Sparkle (Animenz arr.) - Your Name./Kimi no Na Wa. OST (Piano) | RADWIMPS

- Today, 4th October (it's the 10th anniversary as well apparently :o), is the date in which the climax of "Your Name." takes place, and what better song to upload than the one that was playing during the climax itself XD
Animenz's "Sparkle" is another arrangement that showcases Animenz's ability to play around with the song structure to make it suit himself. Also, how he arranged the instrumental section from 2:48 is pure eargasm for me heheh. The multitude of voices (especially the "call-and-response" of Taki and Mitsuha in 5:00) present throughout the arrangement are also a very nice touch.
The difficulty of this arrangement is probably average for Animenz's standard, but the thing that killed me was the length of the arrangement. Despite being easier than other Animenz arrangements I've played, this took an equal amount of time to record. I ̶a̶l̶s̶o̶ ̶i̶n̶j̶u̶r̶e̶d̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶f̶i̶n̶g̶e̶r̶ ̶r̶e̶c̶o̶r̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶.̶
Even though I say the difficulty is average, the runs at 4:12 and 6:10, plus the crazy jumps at 5:50 made me question why I decided to learn this. There may be no "special" complicated techniques, but I had to lower my expectation of how some parts sound when I played them. For example, I had to slightly slow down at the parts mentioned above. But eh it's over now.
Overall, this arrangement was very satisfying to play (I think I use the term "satisfying" way too much now), but unlike previous arrangements, it isn't just the loud choruses that make it satisfying. This time, the softer, flowing instrumental section, like I mentioned above, was also equally satisfying. Another section that I want to give credit to is the pre-chorus (I think that's what it's called) at 1:32, where the bassline becomes detached; I think it's a very nice contrast from the previous section with the flowing arpeggio bassline, and it makes that section very fun to play as well.
Thank you guys, see you in the next video! I'll probably take a break for a month or 2 while I try to finish up some arrangements XD

Wowiee my favorite animenz piece fr
i see this and it reminds me i should at least finish off animenz' bluebird that ive been learning on and off for about a year now 💀💀 nice skills- something i dearly envy haha
Well it takes time, but consistency is definitely key as well 😅
Thanks XD
Amazing performance!💫
Thank you!
By far, in terms of tone colour, your best performance video ever.
4:24 onwards, the little details such as articulation (even on those 8 high Bs) is portrayed in a sweet but epic atmosphere, fitting the mood of sitting in the cinema and watching "Your Name" once again. Further improvements can be make from more dynamic contrast from softer to louder parts such as some accented notes should been more stand-out, but overall distinctive performance!
Ooooo, thanks for the feedback XD
omg pzm!

Thank you! Hopefully you can have access to a piano soon~
Good evening :)
Good day :)
How many takes does it usually take to get a just about perfect performance? I just finished Avid, animenz arr and tried recording a video but it took super long to get a near perfect run so what do you do to get more consistent at it?
@@garfield_thedog1188 I probably have like close to a hundred takes? There isn't a specific number though it depends on a lot of factors. As for how I try to minimise the number of takes, I always "spam" practise the piece days before recording so that I really really get used to it. Memorising each piece helps me as well.
@@PZMAnimePiano thanks for your response. I always memorize what I learn and only learn one peice at a time. It’s just annoying to try to record it because you want to move onto the next peice but want to record the other. The next peice I’m going to is WILL by animenz I think you should learn it too, it’s a beautiful peice. Thanks for your input imma keep trying to get a good recording even if it takes 100 tries which will drive me insane. 😊👍
@@garfield_thedog1188 all the best! Idk about WILL but "Sincerely" is definitely happening someday, haha
I should emphasize that most of my takes aren't even the full song, it could be like the first 30 seconds before I make a mistake and choose to retake. I probably only have like at most around 5 takes of the full song XD
@@PZMAnimePiano yea, for me I would mess up over something like a minute in and have to restart. Would love to watch you play “sincerely” thats definitely a piece I’ll want to learn at some point. It sounds so good. It’s a big goal for me to learn that one at some point but will take a while considering I’ve only been playing for 10 months self taught.
Omg pzm
Omg eason
early
Indeed
0 emotion, 0 soul, totally failure
Noted with thanks. If you can elaborate, it'd be more appreciated.
shut up troll 😂
look at 4:24
put up a video of you doing this cover. this guy's performance was amazing and you shouldn't critique him when you have nothing to back your claims 😢😢😮😮
Where's your cover then
