watching an all county team from Oahu (Honolulu County, pop 1 milion), recruited and scouted through the hundreds of 50/70 club teams on the island of Oahu. It is like a 6A school competing with 1A or 2A schools. That is part of the reason why you are seeing 14 athletes that on average are taller, stronger, and weigh more than every other small town All-Star team in the country. Hawaii has always had a highly skilled team, and when the 2018 LL All-Star eligibility rule changed, Hawaii ran with it and became stronger. If you go to school in the city of Honolulu, you are eligible for the team you are watching, doesn't matter where you live on the island of Oahu, (pop 1 Million). While everyone was couped up for nearly 18 months on the mainland because of COVID, kids in Hawaii were in the sun having fun on the diamond. Most of these boys played 50/70 when they were 10 and 11 which challenged them and enhanced their speed and arm strength. Everything can be seen on game changer, and gradually a team was formed with kids that may live in Honolulu, or may live elsewhere on the island, and go to private school in the league boundaries. If they don't meet that requirement, then a letter from their town LL president allows for a boundary waiver. I'm willing to bet most of the other teams from the USA do not take it to that level because every town wants their own LL All-Star team and their own thing so they can coach their son and try to advance to Williamsport. You can tell Massapequa, NY does not have the best players from all of Long Island, NY. They may have the best team from that area, but they had some close games in their district and state tournaments because every town wanted their All-Stars. Meanwhile, Honolulu basically overpowered every other team from Hawaii. Their closest game was against Kauai (8-3). The current team manager of Hawaii has coached the team since 2018. I don't think he has a kid on the team, and neither do the other 2 coaches. This is his 3rd trip to the world series. If you saw the other LL All- Star teams in Hawaii, most of the teams from Oahu would look like the mainland teams in the LL world series as far as skill, talent, size, and athleticism. The games would be a lot closer, but our teams from the islands of Kauai, Maui, and The Big Island would probably be a tough match, similar to Honolulu. So for the small town dads that want their 15 minutes of fame and the chance to make their kid's dream come true, that can happen, and they may get to Williamsport, but once they face Hawaii, sorry it's lights out.
It doesn't make sense to make the player pool the entire city of Honolulu. The town I grew up in had a population of 45,000 people and had two separate all-star teams.
Hawaii has 5 Districts. The Honolulu District runs from Kalihi to Hawaii Kai, population of about 350,000. By comparison, California has 72 Districts, and total population of around 40 million. That means *on average*, Cal. Districts have over 500,000 population per District. So no, Honolulu does not have some type of unfair advantage. At least, not when playing in the West Regionals.

The only way your going to beat Hawaii is with high and away fastballs, and mixing in the breaking ball on the outside of the plate. Go watch the 1st 3 innings against Washington in their last game… you can not throw fastballs inside. They have to much talent/power and they are aggressive. The only time I would call a pitch inside would be a change up down & in… And again working in that high inside fastball above the zone… Rarely should you call an inside fastball on these kids to try & lock them up, because as you see, those kids were turning on everything. & I know kids don’t hit there spots 100% of the time. This is a ⚾ World Series ‼️ International teams from all over the world 🌍 competing. Why MLB ⚾ calls their championship 🏆 series "World series" is baffling 😵💫....Only USA MLB ⚾ is represented. No other international major league is represented.
What possible reason would it be if one team gets sick and gets players on the other teams sick, and they cancel the whole LLWS? I doubt you're a crazed liberal, but someone trying to bring politics into the game and blame it on Liberals when it's not political. A real liberal would think of others, not only themselves.
These kids from Hawaii look a lot older then the NY kids. Kids from NY look like babies next to these kids. You can see it in the athletic difference. I mean it’s ridiculous to watch. Half the Hawaii team got mustaches!
It goes in cycles… other teams in the past have sported big kids at 12 but as a whole, 12U baseball is at a higher level. These kids play year round and hopefully don’t burnout before high school
I thought the same on many other teams, not just Hawaii. I also think some of these kids look like babies, oh and the kids with long hair, they look like girls. YES I THINK WE SHOULD CHECK ALL THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATES. If Hawaii was not doing well you would not even care, would you!
I guess it’s just hawaii huh? Everyone grows at the same rate, has nothing to do with genetics and No other teams have big 12 year olds that could pass as older. Way to be passive aggressive, you really want to say you think they are cheating.
I hate to be that guy but there's no way this hawaii team isn't cheating in some shape or form. I grew up in the Vegas area and this team is better than if we had put the best 12 kids from the metro area on the same team, and our population is bigger than the whole state of Hawaii.
Good coaching and discipline is what make you great. The determination to learn and get good at it. My grandson plays baseball and these kids work their asses off. Practice after school and more practice throwing ball and catching at home on no practice days. Determination to be good.
