    Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!

    This video is perfect!!! We recently rescued a high bite risk pit bull that had been scheduled to be put down. My girlfriend saw the post on FB telling the saddest story about him and since we have no kids and had the extra time to work on rehabilitating him (thanks to covid) we figured why not save a life. Turns out he’s actually a super sweet heart that was clearly being abused prior (awful scars) and then surrounded be caregivers that couldn’t handle him (would only take him out of his cage once or twice a week because they were getting bit) Long story short, inside of 24 hours he knew all the basic house rules and he was following simple commands like sit and stay. He is so anxious to please it’s incredible. I figured some tricks might be a good way to go about that and so a quick search and this video was recommended. I love the “yes” technique combined with instant treat instead of the generic and probably confusing “good boy” I’d been using lol. These tips are going to be very useful and a lot of fun, thank you so much!

    Hii Iive in the Netherlands and I really want a doodle (labradoodle because I am allergic to dogs😥) but there are not many hypoallergenic dogs in shelters in the Netherlands. what can I do?❤🐩🐕

    • @alexandrakollias6448
      @alexandrakollias6448 4 роки тому +8

      Please remember - not all doodles are hypoallergenic even though they are marketed that way ☺️ when mixing two dogs you never know if it'll end up with more poodle type genetics or more lab genetics. And if it ends up more lab than poodle - you'll find yourself in a hard spot! 🐾❤️

    • @Sophie-xs6cw
      @Sophie-xs6cw 4 роки тому +4

      Alexandra Kollias if it’s a shelter it’s difficult to find a dogs history unfortunately. However, if you look for multigenerational dogs, you might have more luck with your allergies! Try finding a list of all the shelters near you, and occasionally(once every two weeks or so) search through all of them for a pup! It’s the best way! I hope you can find one:)

      I am not sure if you have websites like petfinder.com nd adoptapet.com in the netherlands. On these sites you can sort and find a certain breed. You may have to travel it a little bit too, and patience is key!If you can't find any, your next best option is to find a responsible breeder.

    • @jaded_dollies4208
      @jaded_dollies4208 4 роки тому +2

      Don't get an F1 goldendoodle. It means it's a "first generation" Goldendoodle. If you're allergic, you don't want to get an F1 Goldendoodle because they shed A LOT. Instead, get an F4 or F3. Please please please follow my advice, I am telling you from experience. Good luck finding one! :)

    i put in my comment about teaching speak before you mentioned it…so we used the same method! I do use the touch for the come command because I was encouraging her to come all the way to me so a collar can be grabbed, a leash put on etc…but i like using your idea of touch to be another way to get her to run to me.

    I do recommend giving your dog a command rather than asking your dog if they can do it. When you give your dog command you’re telling them that they need to do it. When you ask them, can you down, you sound unsure. You’re telling your dog what you want them to do which helps build the confidence between you two. When you ask them you leave the decision up to the dog and that’s when things go wrong

My one year is super energentic, excited and eager to learn, my 7 year old is laid back, stubborn and/or lazy, and acts like he can not be bothered learning these nonsense tricks. 😂 I tried teaching my 1 year old roll over and he learned in 10 minutes! i also use my dogs natural tricks, i taught my golden to speak by treating a bark with good speak, then no barking goo no bark, he learned quickly…it was handy to stop barking. the dog i have now is 1 yr old birder collie/GSP…she naturally hones in on prey…her fetch ball, she naturally wants to creep up on it and point to it…she did this at a couple months old…since i love using what dogs naturally do i labeled the creeping up as get closer, i use whoa to slow her down wait is like a freeze…i actually first used freeze but i knew i wanted to use freeze in ways where it’s an actual freeze…and not a fetch game. This dog will hold her “wait” for a good length for a 1 yr old, I always release within a minute so she doesn’t break the wait. No treats involved, she’s so happy to play this game, I see excitement in her, her human is playing a game she loves.
    She dreamt up a game from our fetch exercise, I insist she drops the ball at my feet…I’m not her dog…so if she misses I started saying closer, she creeps up but instead of get it i say push it. She quickly understood…now we play what i call Molly ball…she holds a ball in her mouth while we push another ball between us, taking turns. This is best on concrete/asphalt, it’s some exercise for me and she loves it. My grandkids are now learning to play it…if you want her to take a turn because sometimes she’ll hesitate…i take a couple steps back and say push it, she knows it’s her turn again (because it’s further away and again I’m not her dog😂).
    Because she now likes to play with two balls at a time she started a few months ago putting one ball in her mouth and pushing the second from upstairs to the downstairs…if she wants my assistance she’ll go on point to the 2nd ball…yes now I’m her dog…but bless her heart…it’s work pushing that 2nd ball down a hallway, down stairs, around a corner…when I’m coming behind her she’ll stop and look to see if i’m carrying the ball, like a good dog😂…this is a blend of a herding and hunting dog, so 98% of the time I remain the alpha, and i don’t allow her to herd me, or make me her prey😊
    love these tricks, my golden, RIP, did so many…this dog is finally at a stage where i’m ready to add parlor tricks to her training. love your training style, new subscriber here.

    Omg you make things so easy but I try I can’t 😖😖I have a 9 weeks English bulldog 😍she’s no hyper lol when I say a command, can I practice the two she knows ? Like playing with her and say “sit” then play again and say “down” those two are the ones I have practiced so far. Or do I have to focus in one command for a while ? Thank you
