This is by far my most favorite track of all in the movie. The grand finale at 04:42 onwards... I always tear up when I listen to the original song.
Usually, I'm driving or doing homework, and when that part comes up, I seriously get tears. It's just majestic but also a bit tragic since it was played at a certain scene in the movie.
Btw, I was supposed to record with the GoPro, but my stabilizer was not working properly... I will return in for a refund, and see if I can find another stabilizer that will satisfy my needs. If not, then back to regular tripod angles.
Hope you enjoy! Kimi no na wa is a great movie and now one of the top earning movies in Japan. I'll do Zen Zen Zense next, and maybe Nandemonaiya as well. After that, I'll cover full version songs from this season's anime! :D

What kinda bugs me is how many people who watched this movie pointed out how Taki should have written his name on Mitsuha's hand while he wrote "I love you" instead, if he had written his name it would have been erased by musubi like how the memos on Taki's phone dissapeared.

Why will the musubi erase it?? Isn't it musubi itself started everything?
Well, I think this is because he returned her red cord back to Mitsuha. I kinda think after they switched back, time tried to align itself back together. Why? Well, Taki had her chord for 3 years while Mitsuha just gave it to him two/one day ago. So the timelines don't match properly after they meet. If he kept it with him, I think they would have still remembered each other and it also acted like a common link between them. Hence, after giving it back to her, the musubi snapped. But they subconciously remembered each other. And like Mitsuha's grandma said, musubi will always join again. So they meet again.
Idk its just a theory, I read some, thought some.

@Tyler Powell The thing is it's implied throughout the entire film that any direct record or reference to each other will be locked away and erased. That's why they each remember each other so strongly but struggle with important identifying details like names and faces when trying to actively remember each other, yet details that would lead them to each other - like the village - would remain intact. Writing down his feelings for her was probably the smartest move, since it motivated her to leave the village and come to Tokyo to work and live, even if she didn't know what she was looking for or why she always felt like something was missing from her life for years on end. If Taki had wrote down his name and contact info, there's a good chance they never would have gotten a happy ending.

Giga CMG I think with a stroke of luck, taki knew she was going to forget him anyways. So he wrote "I love you" on her hands to make her remember someone- someone she wont be able to remember fully, but somewhere deep inside her she will be looking for this particular person who wrote "i love you". Which made a very dramatic ending. 😭

The finale at 4:42 onwards really makes me cry man. This is my absolute favorite track in the movie.

JRTiben I saw it at the Scotland loves anime festival - we are very lucky to have an awesome festival like that here. But it releases UK wide (not sure about the rest of the world) on 24th November in over 100 cinemas :') if you can id try and see it in the cinema because it'll blow your mind!

It hit different seeing how much have u changed in these 8 months . I started accepting myself more , I stopped caring about people . And most importantly , understanding that relationships never last , or stay the same . I still have my anxiety . But im happy with this improvement and im proud of myself. yeah 5 centimeters per second...ive watched that too and literally broke my heart over again..Kimi no na wa gave me hope after watching it..after 5 long years(8 for mitsuha) they met each other again..so just have to keep moving forward and one day you'll get an answer thats what i learned...maybe who knows one day we'll see each other only time can tell...
For me too, 5 Centimeters per Second have a sense. I have also lived a distance relationship, but not as sad as yours. I have not seen Kimi no na wa yet, cause I'm waiting for it comes in cinema in France (I'm french), but I think it will be beautiful, maybe better than his last works, which are already incredible. Shinkai seems to be a really kind person, who understand complex feelings and emotions. He's fucking human. One of my favourite artists

Last year I found this cover when I was with my girlfriend at the time. Everything seemed so perfect and I had this dream that this cover would be played at our wedding some day. Every time I listened to that final crescendo I couldn't help to get the biggest grin on my face and shed a tear because I could imagine seeing her walking down the aisle. Unfortunately she grew into a human I didn't know.... Long story short, we broke up. fast forward to march this year I met this wonderful girl where everything seemed to be too perfect to be true. Though it is true. She is now my girlfriend and after a long time of being too scared to listen to this cover in fear of thinking about my ex instead of her i finally did... This seems real now. Jesus Christ I want to get married someday while this song in the background. Stay safe out in this horrible world right now. And thank you for making this.

found this piano cover when i was around 15 thinking it would be absolutely impossible for me and my fingers to ever play something like this. regardless i forced myself to sit at the piano everyday and managed to learn and play up till the chorus. im 19 now doing my piano diploma while simultaneously doing my final year college diploma and the whole thing actually seems doable. when i get back home im Definitely gna learn all of this to play at my class concert or something.

There are bad good and amazing live piano performances. And then there are the ones where when you hear them, your life flashes by your eyes, the rawest and deepest emotions start to surface and everything else seems small and insignificant in the moment. This is one of them.

While I was watching the movie (still at the yumetourou/opening part) and I thought that it was just going to be two old friends meet up after many years and shit. BOY WAS I WRONG! There was this girl in highschool with me, fours years ago, playing this piece after school in the school's concert room. Japanese, cute and well talented as all asian are for music. I didn't have much myself at that time, I was lonely but Kyle Landry and Your Lie in April made me yearn for piano like I never yearned for anything in my life so as I've been trying playing basic things here end then until this moment I did something that definitely changed my life. I took my balls up, downloaded the sheet and practiced like a mad man to compete with her, the first piece of a long list. Each weeks we went on showing how far we've learnt of the piece to each other, to compete, show off. Firstly Sparkle then Yuri on Ice, from an utter piano noob to a decent pianist this went on for months until she graduated. Nothing much really changed in the end, I was still a lonely, hardly interest worthy highschooler with a friend less, and a fiery passion for piano. I didn't have anybody else to play with, so I just kept learning covers on my own hardly interested in anything else and a bit bitter. But it was at this moment that someone else went in the piano room, probably attracted by the noise I was making. She just sat there, listening quietely. One time, two times, and then often. She didn't have as much passion for piano I had back then but we quickly made friends, then fell in love. She brought me the happiest days in my life for years, then left, as well. Today nothing much hardly changed as well, I'm lonelier than ever, more bitter than ever yet at least, I'm now playing Chopin's etudes and ballades. Life is a curious thing isn't it ?