@@hokulani92 Completely agree. I see a serious lack of discipline and work ethic from these New York kids. I think kids today don't work as hard as they used to. Kids in my day used to have strong competitors to look up to like the Bad Boy Pistons. Nowadays they have LeCryBaby whining about racism and calling crying to Chairman Xi Jinping. In my opinion it started with that damn Kaepernick guy disrespecting our troops. Kids need to have a good moral and strong idol like the Bad Boy Pistons or someone God fearing like Drew Brees.
So Hawaii has a kid that played in last years LLWS and this one? I call BS on that. That is literally impossible. This was a very tough matchup for New York. Hawaiian players get to play year round because of the weather, big advantage compared to NY.
Then Hawaii should win every year right
@@traderlope1164 Yes they should.
@Ryker Jett Tell me where I’m wrong.
Hawaii honestly looks unbeatable. The only teams that even have a chance are Texas and Tennessee
That Hawaii team looks older then their competition. Huge athletic difference that comes with age. It’s obvious when you watch them. Something not legit. I stand by my statement
@@INKDnARMD get a grip
@@INKDnARMD Completely Agree with you
dude Hawaii is stacked
Hawaii is winning the U.S maybe the whole thing
Hawaii es una colonia gringa... no es un país... porque participa???
This is a ⚾ World Series ‼️ International teams from all over the world 🌍 competing. Why MLB ⚾ calls their championship 🏆 series "World series" is baffling 😵💫....Only USA MLB ⚾ is represented. No other international major league is represented.
But...the USA is guaranteed a spot in the finals while the rest of the world weeds itself out. That is not fair.
@@mikephalen3162 agree 💯 👍
@@mikephalen3162 I agree. It’s time to get rid of the US bracket
It’s going to be Indiana vs. Hawaii in the US championship. But Hawaii will still cruise past the US teams.
texas or new york
Sorry, to burst your bubble. New York lost to a 10 run rule.
I’m saying it now it’s gonna be Hawaii or Tennessee coming out on top
What possible reason could parents have to make their kids wear a mask during this. Insane. And I’m a crazed liberal from portland.
Easier to hit homers. His mother is a Hospice Physician, maybe she knows a few things...
Why does it matter to you or anyone else? It’s not your call or your business…stay in your own lane!
Guess you didn’t know, their manager got Covid and is out for at least 5 days.
They're over the actual age limit to be in this
Polynesian are built Different
It goes in cycles… other teams in the past have sported big kids at 12 but as a whole, 12U baseball is at a higher level. These kids play year round and hopefully don’t burnout before high school
Payanal is on roids
calling it. Hawaii vs TN, Nolensville if they are on opposite brackets.
808!!!
No one can beat Hawaii
@Lyle Van Dyke you must have gotten cut from your little league team :O
@Lyle Van Dyke But not the Angels
I kind of feel sad that the Hawaii kids think they have to wear those chin diapers when they play.
Hawaii is the clear favorite to win
Lots of these comments are RACIST, SO SAD. America at its best. Get a life people, we all live on the same planet
I’d be checking Hawaii’s birth certificates!! Some of those kids look like there 13-14! Pearland (Texas) will give them a run for their money!
Hater, every team goes through the same verification process…
I guess it’s just hawaii huh? Everyone grows at the same rate, has nothing to do with genetics and No other teams have big 12 year olds that could pass as older. Way to be passive aggressive, you really want to say you think they are cheating.
I hate to be that guy but there's no way this hawaii team isn't cheating in some shape or form. I grew up in the Vegas area and this team is better than if we had put the best 12 kids from the metro area on the same team, and our population is bigger than the whole state of Hawaii.
😂😂😂😂
Completely Agree
Good coaching and discipline is what make you great. The determination to learn and get good at it. My grandson plays baseball and these kids work their asses off. Practice after school and more practice throwing ball and catching at home on no practice days. Determination to be good.
@@hokulani92 yea all the other teams just get home and play video games all night while crushing multiple mountain dews
Looks like loaded bata
Hawaii winning it again this year
I repeat, Hawaii winning it all
early gang wya
So Hawaii has a kid that played in last years LLWS and this one? I call BS on that. That is literally impossible. LL in just Orange county Calif has 30 different teams and then their are loads of other teams once they get through regionals. Then they have to play northern Calif champs. No way could the same team be 2 years in a row unless some shaky brackets are going on. Hawaii is basically making an all star team out of a much bigger poll than they should.
Everything you're seeing is within the rules. Hawaii has 5 LL districts.
I call BS on you. You think they would of gotten away with you think is going on. Hawaii is kicking butt in this year.
Yeah. Something fishy going on. My town in Northern California, with a population of 45,000, had two different all star teams: American and National. It looks like Honolulu is taking players from an extremely large pool. Millions of people.
@@ShootskasHawaii pool of people is 10,000. Imagine if they had a California pool of 45,000 they probably be unstoppable. California just can't compete I guess
I’ve beaten the New York team
